I just discovered this channel by watching a youtube video of a guy named Silk doing some settings for BF5 and in the end he was mentioning this channel and wow... So much interesting and really really good stuff. Thx alot for your work. Anyway... i was watching/doing the GPU Overclock Guide video and it was going well until i tuned my memory clock too high... I got a hard crash and had to restart my computer just to experience that even without saving/having any profiles in MSI Afterburner , it applied those settings again after restart freezing my computer after a few sec after logging into windows and then my monitors went black and without any signal... So everytime i restarted the computer the wrong settings were applied in Afterburner and it froze... After googling i found a very useful and simple trick to solve it.... and that was to hold CTRL button during login to windows. Then MSI Afterburner WONT apply the latest settings and while holding the CTRL button i could adjust my memory clock back again... When i released the CTRL button the computer froze again, but then after next restart the changes i did was applied. I have used MSI Afterburner for years and never knew of this easy solution

Hey man I’m a little late but thank you so much for making this! I managed to get my 2060 up 125 for my core clock and 850 for memory! It was a little weird though my numbers for 1080p extreme were a bit worse than 4k.
Well ur not the only one. My 2060 got 2000 points less on 1080p compared to 4k. I think its because 4k is fps optimized
@FR33THY In regards to the Core Voltage slider-- before today I was with you and believed it didn't really do anything on the newer cards, but I just fiddled around with my OC settings again for fun and noticed that my core clock and GPU voltage will increase if I set the core voltage to +100%. I get an increase of 0.025volts and anywhere between +25-50mhz to the core clock. To further complicate things, I noticed that applying the Force Constant Voltage setting in MSI will give me different results, sometimes better sometimes not. I'm running a Gigabyte RTX 3080 GAMING OC 10GB and I recently flashed to custom bios version 94.02.42.40.33. As an added note, my benchmark software for this "test" was the Warzone lobby screen in windowed mode (where you choose which Warzone mode to play). I'll have to play with this more to conclude if any stability issues come along with this or not, but I figured I'd at least share with someone whom might care to know. My apologies for the long comment :P Cheers!

With no overclocks it hits 1980 and under heavy load goes down to 1920
My problem is it has very small frame time stutter.
I assume it's because my card can only pull 375 watts max.
Like I don't get it though the card never crashes but seeing your power draw at those clock speeds something must be wrong for my card wanting to hit high 1900s with 1 less power connector than yours right

Do you restart the PC before every score benchmark so the scheduler will auto apply the overclock and MSI Afterburner will be closed, hence less input latency? I wasn't aware that MSI Afterburner adds latency, I always have it on in the background when benchmarking to find ideal clocks.
Edit: Do you set a manual fan curve for your client or just set a constant custom speed?

Yo FR33THY turns out you can set custom fan curves without having to run MSI Afterburner. Depending on your GPU it can save a basic fan curve with 3 nodes on a firmware level so no software needed :)

One question is whenever I enable resizable bar in bios My pc keeps rebooting to bios with no option to override boot or anything it’s as if my SSD doesn’t exist. Resetting the resizable bar to disabled let’s me boot back to windows however. Any help there would be great !
Hi Thomas, i had same issues that you are telling. There isn't so much videos explaning how to enable without those troubles. But luckly I was able to fix them! You should check 3 steps to enable resizable bar without your system rebooting:
First you should check if your windows version on system info is installed was LEGACY or UEFI. If is UEFI go to step 2, if is not you can convert it on the cmd (don't forget to run as administrator with [ MBR2GPT.EXE /convert /allowfullos ].
Second, in your mobo bios you should disable CSM on boot preferences and select the Windows boot manager.
Third, make sure your vbios is updated to last version, check on the website from manufacturer.

Don’t see why you shouldn’t. Every card can be over clocked. The more fans the better. I suggest overclocking with 2 gpu fans or more for maximum gain.
I’m just dialing in my OC while I follow along with the video now.
Currently settled on a +190 Core Clock. And a +1250 Memory Clock.

Your channel is very good, but unfortunate Superposition is not the most suitable program for test GPU OC stability. Sometimes with stable frequencies in Superposition you run tymespy or FireStrike and the program crash instant.
Any advice? Got 3080 + 125core and +800 mem stable in Superposition and in the others test I cannot run even at +100 core +500mem :(
My 3080 was holding stable at +250 on core clock in the 8k optimized, 1080p extreme, and the game version. Only problem is Fortnite would crash every time trying to load into a game. So I had to bump it down to 150 to get it to load and then 140 after getting a few hitches.
I recently purchased a founders edition 3070 ti for msrp, should I keep it or try and get a separate board partners card?
Had what appeared to be a nice stable overclock on my 3070, had some great improvements on benchmark. Went to Fortnite and 3 times in a row it crashed and it had to reboot, would that be the memory being too high or core clock???
Biggest question I have is should you still disable hpet and get an even timer resolution of .50 ?

