Thanks for the info. That Aussie Moist conditioner is serious when it comes to detangling. I hope they never change the formula.

You’re speaking my language! This video was so thorough and helpful. I’m combing my locs out beginning in early November 2021 and hope to have them combed out by Thanksgiving. My friend will be helping me. I’ve had them for 7.5 years. They are beautiful and healthy, but I am ready to comb them out. Perhaps I’ll re-loc my hair later on in life, but right now it’s time to comb them out. I literally took notes. Thank you! Your hair is BEAUTIFUL.

An update on this - I combed them out from October 2-October 16. Couldn’t wait any longer! All of my spare time was spent combing out my 62 locs. I missed out on sleep and didn’t exercise once. My mom did one, my friend did 3/4th of one and my sweet husband did 6 or so. In May, I cut them from butt length to bottom of bra length and they quickly grew to mid-back length by the time I started combing them. Each loc took 50 minutes to 3 hours - 1.75 hours on average. My locs were thick and long. It was an intense 2 weeks with no breaks. I spent 6-10 hours combing each day. So as soon as I clocked out of work I started combing and combed throughout the weekend using Aussie conditioners, a water mister and a rattail comb. Anyways, that’s all behind me now, and I’m very glad I did it. My hair is just below armpit length and very healthy. Admittedly, i’s shorter than I expected it would be, but I’m very happy. It’s so shiny and soft. 🥲

When I combed out my locs, I did it raw-no conditioner or water. If I were to do it again, I would take your advice. I did, however, get my hair trim after I was down taking them out. It did take me three days only because it wasn't all the way locked. But WHEW! What a relief it was when I was done Bc that was a tedious project for me.
