We have them with lots of different fillings. We regularly have crepe evenings! Then we start with some kind of savoury filling and end with one or 2 sweet ones! I'll share our fillings with you: *The most traditional in South Africa is cinnamon-sugar that you sprinkle all over the crepe and then roll it like a swiss roll or cigar. For me, I add the lemon juice too! It is just delicious like that! *Caramel/Dulce de leche and banana *Nutella and banana *Caramel with a little whipped cream and n good sprinkle of grated/chopped mint chocolate *Pastry cream with fresh fruit of your choice or even just some cinnamon with that (that is a play on our traditional milktart we make here) *Your favourite preserve with a little whipped cream *Chocolate mousse with fresh strawberries Goodness, the sweet varieties are endless! Savoury fillings : *Mix grated cheese, chopped crispy bacon, finely chopped chives and a little mayonnaise *A creamy chicken & mushroom *Chicken & mayo (add a little curry powder and some finely diced tinned apricots for a lovely different variation) *Savoury mince and then you top it off with a delicious cheese sauce (this one is the favourite at my house) *Tuna, sautéed onion & green pepper mixed with white sauce or cheese sauce *Cream cheese with salmon *Cream cheese with salami/ham - these are ideal for a savoury platter. Roll the crepes tightly and cut in slices. They look beautiful on a platter *use it like you would a tortilla/wrap - it is not as strong though *use the crepes instead of pasta sheets when making a lasagna *you can make wonderfull crepe cakes I hope I have inspired you all to try out Carina's delicious crepes!

Small tip from a French who makes lots of crêpes : you can reduce the milk quantity just a little bit and substitute the quantity you have taken out with beer or rhum ; it gives them a wonderful taste... Either way, about two or three tablespoon would suffice...

One of my personal favorite fillings/toppings is a soft honey butter mixture with some lemon zest either incorporated or sprinkled on top.🍋The butter doesn’t have to be melted, just room temp enough to mix with honey. 50% Butter, 50% honey, or as you like. 🧈I love this video!! For the first time I decided to follow a recipe exactly lol I used to just “wing it”.🐝
This is a recipe that is tad over the top. I mean everything was spot on with the ingredients but the waiting part eh.. you really don't have to wait an hour. I thought there might be a slight difference if I do it like this, but I barely noticed the difference. Mixing it all together from the beginning and just tilting the pan works just as well. I'd say the most important thing is to make sure your pan is not overheated as it will burn the pancake below while you wait for the top to dry so you can flip it. And the texture of the crepe depends on your personal taste. If the mixture is too watery then they will turn out pretty thin and you'll have to eat more of them since they will be really light. If the mixture is thicker the pancakes will be chewier and just eating two will be too much. It's really a preference. While you're making the rest of the mixture, cover the pancakes with something so they remain warm. If they dry out they will crack when you're trying to roll them. I loved the lemon sugar combination. It was the first time I heard of it. Other than the Nutella version, I like to eat them with butter and honey, or marmalade with cinnamon powder. It's divine.
My favorite is when the crepes are buttery and crispy, mmm, that thin crisp is amazing. I love mine with Nutella but I suggest trying it with Bon Maman blueberry jam. That can be pretty dang yummy too!

BTW - twaróg is also one of the main ingredients of filling for Ruthenian pierogi (famous Polish national dish). Twaróg is also needed for sernik (popular cheese cake in Poland); twaróg isn't like cottage cheese, - peanut butter, - Nutella (from time to time, not always).