You have a hyper saturated Windows OS right? I put together a bunch of your videos after finally getting around to seeing what was up with the windows 11 CPU utilization, realized in the last few months you put together some pretty badass looking overclock guides from the look of it, something I can't get enough of especially with the rising system I've been putting off building for 8000 different reasons, a large amount being that I have high-speed Intel RAM and I know I'm going to have to tear them apart to match timings to get what I want out of it.. and there's always that nagging fear of Windows fucking with me the moment I put the system together, kind of vowed over 6 months ago now that would build the perfect custom ROM till I realized that you can't do that and windows will always win, then I vowed to build the perfect script to keep windows at Bay, then Windows 11 came out..
The reason I mentioned that OS is kind of funny I I just redid my color for my OLED, kind of got the fascination that I can actually put up with way less brightness than I thought I could, soin order to make sure my color settings would take in my head space I recalibrated my phones to match it, one of which is easy the other which that's easier to read on not so much.. ended up on a color matching rabbit hole,l.
I finally got around to getting back to your video I just was sitting there looking at it like his folders is yellow.... did I fuck up? LOL I'm pretty sure it's it's just yellow, hopefully lol. Funny thing is I first found your channel trying to find decent tutorials for Cru to upscale for the TV cuz this was back when NVIDIA drivers were just super fucked, so I thought I was doing something wrong but turns out you still need to use Cru if you want to get a customer resolution with decent color depth or HDR etc.. I'm still not exactly sure how to finagle it, unfortunately your video and my purposes kind of split ways but I'm glad I checked back in because you got some really cool stuff up as a recently.
I always check back in on occasion for your windows optimizations, but usually can't do much with them because they're plug and play designed but a scan through for the gold, see if they're saying Ted bits in there, convenient as fuck that you have a ryzen ram timings video even if it's probably not going to help much given the bdie is pretty much a non thing anymore with any of the newer kits, at least any of the newer high-end kits... Still the more the better :-) it helps that you're actually overclocking ram to actually get something out of it instead of just trying to get a score, that's the other problem with overclocking videos, looking at you buildzoid lol.
It's too bad that it's like two steps forward four steps back with the custom roms these days, took me a while to figure out that basically the only way to get a clean windows and to keep it clean is to basically run scripts every single update, on my Windows 10 home version I managed to find a stalemate with Windows update, have it blocked on several angles and I disable it every single time I run my computer, and then you know when it turns on again while I'm running it LOL and so far everything's more or less stable... Go figure that I actually have some sort of comprehension how to run my computer and what I want my computer to run and how I want it to run it rather than Microsoft obsession with trying to do that for me... I gave it more than enough chances and it fucked up on every turn lol.

its crazy how much GPU oc reduces input lag, even at capped FPS. I get much lower GPU usage now, which saves me a couple of MS!
what did you do to get lower input lag? (i have low gpu usage and high input lag i don't know how to fix this so answer me please)
@@RGGR31 I basically followed freethys guides. There are 1000 Tweaks you can do which "can" help input lag. Just watch his videos. I recommend to reinstall windows and then apply any tweaks.

It's basically the same as msi afterburner, but afterburner allows you to enable the overclock profile on system startup and doesn't require afterburner to launch. that's why most people prefer afterburner over precision x
So, something odd that occurs whenever I bios switch my evga rtx 3080 to OC mode is that my screen has some weird vhs style glitch that occurs. Any fix for that?

I have a problem where I overclock my rx580 with msi after burner my game crashes but if I use the amd software it doesn’t but the only way to do that is with the non striped amd driver

@@prestlessfps no, on newer windows builds it increases memory latency. The bcdedits were used for the earlier builds like 1709. It’s pointless to use them now on the newer windows builds

I have old laptop and it has nvidia 750m GPU when i run first benchmark everything is fine my Graphics and Memory Mhz are like 1k and 12fps average, but at second run everything is downlocked now I get Graphics 400mhz and mem 800 and average fps is like 5 even with the same settings after restart pc everything resets, my GPU is like on power saving mode somehow, I use bitsum power plan, everything max performance nvidia.. help
I did this for mining Ethereum at the start of 2021 but some reason don't run any kind of gpu oc on my gtx 1080 now for gaming with my 3900x. Probably should considering I should really upgrade my GPU but can't afford to just yet. 26:00 you can see the hot spot temperature was 82 degrees which is a bit worrying so yeah already I would say memory is being really choked

