Thanks for this video man, this video helped me a lot, my Intel i7 lga 1200 are performing way better now with 4.8 ghz and 1.3 voltage, and I gained more FPS and its stable now on the temps. I did everything you showed except the EIST being disabled I left it on, so the clocks go down when I don't game,and I completely disabled enhanced boost, left Intel boost on, and the rest was replica of this video.

My 4690 seems to run at 4.2ghz @ 1.224 V. But only with turbo on? I'm unsure about the differences of the options. I can set single cores Multi to 40 and increase my base clock. I firstly focused on the turbo options but I'm wondering if I need to go the base clock / turbo off route? Or manage it through ring / multiplier? What is the difference. It crashes and microstutters a lot at 4.3ghz though. Even if the temperatures are fine.
I use obs to stream but using nvenc to encode. Will avx off affect that?

Hello, I'm using i9-9900k , MSI MEG ACE Z390 and ARCTIC FREEZER 2 360. I cannot OC my CPU to 5GHz or 4.9GHz. This mobo has 2 8pin CPU power but my PSU has only 1 8pin. Is this the problem? I watched many videos on YT and most of Overclocker using only 1 8pin. Thanks for answers and thank u FR33THY for those videos!

I dont think he will do anything more than enabling XMP , since its time consuming and every ram is different.. also the gains are minimal so its not worth the time for most people..

Does OBS use any AVX instructions while encoding via NVENC? I assume it uses plenty with x264 but not sure about other encoders.

Im trying to OC my i9-12900k on a AsRock z690, using Intel XTU for now still experimenting with 5.2-5.4ghz Pcore ratio and 4ghz Ecore ratio. If i had the knowledge to do the changes in UEFI i would, i could probably optimize the settings alot more if i could pick fr33thy's brain. Offset voltage is +0.050 AVX +1.00, im on Windows 11.
Edit: Im now running OC from UEFI instead, P-cores all clock 5.2ghz, E-cores 3.9ghz, AVX2 offset 2x. However im not sure if the VID is something i should try to match? VID is max 1.487 when gaming, and my voltage is set to 1.450, it say 1.464 maximun in HWiNFO. If anyone knows the answer to this ill gladly appreciate it:)

The problem I have is when enabling xmp 1 or 2 my vccio get a voltage of 1,48 and system.. 1,38 volt
Is it ok or what voltage I need to put in or is safe ?

@@noone-fu1yq vccio 1.2 and 1.3 for vcore is a good start. Id start with bumping vcore if any issues
I have a Kraken 360mm and it does fine, should I get the Arctic Freeze II? CPU idles at 52 at 5.2 GHz, but only gets to 64 at load/game. 4 140mm fans push/pull at 2200 rpm.
i wouldn't bother. just make sure that in nzxt cam the pump speed is set to fixed.
@@mylostsanctuary my msi trio x 3080ti can Not clock past +110 on the core and +123 on the memory, I'm assuming thermal pads is the cause? have already flashed the Suprimx bios which lowered temps to 50 degrees, it ALSO for some reason lowered my CPU temps by doing the flash I've lost my old or stock gpu bios flash so there's no going back unless someone posts it online somewhere

Does much of this apply to 12th gen? I just swapped over to a 12700kf from an AMD 3800x.
I need singlecore performance for DCS (digital combat simulation) in VR -- at least until they finally swap over to Vulkan.
I'd love some quick settings to get a good stable "daily driver" OC, and something for single thread just for DCS.
The menu's in these BIOS are fucking crazy, just gimme the good ole basic shit, or at least sort it out to a few different pages so its not a giant clusterfuck of random shit.

@@punksnotdead518 Nah, I swapped to 14700k for now, and reverted back to "stock" intel wattage settings due to the recent intel/mobo autism they fucking pushed out.
currently running 253w PL1&2 @ 400a with +2 on the turbo offset. Stablest its ever been and actually picked up score in Cinebench.
A lot of these overclock guides are trash now, with 12/13/14th gen, as the temps are more of an issue than anyone realized...
what about using 2 vs 4 ram sticks? and what about 11700k vs 10900k?
2x16 dual rank b-die has the best OC potential. 10900k is only better than a 11700k if tuned properly. 11700k out of the box with gear 1 is probably better than stock 10900k with 3600mhz ram. Always buy 4400mhz kits for 10th gen chips to take advantage of them

Dude i am sorry, ur guides might be good but doing overclock on 3080 and me having 2070, didnt work at all, i followed ur guide and in Ac valhalla it started crashing eneded up with blue screen, not saying that bf2042 is unplayable...good efforts though

Lover youre guides, did total reset, and all of the optimizations and so on. And i see about 30 more fps and i dont realy dip under 100 in bf2042 wich maybe not is a good benchmark.
I have a desent setup. Intel 9700k, 32gb ram 3600mhz (but in bios it says 3200). A asus rog 390 gaming motherboard (where i have optimized according to youre video and turend of averyting i dont need). I have a mzi gaming x trio RTX2080. I have a coolermaster watercooler. And it realy keeps my cpu cold.
So im in the part where we start to overclock. I have never been intrerested in this. But since i dont want to upgrade now when we are close to next gen both in intel processors and ddr5 i want to get a little more ouf out of what i have.
But when i try asus own AI overlock or follow a guide that gives me ghz i get a bunch of different bluescreens and my grahphics drivers crashes.
And what i remember this use to be to much Voltage and heat?
What would you try first? Could it be a bad ram stick? The fakt that they dont go in 3600 wich it supposed to..

its weird that 9700k/9900k the maximum is 1.35v when the 8700k/8086k/8600k can do up to 1.45v
You can do 1.4v on newer intel chips if you have good enough cooling. It will still last 5 years

Lollol followed steps. Now cpu is stuck at 4.7ghz while I have it set at 5.5. This is on 13th gen. I’m gonna use Skatterbencher his tutorial

@@iDeker k means unloved cpu for overclocking and non k means you can't overclock. You buy a non k to save money because everything is locked. You can always buy a kf which is unlocked but doesn't have a integrated graphics card

Move country to the closest gaming server thats the only thing you can do that makes a big difference
