    I was that guy, moved to France to be with a girl. Got a job, got sick of her constantly correcting my grammar so we spoke English in the apartment. Then one day we went for a drink many months later and she nearly fell off the chair when she heard me speaking French with the owner. On an aside the cultural differences are huge, what is natural in another country is totally different in France. I ended up engaged to that girl but my gut was telling me something was up, my spidey sense had told me to be wary of a particular guy. Anyway I said nothing, then got the job I had been working towards since I was a kid. She turned around and demanded that I choose her or the career. I told her straight not to ask me to choose as she wouldn't like the answer. She insisted, and she was shocked when I chose the career. Anyway as she was freaking out over the break up she threw her past hidden infidelity at me and asked how it felt to know she had cheated ( with the guy my gut had warned me about).I answered that it felt like I'd made the right choice. Trust your gut, always. It's a rule I live by now.

      Ji M Knowing English beyond a minimal level isn't a common thing in France. French people are much more conservative and proud, they expect you to know French. I wouldn't be surprised if this dude didn't know much English at all.

    • @Nicobs2k6
      @Nicobs2k6 7 лет назад +32

      Very fucking true !! It's fishy to say the least... The other guy was trying something, most definitely. I mean not all of us Frenchmen tolerate adultery but some guys just don't give a fuck if a woman sits with her boyfriend, though I think she was just toying with that guy to see if she still got it, that's actually pretty common. We're latins, so just like Spanish, Portuguese or Italian people, we love to flirt just for the sake of flirting.
      Bill is also right about practicing some more French (or whatever the langage of the country you're in), it definitely helps. I've been there in Germany, trying to decipher if some guy was trying to flirt with my girlfriend at a time where my German wasn't fluent and the right thing to do is to stay in there even if you don't understand what's going on. People overestimate you once they know you got a handle of a langage, use that !! Oh, and body langage rarely lies ^^

      Thebear
      That's what I wrote in my initial comment.
      A lot of French guys tend to be sneaky when it comes to girls. Also, the French guy didn't even introduce himself to the boyfriend and completely ignored him while talking to the girl. It just shows how he didn't respect the fact that they are in a relationship nor did he care.

    • @Nicobs2k6
      @Nicobs2k6 7 лет назад +7

      Yes we are, I began at age 12, nowdays kids begin at around 10. The problem is, it's taught badly, we concentrate too much on writing and not enough on speaking and the general level of our teachers is very low so unless you go to a private school, you won't be proficient with it.

So the youtuber dressed himself like a loser with no game, and went awkwardly asking for girls' numbers. One girl recognised him. So when he asks "hi do you have a bf", she answers word for word "yeah, but we can work something out".

    There's only two ways to correctly handle those situations:
    Some dude tries to insert himself into your conversation while you're 1on1 with your girl, you politely introduce yourself, say nice to meet you, then turn away from him and keep talking to your girl. If he tries to insert himself into your conversation again, look at him silently for a moment then turn back and resume talking to your girl. Don't even acknowledge him. If he tries again, cut him off with "We're having a conversation" and turn back to her. Most will slink off by that point. If not, you'll probably have to get the bouncer.
    It's tougher if she knows the guy. With that, you turn your attention to some other girl. If you're in a group, turn your conversation to the group. Play it up by having a visible, loud good time. Get everyone laughing. If you're not in a group, find some other girl nearby to start chatting up. Any girl. Doesn't matter if she's not a looker. Or the bartender. Do the exact same thing your girl is doing to you, but better. If she gives the slightest shit about you, she'll get jealous and leave the guy to come hover on you.
    The two WORST things you can do is meekly sit there in silence and take it, or get insecure and bitter about it. Both make you look like a pussy.
    But I would question the relationship in the first place if she's even worth keeping. No woman who's really into you and respects you would pull this shit. I can't even imagine how little respect I'd have to have with someone I was out with before I would completely ignore them for 15 minutes and talk to someone else right in front of them in a language they didn't understand. This would be disrespectful if it was a girl you've only been seeing for a month. But a prospective fiance whom you moved to another country for? Get out with that shit.
    (She swore she was doing nothing but talking good things about you? And never once turned to you to add to the conversation? Bulllllllllshiiiiiiiit)

      "No woman who's really into you and respects you would pull this shit." This is all that needs to be said.
      "I can't even imagine how little respect I'd have to have with someone I was out with before I would completely ignore them for 15 minutes and talk to someone else right in front of them in a language they didn't understand. " This how entitled many modern women are these days. They don't think anything they do is disrespectful. They only focus on what makes them happy at that very moment.

