Amazing. New pilot here, but ex radio/tv announcer. Let me start by saying the voice on this video is professional class. Great diction, tone, and friendly delivery. When I taught announcer classes, one of the tips I gave students was to pretend the microphone was a friend of yours and to speak like you are talking with a friend. That is exactly what I hear here.
Since I'm new, I have been watching all sorts of videos, literally hundreds, doing my research on what to buy. I'm retired now so I have the time, haha. There are a TON of videos on the tube covering all kinds of drones, locations, tips and tricks, unboxing, reviews, etc. Variable quality; some are OK, but many are...bad (leave it at that).
This one is actually so thorough and covers just about every aspect of a drone that you could possibly want. And the demos of the various features are comprehensive and clear with the changes in the screens whilst doing so.
But 5-star, props, huzzah, and accolades galore for this double-D person. Well done!

This review is by far the best I have seen on the mini 4 pro. The level of detail was outstanding. I also loved the hustle and juke moves.
I found this review a couple weeks after I got my M4P. Even with some familiarity with the drone it was still an entertaining and informative watch.

Perfect personality for video training. Very down to earth and not at all irritating…….
the digital shadow that you can see close to the ground is so you can precisely manually land the drone on sketchy places, for example a boat deck where the auto landing may not be perfect. (the shadow is where it is going to land)

I started watching your videos back in probably October when I got a Mini 3, and this is why I also have the 4 Pro too! Still love coming back for refreshers that keep me grounded in basic operations, and character. Always flying line of sight but would like trying some half to one mile stuff in an area I can feel safe to recover in case of an unavoidable bird strike. I fly above 300’ to assure I’m clear of obstacles. Thanks again.🇺🇸
Just wanted to say your video was by far the best. Most simplified and easy to follow. Not a lot of talking and gibberish, like some of the others do. And not a lot of fast talking, which everyone does which is hard to keep up and makes it impossible to learn. Your video I have to say is probably one of the best I've seen yet so far. You don’t need to reach in quick to hand land it. Just keep the stick back and it will override the bypass and land on you hand. I do it like that all the time.
Aaaahh I don't have any words on this one but dji have really a good improvement on the obstacle avoidance here, this thing is really doing a good performance

I'm loving mine,epic range and flight time and the obstacle avoidance is phenomenal.
I would pay the extra $1.74 for the cleaning clothe and spare R/C Sticks. Come on DJI get with the masses
They saved that 1.74 and probably charged 5 dollars more. Over millions sold they made multimillions leaving those out....they're turning greedy which is why I might leave dji autel has gotten incredible. Why do I need a geo fence? My car goes 180 mph they didn't limit it to 70 mph

Incidentally the day I found out I wouldn't be able to purchase a Skydio was the same day I learned of the Mini 4 Pro. I do remote adventure and what an advantage the mini 4 pro is for space saving compared to the Maverick Air.🙏

Very pleased to report improved positional accuracy. Not trivial, it allows for the aircraft to nail waypoints accurately, allows precision landing, and adds "Pro" to the Mini. Specs reveal one stepped-up parameter, namely Hovering Accuracy
Horizontal Hovering accuracy is now.
±0.1 m (with vision positioning)
From Mini 3 Pro's
±0.3 m (with vision positioning)
I suspect this is DIRECTLY due to the larger TimeOfFlight sensors on M4P. These are the dark mirror finished ones, that replaced the tiny round inset type on Mini's of the past. It was important enough for DJI to make up the extra weight somehow, and the accuracy when hovering and landing is proof enough for me!

What a fantastic detailed review & instructional video on the MP4, I’m so excited to get started on the many projects I have planned for this amazing little drone…..in just over a week I’ve completed two jobs that has paid for the MP4 fly more combo so I am able to keep my MP3 as a back up.
Still on the fence if I should get this or maybe wait for mini 5? I currently have mini 2se so it’s an upgrade for sure …

I’m from the uk too and find this guy’s reviews 100% legit and good! There are no range test like it 👀 I’m still tempted by the air3 over this but this looks amazing and it’s definitely on the short list.
@@jamesgrantham1743This is a huge refinement to Mini 3 Pro - particularly for positional accuracy. It actually takes a .3 meter horizontal accuracy down to .1 meter per specs abd it flys like it. Evan has precision landing which works perfectly - but stick with your Air 3 plans. As soon as I got settled with M4P, and enjoyed Active Track 360, I immediately missed the 70mm/3X camera. Never forget imaging is job 1. Plus DJI confirmed they're testing Active Track 360 for Air 3 - might take a few months since both focal lengths Track on Air 3. It's a tough choice, but If I could only have one? Unless sub-250 grams is a hard requirement and rules your purchase decision, Air 3 unquestionably a superior drone.

