@Fuzzy Butkus My comments about Vince Gill was strictly complimentary. I thought he over-sang/performed with his voice. Just my opinion. As far as guitar? WOW! Especially when you get a phone call from Chet Atkins that just totally blows me away. I hope I have cleared this up. I'm never going to be in a class like Vince Gill and don't want to be. I am a troubador and I have had a taste of road life and concerts. I loved the bus! I am more happy playing clubs and I can work my crowd just fine. You meet a lot of different people when you tour and I would rather do one week jobs, at the most two. If it's a club you like you keep it on your calendar. If not, you don't go back. Hope you had a wonderful Easter!
Kenny Aronoff is everywhere playing with everybody. He’s just awesome on the drums. I’ve always been a big Vince Gill fan. He’s one of the greatest guitar players and is so under rated.
Greg had his issues like most of us did in the 70's. But he was a righteous guy. He came into my shop one day and was looking at a nice leather jacket we had at "Comes the Sun" in Buckhead Ga. When I saw him , I began to look around for Duane, who was my guitar god. Duane was not with him on that day but Greg wanted that jacket. I told Greg I'd give him the jacket at my cost (50 % off ) if he would wear it on his next album cover. I never thought about it again until I looked on the back of the live at Filmore album and sure enough he had it on. He was overshadowed by Duane and Dickey for many years but had immense talent that the world realized eventually .
I'm 66 & was so blessed to have seen them 4 times in 76-77...I was 18 then & 19 when the plane crashed...I had just heard Street Survivors Allbum at a party that had a kick ass stereo a few days before I heard the bad news.. Seems like yesterday every time ...every day I listen to at least a couple songs from 77...not this Tribute band...I'm glad they can carry on the music like RVZ would approve of...
I am 67 and within the last year or two I finally had my son put together a record player so I could listen to my old albums again and it’s been great so thank you for RUclips so that I could actually see them other than just them
This performance is epic! Chuck Leavell on keyboards totally gave the song a melodic tumble up and down the register that blew it out of the water! Kenny Aronoff on drums is inspirational and of course Vince Gill slayed it vocally and on the guitar. Gregg Allman, you rocked it! R.I.P.
Anyone notice who is on keyboard?! That, my friends is the one and only Chuck Leavell, the original keyboardist for The Allman Brothers Band and the keyboardist & musical director of The Rolling Stones! Outstanding musicians ALL of them on stage!
I can see why Vince Gill is in the bunch. Greg needed him for his wonderful falseto voice background singing and outstanding guitar. There are some people who are so good, like Prince that you see in videos with other folks. I think that Vince plays every stringed instrument in the known world and that says alot.
Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow!!!!!!!!!! Everybody just nails it!!! Greg's voice! Vince's jam! Zac's loving it. Keyboards, drums, horns! Greg's voice is one of the incredible things I've ever heard, live!!!!! 👌 Wow!!!

I am 73 .. this song takes me back to a wonderful simpler time .. totally enjoyed it .. Thanks
72 here what you said !!!
A powerful song❤😂 RIP brother
Ya know what? Age has nothin t'do with recognizing good music!
I'm 80, too. I still cain't hep it! Music makes me move, y'all. LOL And percussion is one of my voices.
Could anyone else just listen to this for like 2 hours? Such a great band and sound. Everyone did their their job so well
Probably done it,
I am currently on my third replay

How about 50 years?!
Me for sure
I could and have the last few days
When people talk about great guitarist you hardly ever hear Vince Gill in that list and idk why because Vince is an absolute BEAST!
There comes a time when you should CAP your abilities and just keep in time with the tune! Damn!
this guy hasnt done a bad riff, solo, or lead
With over 20 grammy's Vince has nothing to prove. A very humble and gifted musician. He has never let fame get the best of him.
@@ricksmith5128 Agreed, he overdid it. His singing was harmony was excellent though.
LOVED Vince Gill's guitar solo. Kenny Aronoff's drumming was superb, as always.
I came here to say something about Kenny's playing. Dude is THE boss of the kit.
Kenny Aronoff is everywhere playing with everybody. He’s just awesome on the drums. I’ve always been a big Vince Gill fan. He’s one of the greatest guitar players and is so under rated.
Clapton's keyboard man ( Chuck Lavelle ? ) is one of the best in the biz'.
@@trswanson9604 Chuck was a member of the Allman Brothers Band in the 70’s, hence the connection.

