A crêpe or crepe is a type of very thin pancake. Crêpes are usually of two types: sweet crêpes and savory galettes. Crêpes are served with a variety of fillings, from the simplest with only sugar to flambéed crêpes Suzette or elaborate savory galettes. Technically speaking a crepe is a pancake that's been thinned out using a cast-iron griddle and is either stuffed or folded and topped with savory or sweet fillings.

I made these about an hour ago, but I added about a tablespoon of melted butter (cause I never had crepes without butter in them, I love the flavour it gives), and some vanilla (to avoid the smell of eggs). I also wanted them thinner, so I added extra milk, and they turned out perfect. I served them with some whipped cream and chocolate, and I think I'll make them again tomorrow 😋
    Thank you for the recipe.

Writing down so I can make notes!
    Large bowl
    Sift 1 cup pastry flour
    1 tbsp sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    Whisk to combine
    3/4 cup milk
    2 eggs
    Whisk again (NO LUMPS!)
Drain the batter through a sifter to ensure no lumps! Use a spatula to push last bits through
Melt butter in a No stick or cast iron pan
Use ladle to scoop a portion then swirl around pan
Cook about 1min each side (or eyeball it)
Add fun yummy stuff like Nutella, chocolate, fruits, etc!
    Enjoy!

Listen just a tip. But if you wanns make them go from a french crepe to a nice pannekoek (pancake in afrikaans) just dont add sugar in the batter and add cinnamon sugar inside it after its done. Make sure to roll it up. Its perfect for rainy weather

  • @-.SkyArt.-

Literally just tried these, they’re DELICIOUS! But just so you know, I used all purpose flour and skipped sifting the batter or adding salt, and they turned out great! My sisters and mom loved it! Just make sure you’re using Nutella or maple syrup because without a sweet topping, the crepe itself isn’t sweet at all. Overall, I highly recommend ❤ (but this only made about 4-5 crepes for me, so feel free to double the recipe if you want more)

Short answer: Make semi-thin batter, not "water" consistency, then pour onto the edge of your pan and spread the mix around till you get a full coat in the pan by swirling it. Real easy.

    • @epicedits7999
      @epicedits7999 Год назад +1

@@malaknasser3145 Nope salt isnt nessacary unless you want a more savory salty crepe but if its breakfast or desert then you should skip the salt. Also make sure you are using unsalted butter for the pan or else it will turn salty. Also for finishing touches condensed milk really does the job and makes a big difference if you like it sweet! Also for the sweet side you might want to add double the amount of sugar that the video says. Also make sure to add vanilla extract for that vanilla taste just slightly so its not too strong! maybe like 1/2 of a tsp or a tsp of vanilla! :D

Jacques Pepin had a simple video on crepes. Can skip the sieve if you put a tiny bit of milk and mix it well. Once it's smooth, put the rest of the milk, no lumps! Put the melted butter directly into the batter so you have butter in each batter scoop. Also he put the batter at the edge of one side of the pan and rolled it around. You start it in the middle and it's just awkward 😂

Carbon steel works very well, and they don’t contain any harmful PFAS. There are some PFAS free ceramic nonstick pans, but they are not as nonstick as the ones with coating containing types of PFAS in the long run if with heavy use or machine washed, their nonstickness will fade to a level that is nonstick for sauté and stay there, works well even then. But for crepes, you will need to reserve one and perhaps hand wash it.
