    Are you using a soft bristle fan brush or the harder one? Can I use a mop brush for blending?

    • @artpartyunlimited
      @artpartyunlimited  3 месяца назад

      The question on the fan brush is actually a tough one. Mine is the firmer bristle brush from a previous manufacturer of the Bob Ross line. The new brushes are much softer from the new manufacturer.
      Blending with a mop is great if you know how to use it well. I do love the Bob Ross mops that came out last year. I threw out all my other mops in favor of that one.
      Good luck!

    Since paint is usually a few days drying, I always wondered why Bob didn't take his time and give two segments and thoroughly finishing at least some of his paintings instead of the rush job 27 minutes. He clearly was not happy with some of the time devoted to a project. And some, he clearly was crushing past finishing some parts to a painting instead of making it a 2 part painting.

      It has always baffled me why all involved insisted on wet on wet paintings exclusively.

    Excellent! New subbed. So, Bob was a decent teacher but he left out a lot of these details. Thank you! I never understood why ole Bob was always in such a hurry. I heard him say on occasion that it was not easy to find WHAT he was going to paint. Slow down Bob! At least once I awhile. Make a two day painting once in awhile! Once a week! Start a painting, complete it tomorrow! Heck, do it every day! My first paintings, I found myself racing. Then I came across "Paint with Bram" who is also an excellent instructor but takes his time. Thanks for this and keep up the good work man!
    BTW "beating the devil out of it" is a terrible practice. Using a pole to beat your brush dry after cleaning it with paint thinner. It atomizes/aerosols those chemicals, which you then inhale. This will give you cancer as well as damage your brain. Use safer method of wiping dry with paper towels.

      Thanks so much for your comments. Bob was in a hurry because he literally only had 27 minutes from start to finish for each episode to paint it live and be finished. Many times on the episodes he encourages you to slow down and take your time, so I'm glad you are doing that. I also tell people to paint in layers, slowly, instead of trying to jam a bunch of paint onto a canvas. The results are so much better if you slow down, for sure.
      I am also generally a solvent free guy, so I use linseed oil to clean my brushes and I make a special soap to clean my brushes when I'm all done.
      Thanks for watching!

    How do you make your soap?

    • @artpartyunlimited
      @artpartyunlimited  9 месяцев назад

      My soap is made from linseed and safflower oils. My own recipe. I will have some available soon. I only make it a couple of times a year so it it difficult to get! It really is the best, though.
