    Tonight, tonight I'll start...maybe. You have motivated me to comb out my 300 locs 😳
    3/11/23 Edit: JUST FINISHED! A month a week or two and a hundred movies and season episodes.🥳🥳 I had a grocery bag of shedding. The locs at the top of my head were thinner as well and took 45 mins each to comb out (I had cut them evenly to my shoulders, but ended up cutting them shorter to boost my morale🤣) I found this craft pic at the dollar store and it saved my life. Imagine a metal dentist scraper but with a plastic handle--just as sharp, but didn't break like two metal tipped plastic rattail combs I started out with. I cut my locs to my shoulder, and my length stretches two inches past my shoulders. I also ended up washing it midway because my scalp was crying for mercy. All in all, I'll say it's was worth it.

    I had 56 locs. I didn't like the size and had them in for 5 months. Used a loc tool to make them look mature. My hair was growing too quickly for me to keep up.
    I now have 56 twists which I will try to keep in for 2 months and wash in between without taking them out. Just here and there re-twist if need be.

Then with the Crotche’ needle they can be locked in. Oh when I took my braids out, after 10wks. very little hair came out. And yes I washed my scalp, 1 X. a week. And use warm oil on the scalp, Aloe Vera is very very good for Detangling. “Seven Minerals” maybe you can purchase on Amazon. Ok No one should Ever, ever,ever loose that much! Ughhh. The Knots are the worst 😩. Deep conditioning my locs helped me when I got stuck. I used my hood conditioner. Soaked my hair and let the conditioner sit in my hair with a shower cap on for hours. That helped me break through. Have you tried that?

  • @RachelHenry-nm9px
    @RachelHenry-nm9px Год назад

    My locs are not absorbing the water and conditioner well. And I have lost a lot of my hair that is bleached. Which I’m thinking should be expected. It’s taking me 2-3 hours per loc.

    • @Mrsbwhyte
      @Mrsbwhyte  Год назад

      Just a thought - have you tried doing a deep condition. Like sitting with the conditioner in your hair for an hour before starting to take down a loc? And not sure if it’d help, but perhaps using a heavier conditioner since your hair is more dry from the bleaching.

    • @Mrsbwhyte
      @Mrsbwhyte  Год назад

      Hmmm. Idk. I would maybe start by combing just one out just to see how it goes. Just remember to be very gentle especially in any areas where you feel knots. You’ll be tempted to try to yank through the knot. But use extra conditioner, get it really wet, and pick at it gently. It may take a while, but that’s the best way to preserve your hair and avoid any additional damage/breakage.

    • @Mrsbwhyte

      Hey gorgeous, sorry for the late reply. I’d definitely consult a knowledgeable Loctitian. I think the most important thing is to understand why it’s thinning and work to correct that. I ignored my thinning (due to postpartum shedding) and eventually the entire loc just fell out. So whichever route would make it easier for you to get your hair healthy and strong is what I’d do. Your Loctitian should be able to point you in the right direction. Hope that helps. ♥️

    • @Mrsbwhyte
      @Mrsbwhyte  Год назад +1

      Hi, and thanks for watching. 💕 The size of your part and density of your hair plays a role in the size. So you can get smaller parts for smaller locs. If i did it again, that’s the approach I’d take, especially in the middle where my hair is much thicker. It means, I’d have more locs, but the individual size of the locs would be smaller.