aser released a 390 hz monitor without goodies clean 390hz I have one I bought in Poland and they are probably in Germany but not for long acer nitro xv252qf chris get this monitor and test because it is king hz and it will be for some time
it’s not the 390hz that makes it so good, it’s because of the backlight strobing + 390hz at the same time. Tbh when benq release their new flagship it will make that monitor irrelevant unless Acer drops the price to $350
Hey man, i know you're busy and stuff, and i also know you may not see this comment, or maybe this isnt even the right place for it to be, or even the right video, but , if you are lucky enough to see it, listen here, to my words.
I am a subscriber since a long time ago, and during these beautiful years and moments, i have noticed something terribile, that keeps sitting up on my head, and, because i ama devotated man I would like to tell you that I've seen very much confusion in your old and even newer videos. For example, you have 4 (or more, haven't counted) playlists named "Windows 10 Optimization", and all of those videos say something slightly different every time. I appreciate the new videos trying to clear up the confusion made in the past, yet your newer optimizations include 50% less tweaks, such as : No more in depth bloatware removal, no more nvidia debloat like in the 20h2 video or its own separate one, no more win aero tweaker, no more settings and control panel tweaks like in "Windows Performance Guide and More" or other videos which i cannot remember at this time. What im trying to say is that me, and many more subscriber/ or viewers are in this situation, in which we don't know what video to follow because it one has more tweaks in it and one doesn't. And no, I don't want you to delete your old videos, i just want you to clear it up for us.

@Nova Ok so, since i had a lot of free time today, I did a little bit of testing on my pc, one where i only used this video, and other where i used a lot of old videos, and videos from other channels, like registry tweaks, disabling a lot of apps, settings etc (Wich takes a lot of fucking time). I upgraded my BIOS, then fresh installed Windows for both of the tests. And... The results are mind blowing!
There is only a difference of 15-20 fps in most games i tested, and the input lag tends to be a little bit lower on the very optimized one, but, it has a lot of features disabled, and i mean it when i say by A LOT. A normal PC user wouldn't like the more optimized one, and now i know why.
As far as i can tell it was just my mind playing tricks with me, because man like FR33THY has no reason to spread false information.
Do you know why COD doesn't run well with a stable OC ? I ran my benchmarks and my end result was stable but as soon as i play, about 20 in random crash and dev error 6068?
do you play with ray tracing? ray tracing use more power then non rtx software

Same for me, I can't overclock at all or it will crash.
Warzone is a gpu killer, i have a profile in afterburner for warzone running stock settings for stability and a +150 core, +1000 memory for every other game. If you play 1080p warzone you wont notice the difference between stock and overclock though.

It’s nearly impossible to kill a GPU overclocking because of the power delivery in GPUS now of days. You can’t really overvolt GPUs unless you flash an extreme OC bios

dont recommend pushing your card that much for 8% performance increase, you can just crank the power limit and voltage max and you get 5%, plus u didnt try +750 or +500 mhz on card memory, it could be even better for performance because its more stable and it could be more suitable for the card itself. All in all good video to push the absolute max.

My overclock is crazy for my GPU im still using a GTX 1060ti sc and it normally boostes to 1950 mhrz but with a +65 on the core it OC to 2025 mhrz.

Idk if every gpu cooler is similar in terms of durability/longevity, but I really have been running my 1080's single blower at 100% 8+ hours a day for almost 4 years. Kinda crazy to me that it's still going strong. The GPU will probably die before the blower does LOL

warzone is the best stability test for gpus, it will shit on your gpu even at stock settings if you have weak power delivery. Superposition +150 core clock, +1000 memory clock, warzone underclocked -30 😂

Unless you are running liquid forget about overclocking a 30 series card this way. What you want to do is overclock plus undervolt at the same time. 30 series cads down clock with higher temps. Unless you have insane cooling or put the card on liquid, you must undervolt . I have a ftw3 3080ti and i found that my card runs best at about .950v and 2000 mhz on the card with a custom fan curve. Card boosts between 1950 and 2000mhz with temps under 70 C under 99% load. My custom fan curve only allows the fan to go up to 1900 rpm which is not that loud at all. This is a good video overall but not very realistic in actual games. Btw i have a terrible case with super bad ventilation so most people can get way better results than I can.
btw superposition score at 8k is 8154 with +220 core and +700 memory at full fan speed
Damn, you got a good EVGA 3080ti. Mine crashes at 2ghz at 1.05v. I am not using 3 separate VGA PSU cables, so that might be the culprit. Is your power slider maxed as well? (Stock vbios or XOC?)
However, my micron memory can go up to +1100mhz just fine (played warzone for 6 hours without crashing), guess I got lucky with my memory?