Yes! This is the video I was looking for…Going through everything on flight in real time. Bought mine a week ago, I’m gonna have it as soon as I return home next month…it’s gonna be my first…super excited! But I’m still gonna take things really slow.
And even if I’m not flying for comercial uses, I’m still getting the license just in case…who knows😅

WRT to the simulated shadow, I find it useful as a way to estimate the landing spot. Say if you are flying at the beach and you want to make sure it is going to land on the pad vs in the sand, that overhead shadow view will help you assess if you are on track to land on the pad or if you need to make some adjustments in the landing. Sometimes it can be hard to judge from the side as to exactly where you will land.
Or, you can just turn on the center-point cross, lol. I would add "point camera down" although M4P aIready does point fown on auto landings. Same exact thing, but this one is a bit more contrast

Great video, specially for people like me that are going to buy one now. Awesome stuff. I had a thought for you to try for on the spot landing. Turn the gimbal so it's pointed to the ground and use the drones shadow over your landing spot. Of course it will depend on where the sun is in the sky. But it might be closer. Thanks just discovered your channel. Great stuff. Keep up the good work.
They added the home point and augmented reality to the Air 3 also since you did your review it came with a firmware update. I like being able to see the path when returning to the home point also. I have both the air 3 and mini 4 pro. I have just gotten the mini 4 pro and I haven’t gotten to take it for a flight yet. The weather was pretty windy yesterday so I decided to wait rather than risk it. Great review as always

1:15:16 I just tested this and I can confirm the Air 3 does exactly the same. I flew it into a similar tight space with trees and bushes surrounding it, hit RTH and it spun around and slowly worked its way out back the way it came in and once it cleared all the twigs and branches it started ascending and headed for the home, very impressive.
I so want the air 3 but it seemed so far behind this mini 4 on obstacle avoidance but this is nice to hear 👍

@@jamesgrantham1743it’s not behind it at all. I have seen both good and a bit bad from both and both share the same shortcomings and strengths. Small branches in the center seems to be their weakness.
They have a Fly More Plus combo at my local Best Buy store. They have exactly one left in stock. That’s all they have, no other packages , everything else sold out already that was mini 4 pro. I’m very tempted, I can just barely afford it. Normally I would be getting a standard fly more combo rather than the plus with those extended flight time batteries. I’m strictly recreational and always fly in class G airspace, having those heavier batteries though is what’s holding me back. So maybe I will use your link if there is a regular fly more combo offered there.

For tracking put the drone in sport mode and see if it loss you. Plus the force landing at 10% is more for find mine drone feature.
Don't leave your batteries sitting fully charged on the charger, or left in the mini... you're deteriorating the cells on the lipo battery... store them partially drained outside the charger or flip them around on the charger so the batteries connectors are not connected to the contacts on the charger.
I have to admit that while the price is high looking in from the outside, when you see what this is offering within context, it is an incredible piece of gear for the price.

My main issue with the MiniPro 4 RC-2 is the offline map feature. Unless you've got your controller tethered to you phone you won't have access to detailed maps unless you download maps using he RC-2's Offline map capability. And who doesn't need maps when they are flying? Here comes the rub...today you can only download small map "snippets" (max is ~3MB map size...and for me that translates to an area of about 3 miles X 2 miles. While you can down multiple map "snippets", if you want to have maps for a reasonable size geographic region (city plus surrounding metro area) you'd have to select, download, (and optionally name) potentially HUNDREDS of map snippets to get that type of map coverage depending on the size of the geographic area. And that's not how I want to spend my time just to make maps available for my flights. This makes the offline maps feature inconvenient if not unusable.
DJI support "claims" that this map file size limitation is an Android limitation. But based on my own research the file size limit in Android is actually 4GB under FAT32, which is an order of magnitude larger than the DJI 3MB limitation. If anyone has a different understanding of file size limits I'd like to here it as I'm not buying DJI 's supports answer.
It is my understanding that this Offline Map file size limitation is the same on the RC-Pro and RC controllers. And the RC-Pro controller with offline maps has been out for how how many years? I'm hoping that DJI will fix this issue soon.
I didn't have an issue with maps when I did my range test by caching the area at home just zooming around the route but perhaps they are not as "detailed" 🍻
Hmmm... I had not that about that... I currently have a NC1 controller with the Air 2. So your saying that when you use the RC2 that you don't have detailed maps unless you tether it to your phone? So is that what most people do?
Great review and demo flight. I've been trying to decide whether to get the Mini 3pro or go full out and get the Mini 4 pro. I like the rc2 remote better so I think I will go with the Mini 4 pro. Thanks for the video.

Can't wait for the tracking test I think you will be pleased. Air 3 and Mavic have a blind spot most the Air 3. M4P obstacle avoidance is better because where they put the sensors. Plus you will love the low to ground tracking it's a game changer as far as tracking instead of the drone trying to fly over a tree it can be right behind you almost. I put mine through the test and was amazing. Tip be ready to hit pause because if it loses you it kind of keeps moving towards things as if it thinks you are still moving. Thank you for the video.
Fortunately DJI confirmed Active Track 360 is being tested on Air 3. Might take a while since both cameras track which adds complexity. I agree Near-ground flight is a tracking game changer, keeping the aircraft out of the tree canopy.
