Waylon had the most haunting, incredible voice. He has been my country hero since 1975. I love CDB and Bocephus. But Waylon has a voice nobody can duplicate

It’s a voice that only someone who has lived hard and been through some shit can have.
That’s why you’ll never hear anything like it on the Billboard top 40

Let me just tell you ALL, I'm not just some "old lady" that loves my "teenage music", I was born in '76. I play NOTHING, but pure WAYLON, live performances. There has never & will never be a performer that can touch this man. It all boils down to honesty, Waylon was as honest as it gets. He didn't stand & love "country music" he loved music. Whatever it came out like was just a coincidence. And let me tell ya there is nothing as sexy as Waylon in the 70's. Wish I could've seen the man just once, but I'm sure I wouldn't have been mature enough to appreciate him the way I do now!!! I love you Waylon, & I hope you know what you've given to us here left on earth.

Great great comment! You obviously read his book. Waylon just played "music" period. No labels, no image consultants ( Hazel Smith coined him outlaw) just honest and raw and oh yeah....great!

+beasonl10 I remember the first time I heard his music. I was hooked. Later in the army in Germany, my 1sgt and wife took me to one of his concerts. The only one I ever saw. It was one of the most exciting times in my life. Many years later, a friend went to the memorial service for Waylon at the Rhyman, and got an extra program and sent it to me. I had it laminated. Some years later, I met someone that knew my old 1sgt and gave me his address. I sent him a letter and told him how much it meant to me that they took me to that concert, and I gave him the memorial service program. RIP Waylon. Like his grave marker says he was and is "beloved by the world".

Tommy Petersen I've have his book, unfortunately I have been unable to find time to read it, I'm the type that will not move until a book is finished. 3 kids that play every sport is all I get done outside of work. But it's waiting on me!

@@waylonvansmack yep. There is no doubt that perfect footage of Waylon exists in vaults all over the place. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much of a push to make sure it sees the light of day. Waylon has been gone 18 years now and the best we've gotten commercially is the DVD companion to the box set "Nashville Rebel". Waylon still has an amazing fan base but in my opinion it could and should be much bigger. This channel is mine and it only exists for ONE reason: to show that Waylon is the greatest country artist of all time and to grow his fan base.

seems like the same year Waylon started his narrator role in MoonRunners . the B movie that was ripped off for the Dukes . Guy whose life story it was got nothing but at least we got Waylon . When Good ole boys became his Free Bird He did add another verse which went I'm a good ole boy , You know my Mama loves me , but she can't understand why they keep showing my hands and not my face on TV .