Hey thanks so much for your recipe. I just tried it and it worked so well. I put Nutella and strawberries with a dust of icing sugar. They were amazing. I bought a crepe pan and crepe tool to do this because I knew I would be making this regularly. 💕
This was so helpful I kept my lap top open in the kitchen to follow the steps. Many, many years ago, my wife and I had a New Year's morning tradition of making crepes using one of those electric pans with a hump in it that you dipped into the batter and then turn back hump up. We would eat them as we watched the Pasadena Rose Parade. But the crepes were very small and not at all like the ones I used to have as a student in Paris in the winter where there was a little dark green, wooden crepe cart at the entrance to the metro I used to get home from my college. Nothing like a hot crepe in the winter as the chill and damp winds blew down the broad boulevards and you have just escaped from the smells of damp wool and garlic combined with the scent of ozone from the electrical currents in the Metro. As a student I could not afford the crepes sprinkled with Grand Marnier but the sugar and lemon blew my socks off. I cannot think of crepes without those and the ones in St. Tropez coming to mind and making me drool. So I needed a recipe that even I, as husband, could make and make bigger without anything electric involved. So this was perfect. I did add a table spoon of vanilla though. I also used half and half (a thin cream) but had to use a bit more since it made the batter thicker. Tastes great though. I did also take Carina's suggestion of making the batter the night before, covering it with plastic wrap and leaving it in the fridge. No lumps and only tore because I had not let the first one cook enough. The rest were perfect. Strange shapes at first but tasted great. My filling was the same concoction I use under my home made sugar free (Zylitol) ice cream. I take a frozen red and black berry medley (available in most supermarkets) and put it in the micro for a minute or so. It not only thaws the berries but creates a berry juice-only syrup in the process. Vanilla ice cream plops on top. So for diabetics or pre-diabetics, you just have the fructose from the berries, not added sugar. So I stuffed the crepes (first one was a disaster since I did not have the heat high enough and tried to turn it too early!) with this mixture, I splashed some squirts little Grand Marinier over it with my thumb covering most of the bottle opening once it was folded into a flat cone and it was yummy! Messy as hell so be sure to wear water proof gear with a slide down the front. I also, on the second one, sprinkled a little Zylitol over the top which gave it that little bit of crunch I remembered from Paris. I also made one of those wooden crepe spreaders to wipe the batter around in a circle to make an even round crepe. Just a 6" bit of 3/4" wood half round trim or fully round dowel with a 5" screw as a handle. Works perfectly and if you bugger it up, just cut off some more of the trim or dowel and make another. I did season it with some Canola oil so the batter would not soak in and like Carina above kept it in a bowl of water so the batter would not dry on it. All in all a great thank you Carina for making our New Year's morning a return to tradition. It will become an instant tradition again. But now I am having ideas for lunch crepes as they serve in Normandy and Brittany. I remember them well with hard cider sitting at an outside table in a village alongside a small river with the rushing water as accompaniment. Those tactile, sensual memories seem to add a dimension to the taste. Not sure why but they do.
At my mums house (she's french) we would regularly have crepe evenings with both savoury and sweet pancakes. If you're having savoury I reccomend using a different flour if you can so the pancakes are darker. In france we call these galletes. We would usually put ham, a fried egg, cheese, and spinach, but you can really put whatever you have in your fridge. Then with crepes we had chocolate and banana most of the time (although occasionally my sister and I's british side took over and we couldn't resist a lemon and sugar one) If you have leftover crepes I reccomend having them for breakfast the next day with strawberry jam, it has a very breakfasty vibe to it and is delicious!
Best crepes recipe I've ever tried. Made it for French friends and was worried I wouldn't make them as good as in France but alas, they were perfect and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thanks so much.
Crepes is one of my regular item to order in the restaurant, but never cooked so far. With your recipe, maybe I can try to cook it at home. Thank you for your recipe and nice video!
Ever since I discovered your recipe I legit have made this every 2nd day! It's so easy to blender it! Thanks so much!! I make all types sweet, savory am thinking about mixing both one day! My fav that I've made so far has been Banana with fresh choco shavings and a tiny bit of peanut butter then some oreo ice cream or vanilla icecream! Damn it hits my sweet tooth everytime! My fam does like it when I put a egg in the middle for them. So easy to start up the pan and crank out a few of these beauties then still have leftover batter for the next craving (usually hours away haha) Overall great vid and recipe will use infinite times ! ∞/10

Why such a big deal about her sweet accent! I ran out of pancake mix so I decided to make it from scratch without a recipe. Then I had no syrup, so I made a thin batter and made crepes for the first time in my ten inch skillet. They came out out great. I served them with sour cream and jelly like my mom used to do. In Russian we called them blintzes. Today I’m making them with feta cheese and spinach. 👏
Dear Carina, i love your recipe for the french crepes and it is the only recipe that i now use. Twaróg is also needed for sernik (popular cheese cake in Poland); twaróg isn't like cottage cheese,
- peanut butter,
- Nutella (from time to time, not always).
I just tried making the batter! I will do my laundry while waiting for an hour or so! 😄 thanks for the video! I hope I did it right lol
How'd it go
These were AMAZING! I had them with Nutella and they’re so simple to make and easy to work with when on the pan.
I just made some using gluten free all purpose flour that contains xanthan gum. Came out great. Added a mix of Nutella and peach jam. Yummy!
In slovenia we call them pancakes. I add a bit of salt in, and i love them with nutella, homemade walnutts spread or Feta cheese.
Pancakes Nd crepes are the same thing but pancakes tends to be more thicke whereas crepes are thinner
04:17 - 04:24 gave me stroke i couldn't understand what shes saying. love the vid tho
Haha same
Same
I understood it lol
What she said "gluchen the flour"
Amahlia Paul she meant “gluten” but her accent made it sound different
This is my favorite recipe for crepes I’ve tried. I do add vanilla to the batter and fill with Nutella!! Yum 🤩
Why use nutella? There are healthier options!
Those crêpes are so nice and easy, thanks for the recipe‼️😂👌 I have made crêpes before and my favourite filling is whipped cream and strawberries. 🍓
I like it with nutella too 😋
You're welcome 😊Delicious!
Kira Singh which flour did she used for making crepes
Hi Pooja Baghel ! She used plain/ all purpose flour 😂
flambee the pitch of conag ,
Awesome, i really love how you explain each step in depth. I love this with lemon and brown sugar rather than icing sugar
That sounds delicious 🙂
Jordan fresh lemon juice? With sprinkle of brown sugar?