    If my girlfriend, whom I live with, did this to me it wouldn't go well. I'm too confrontational of a person to sit there analyzing whether or not it is what it looks like. The fact that it looks like that is enough. She should have the good sense to not do something that looks the way it does, whether or not it is that way. It's still disrespectful to allow conditions that look like that, and carry on because you know it's not that. You wouldn't relax if it looked like you had killed someone when you hadn't.
    I'd interrupt and bring the conversation to English. I'd gain some context of their relationship. If I didn't like his intentions I'd speak down to him until he looks like a pussy to her. If I determined that she was interested in him, then that's something to be dealt with.
    I actually believe that it's a little unrealistic to expect that your partner will never find someone else appealing. Sometimes you meet someone who is kind of hyponotizing to your attention, and you indulge it just a little bit, to feel those good feelings of back when you could explore exciting new connections. But that little bit is tiny. Seconds, even. It's just a nice feeling to encounter someone who is your type, and you're theirs and it's clear there's chemistry. But you love your partner and your love for them is far more important than any of that bullshit. If you're someone of integrity you wouldn't throw away someone else's heart and your damn soul for a flirtation. It's not worth it. You've already got something better. And that chemistry exists between you and your partner, too. That's how you got together. So you already have that, and something better on top. End of story. If someone indulges that feeling too much then it means they're able to be seduced. Their own conviction doesn't prevent them. It's only circumstances or the lack of persuasiveness of the new connection that holds them back. In this case it seems like it was the circumstances. The boyfriend was right there. If they didn't have a code language to speak in the circumstances would've been even more restrictive.
    This shits making me angry just simulating it in my mind. Lol

    These days lots of women weren't taught how to behave. So a lot of the duty falls on men to train women because the women are unaware of all the problems these incidents cause. If this is a young woman, she may be able to be rehabilitated. But he should put his foot down and explain all the problems and the position this puts him in as a man. This is a big deal and should be treated as such. If it is an older woman, he should move on to another woman because it will be too much trouble.
    It is not uncommon for women to gravitate towards the higher energy and good feelings guy in a bar situation because they are just following their emotions. This other guy basically pulled an AMOG move of hitting on the boyfriend's girl right in front of him. This causes the boyfriend to lose status and turns on the girlfriend who is excited by the new attention.
    The better question is what to do in this situation? It is difficult for guys because their immediate response is to be defensive. Since the issue is that the girlfriend sees the other guy as higher fun energy, I would recommend the boyfriend up the ante in the energy department. Three ways he could do this in a bar.
    1. He basically takes her to the dance floor with a big positive emotion of this is my song, sorry but I have to dance with my girl and march her off caveman style with no opportunity for refusal. Who cares if the interloper understands him or not?
    2. He starts mocking the AMOG in his girlfriend's ear by giving him back the AMOG treatment. You can just assume the elephant in the room and say stuff with a laughing manner of Is this dork really trying to pickup my girl or Are you really trying to fuck my girlfriend? It doesn't matter if he can't understand the language, he will understand through nonverbal communication. And you can follow up with things like Why can't you get your own girl? It isn't hard and so on. How about that girl over there? Or you just say these things in your girl's ear with the aim being to get her to laugh and thereby sabotaging the conversation because you are bringing down his status in the process. Force him to have to qualify himself.
    3. If those fail, he should start flirting with the female bartender or another woman that is within earshot of his girlfriend. This should get her attention and break her out of the good feelings spell. If she doesn't pay attention to that, she isn't the girl for you.
    After the incident, even if he did the above, he would still need to have a sit down with her and explain what was going on and how emasculating this situation is and how it can't happen in the future because of all the risks and questions it causes in him about their relationship.

      OldHickory12 That's pretty solid advice for anyone to be the more dominant person in those types of situations, but I honestly, as a girl and a fairly young one, can assure you that the woman involved can perfectly asses what's going on, and is just acting naive. Of course there are exeptions to the rule, but not plenty. I would also add that this type of behaviour would be rude towards whoever she was sitting with, just a female friend for example who doesn't speak the language and is completely excluded from the conversation. Inexcusable.

I could believe that she was talking to a co-worker about random things, but if she really was talking about the boyfriend, why did she never look at him or introduce him or get him in the conversation? At best she is just fucking rude which is a good enough reason to leave her.

    Its weird. I was with this girl for a couple years and she'd get hit on by everyone whenever we went out, and it never bothered me. We even made it a little game when she knew exactly why I'd ask her to get to leave the table or whatever to get drinks. I'd see her turn heads and guys just start conversations I knew what was about on her way back. Then we'd laugh about it.
    I was never once jealous while with her. Other girls and even girls I was interested in but had no investment with I have been jealous around. It was mostly because I was in a bad place and knew in the back of my mind i had no chance with them to begin with.
    But long story short, a friend I found out had been knocking me down at every opportunity behind my back knowing full well that I'm trying to get somewhere with this one girl, and long before I knew that I wanted to smash his face in whenever he was around, but didn't know why precisely.
    But...I knew our friendship was over when the girl began bringing up embarrassing stories that only he knew. So the next time I saw him I asked about his sister and how she's doing...and I said at the end "so you're saying I should have banged her before she got all coked out then?" At that point I made him aware of the fact that I was aware of the shit he was doing to me.
    It was really stupid shit I'm not proud of in any way, and is why I also don't talk to girls that are connected to people I know.

    The girl's dick move is not talking to the guy, it's not including the bf in the convo she didn't even think that the bf doesn't understand shit there and would like to join in. She just chatted away not even sparing him a glance and continues on using speaking deep french not taking the initiative to speak in english or on a pace her bf understands. Maybe what they were talking about is harmless, but the way she treated the guy is unacceptable in a "Serious" relationship. Still, unless she does this on multiple occassions the bf should endure if he feels that she's worth it.
