    You are really so helpful with these! I have a request for you to do the Island in the Wilderness Bob Ross classic but in gold. Those rare days where the sunset is a pure shade of golden yellow. I always felt that it's one of the hardest kinds of paintings to get right. Maybe because yellow paint is kind of the opposite of how yellow is created from the sun ie a Sum of Red and Green wavelengths.

      Hi and thanks for watching. Sorry about that with the music. I did a few without background music and folk complained that they missed it 😣I have turned it down to a very much lower volume and have discovered a setting on editing called audio ducking where the background music drops out almost completely when I speak. I hope to see you for some more painting fun soon. 😎

    Thank you for painting Valley View! I had a little trouble with this one and had to redo it. My grass on the mountain looked horrible so I let it dry, put white gesso on the top half, let it dry then did it again😜 It turned out much better the 2nd time.
    I've learned a lot from your tutorials. I've watched a hundred Bob Ross videos but you explain things so well that I've learned even more from you. Keep up the great work! I truly appreciate your tutorials 😊

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  Год назад

      You're very welcome Amy. AS you saw in my video I also had trouble with the pesky grass slopes so your not alone. Take care adding gesso over oils. Gesso's are traditionally applied to the canvas before oils. Oils being, well oilly tend not to let water based paints like gesso sticj too well. So watch out for any peeling. Hopefully you'll be fine. More videos on the way including some of my own stuff just for fun😃🥰

    Thank you, I’m now comfortable with starting mountains. I needed to see exactly how to load the knife, how to hold the knife, and how much pressure (or lack of!) to make high/low lights. I’m wondering, how do most students practice before creating a finished painting? Would one practice just mountains on a canvas and then clean it off? I don’t want to waste canvases. I have canvas paper, would it work to tape that to a canvas, to get the bounce back of a canvas, and disposing of the paper?

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  Год назад +1

      Hi Stephanie - I certainly did a few practice mountains before embarking on a full blown painting. Don't forget to prep the canvas with a thin, thin coat of liquid white and maybe a hint of colour for the sky. This ensures your practice will be the same as if you were painting a full painting. Then scrape off the paint and start again. It wont matter too much if the colours are a little off. Its the technique that matters. Canvas paper taped to a canvas is a perfect for practice work. I often used a canvas with its celophane still on. Have fun and take regular breaks. It will take a little practice. 😃

    This is perfect lesson for refining my mountains technique...thank you 😊 question....what is the liquid black used for? I have not seen anyone use it.... just curious 🤔

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  Год назад

      Liquid black isn't used much. I think it was a good idea for a few paintings but not as appealing as liquid clear over black gesso which gives more scope for painting, However, I have a few tutorials for it - here's one ruclips.net/video/0vk_MDEIM18/видео.htmlsi=y2MQMLfKAtv-4JGc 😍😎

    The green behind the trees on the bottom half of the mountains looks really out of place. Perhaps a few more layers of trees rather than just stipled looking grass.