You are so good with simple, straightforward instructions. I could listen to you talk about anything.
Hey thanks so much for your recipe. I just tried it and it worked so well. I put Nutella and strawberries with a dust of icing sugar. They were amazing. I bought a crepe pan and crepe tool to do this because I knew I would be making this regularly. 💕
Thanks so much!!! I made a crepe cake with this recipe and it was MAGNIFICENT
I used to make crepe with plain flour n it turn out really good. For felling used strawberry jam, honey, lime and Nutella.
I love the aesthetic of the light colors

Yup, I had to open the subtitle to catch what she said.

@@kaschakanofski6988 It's her accent
Sound like she's talking by the end of her tongue.
AlexSDU lol that makes sense i’m from australia and i go to school with lots of kiwis, that’s probably why i didn’t notice it
kool kid I could have sworn she said Oral Purpose flour lol.
I started using a blender because this has become a family favorite. Thank you!
I tried and they turned out great! Thanks for the help!
Amazing recipe and the measurements are spot on. Came out incredibly tasty. Thank you!
This the only recipe without text above and difficult to understand what she talk about
I can’t wait to try some of the CrApEs
At my mums house (she's french) we would regularly have crepe evenings with both savoury and sweet pancakes.
If you're having savoury I reccomend using a different flour if you can so the pancakes are darker. In france we call these galletes. We would usually put ham, a fried egg, cheese, and spinach, but you can really put whatever you have in your fridge.
Then with crepes we had chocolate and banana most of the time (although occasionally my sister and I's british side took over and we couldn't resist a lemon and sugar one)
If you have leftover crepes I reccomend having them for breakfast the next day with strawberry jam, it has a very breakfasty vibe to it and is delicious!
Your videos its amazing.. Explain everything get me easy for make that delicious food ❤️❤️👍👍
My favourite filling is Philippine mangoes and chocolate syrup!👌🏼♥️
Best crepe recipe ever it turned out crispy from the outside and soft from the inside 😋
Beautiful presentation. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe.
Absolutely love the way she say “iggs”
Best crepes recipe I've ever tried. Made it for French friends and was worried I wouldn't make them as good as in France but alas, they were perfect and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thanks so much.
Made these this morning, they were brilliant, thanks!

When i make my crepes I add condensed milk to the mix and after

Nathaly Gonzalez Henriquez How much condensed milk do you add?
Crepes is one of my regular item to order in the restaurant, but never cooked so far. With your recipe, maybe I can try to cook it at home. Thank you for your recipe and nice video!
Beautiful. Thank you. Chicken Divan are my favorite!

Ok Thankyouuu! The crepes taste amazing btw😊
I just made it and added some Nutella, it was so light and delicious, gonna make it again for sure inshallah.

I worked at Gino’s Surf in Harrison Township, Michigan back in the mid 80s and I loved making blueberry blintzes.

Fillling Idea: tomato cheese and Oregano!!!
I might try that if/when I make these, I've neglected the poor crepe pan in a cabinet for far too long
Basically pizza
Dear Carina, i love your recipe for the french crepes and it is the only recipe that i now use. My favorite filling is equal parts of cream cheese and sour cream mixture topped the some sour cream and home made strawberry preserve or peach preserve!!!🙏😋👨🍳, thanks a whole bunch for this recipe, i love it! Yeah she definitely made this waaaaay more complicated than it needed to be I went to a different video lol sorry girlfriend
You can just say you’re lazy girl
@@lavaqabeltrana2136 , I mean 6 minutes to explain to mix dry and wet ingredients without making lumps seems excessive.
OMG I LOVE HER ACCENT😍😍😍
Best recipe I've ever found and works they were delicious. Spread with nutella and banana and blueberries on top.
I remember always making crepes and thinking they were pancakes