Ditto to the last guys post! Absolutely love the Allman Brothers since ca. 1969. Gregg's voice is one the best ever in rock. Miss him. RIP.
Wow , what an awesome experience that would be !! Once in a lifetime thing !! ❤
Cool story
You must be so proud. That is such a cool story thank you for sharing.
Love how Vince and Zach look back to the maestro, Mr. Allman. Spectacular rendition of a spectacular original!!!
Nobody makes music this good anymore, and that's a damn shame. Vince Gill is a badass guitar player in case you didn't know.
I am 67 and within the last year or two I finally had my son put together a record player so I could listen to my old albums again and it’s been great so thank you for RUclips so that I could actually see them other than just them
Vince Gill is this salt of the earth dude who has the music in his soul
As a many musicians alike.
@@lisaweaver986 Sorry, there's only ONE V.G. though and that's who Pat was referring too ! Do you understand now ?
And Gregg with his sweet voice. Played right up until the end, even as the cancer was eating him away.
RIP
True... Timeless as Johnny Cash
@@BrianCarnevaleB26 Greg was the shit, no one like him!
Vince Gill makes this son so much better because he is an awesome guitar player!
He was already killing just the harmonies. Then his guitfiddle solo. VG is the man.
So true...
LEGENDS PLAYING LIKE IT'S MEANT TO BE.
Oh wow I thought that was Chucl Leavell!
Chuck played on the Laid Back album (1973).
Anyone notice who is on keyboard?! That, my friends is the one and only Chuck Leavell, the original keyboardist for The Allman Brothers Band and the keyboardist & musical director of The Rolling Stones! Outstanding musicians ALL of them on stage!
Yes! I know Chuck, & he knows ME!
I can see why Vince Gill is in the bunch. Greg needed him for his wonderful falseto voice background singing and outstanding guitar. There are some people who are so good, like Prince that you see in videos with other folks. I think that Vince plays every stringed instrument in the known world and that says alot.
Hi.. Anna
Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow!!!!!!!!!! Everybody just nails it!!! Greg's voice! Vince's jam! Zac's loving it. Keyboards, drums, horns! Greg's voice is one of the incredible things I've ever heard, live!!!!! 👌 Wow!!!
Zac is ok gut not superiar
Gregg still has the voice! Impeccable musicianship one and all.
I'd give a million to see the brothers together one more time some of the best times of my life were spent with there music.forever grateful!!
I'd like to know why Gregg's not playing the Organ
He died in 2017 Rip
For sure, that voice.
@@sherrydodge5338 he switched over to a lot more guitar playing after Duane died
Gregg knew his time was limited, but this rendition is amazing .
Gregg Allman, what a voice! What talent in all these folks! Love it!
Agreed
Vince Gill has the most amazing voice and kills it on the guitar. Pure praire league..
Vince Gill is a really underrated player.
He wasnt with them for their best song, "Aimee"...most think he was.
Greg alman late 80's kissimi 192 playing at water mania,,, god it was great,, those other 2 guys .. great job !! They are all masters.. glad i was there ! This world is so full of talent !!! Good lord sure knows his buss.. huh!!! Go swift 24
Swamp dogs pork county fl 50 yezrs give or take we oughta give it up,, but cant at least we are all sober
All this time gone by,, trafic no guitars,,damn not very observant...ray charles could of seen that
Vince Gill is the best thing about this whole gig.
Vince Gill did a killer solo and his 335 is sounding good as hell. Also Jack Pearson was present. Jack Pearson is a man amongst men!
RIP Greg! Thank you for giving us such great memories!
Vince Gill is one of the most underrated guitar players ever
Damn skippy. That boy plays his A off!
Underrated by who? He's a fuckin legend!
BEST done just Right
I always thought he sang like I imagined a unic would but when he plays that guitar he is a full grown man no doubt.
@@davidsharek1831 Eunuch.
This is such an amazing version of this song, Vince Gill kicked ass with that solo and Gregg and Zac’s voices work so well together
Great video! I love how Zac Brown "bows" to Gregg. That's cool.
Greg > zac
Vince takes it
I agree with that !
Duane would be proud!
Can never grow tired of this...best version of Midnight Rider ever!
These days. RIP Gregg. Jackson still with us.
Thank You Vince Gill and Zak Brown for joining in with Greg ……so fan Fantastic !!!! 3:09

2024 I'm here listening as a boomer born & raised on Siesta key in Sarasota where Greg frequented & his brother & Dickey. 🥂
@@sweetest247cheers to you from bradenton, pal! 🥂

I lived in Bradenton a short while.
Were you born & raised in Florida?
This was one of my favorite songs when I was 16 and all these years later, I still love the song!
How could you NOT love this song?
Allman Brothers Band is a highwater mark in the world of music. Greg's voice is the perfect blend of soulful, gritty and somehow buttery all at the same time. Usually these big group jams bore me, but this one is especially good.
Gregg's songs were always a Lil more rough n haunting...Dicky's smoother but they were good together
Because it's a ftm tranz person all of em are Allman is a sheeee
They kept it short
Gregg Allman still sounds phenomenal all these years later!
Up until he passed away he never lost his singing voice

He sure was one of a kind Southern blues man 💙
one of the greatest songs ever written back when raw talent was required ......today all they need is a marketable face and technology does the rest ..............Freddie Mercury predicted this back in 1977 No talent will be required Duane is smiling
if you listening to this great song a BIG THumbs UP TO YOU IN 2024
Oh I'll be listening to this until the end of time~! April 2024~
✌🏽💚💙💜
Oh hell yeah - it's all good in my hood!!!
I will listen to this until I'm dead and gone!
Every day every way. 75 and still alive
I've had the pleasure of sitting and talking to Vince Gill while working security at a venue he plays yearly. The guy is so humble and down to earth it's amazing.
Ladies and gentlemen, Vince Gill
Who would have thought!!! 😂
You don’t need back up singers with his incredible talent
It's still hard to believe Gregg isn't with us anymore. Just can't believe it. At least his music is still here.
Vince Gill Keeps the harmony together
