I hope you keep the content coming. You are one of the best art teachers I’ve seen and I watch A LOT of art RUclips videos. Thanks for this video. You helped me with clouds one time in your class a couple of years ago. This is a good refresher.
Hi Beth! So good to hear from you again! Thank you for your supportive words. As you know I love to teach and I'm so happy you enjoyed both the class and the video! I will be doing more. I have just finished one on reductive painting with GOLDEN's OPEN acrylics. I think you'll have fun with that. In the meantime, paint a cloud and hashtag #cloudpaintingchallenge and then we can see everyone's beautiful work! Take care.
Thank you Penni! I'm doing a video now painting persimmons in both acrylic and oil using Holbein paints...stay tuned....I think you will like this one. I appreciate your commenting on my video. Thank you so much, it means a lot!
You are just amazing when painting clouds. So beautiful and inspiring work of art. I truly loved all the combinations of colors in each painting. Thanks so much for the time and effort in producing the videos. Many blessings and be safe. Greetings from Champaign, Illinois. I will be so happy to see more of your videos.
I love the sky you are doing, the clouds are so beautiful. I like the blues you are using, it's such a clear shade of blue. You make it all look so simple. Thank you.
Hey Jenna, I am using different brushes. I really feel that when you are starting out as a painter, you need to get one of each type of brush, for example, a Filbert, Round, Flat, Angle, Mop etc. Tools are very personal. What works for one person won't be ideal for another. It's just the way it goes. And, I've gone through different phases where I mainly paint with a Filbert then 2 years later I only want to use a flat brush. So, that being said, I have also in my collection, a great many of worn out brushes. Sometimes those brushes are the best ones for making soft edges like clouds. So try different brushes to feel yourself all the different ways they work for you. Each one has its own personality so to speak. I would suggest to you that synthetic brushes (nylon types) are great and inexpensive. I have purchases $50 brushes by famous makers that shed and $4 brushes by a brand Michael's sells that works great. So, I don't get too caught up in the hype about brushes. I like certain ones by certain brands. I like Black/Gold by Dynasty, Princeton's synthetic, Da Vinci Brushes...many of them...Even Plaza Art Store has their line which I adore. I wish you best of luck with your art.
Aw, Reba McEntire is the sweetest woman ever. I'm so glad you joined me and please tell her thank you again for me! New painting video coming out next week. I hope you'll paint with me Nina!

the title says cloud in oil?
Hello Katharine it is painted in oil, the base is painted in acrylics. It’s just the undertone. The rest is oil. Hope you enjoy it. 👍🎨😀
why you paint flat?
I painted this flat so that I could videotape it above. Just easier to videotape that way. Normally I paint on an easel. :-) Have a nice day.
It's amazing
