- After extensive traveling in 2015, Christine finally has a little time off to spend at home in Houston, Texas. It’s a leisure Saturday, and Christine and John check out some local eats, including British-influenced Hunky Dory and her friend’s food truck, The Lucky Fig, run by none other than MasterChef season 4 winner, Luca Manfé himself. Since winning the title, Luca has moved from New York to Houston and opened his very own thriving food truck serving elevated Italian cuisine.

+cynventure1 probably because it is astronomically expensive and competitive. Everyone whose anyone have something in New York. He's going to need a ton more money before he can push into New York with a fancy spot.

oh, and my favourite Luca moment occurred when he gave another contestant and ingredient they were short of. .
To me that showed he has a good heart, as well as great cooking skills X
Jessie, she needed butter for her kobe beef. The other contestant decided not to share her butter(even though she had three sticks just sitting there unused), and without even being asked, Luca tossed Jessie a stick of butter.
The world needs more Luca's.

That’s why I am watching this 😊. I just watched the episode where he used fish sauce in a risotto. And although it wasn’t a good idea, I thought Luca was adorable when he said “because she likes fish sauce”
He was like “I got the master chef at my food truck” as if he himself isn’t a master chef

Luca must've been grateful to Gordon for sending him home in S3 because there's no way he could have beaten Christine! Nevertheless they're both fantastic.

They’re both amazing in their own rights, for me it’s always a draw between those two
they wouldve been great finalists in s3 if luca had the skill that he had in s4

My favorite Luca moment is when he cooked the banana cake and he thought it was undercooked and I just smiled so hard when he realized he cooked it perfectly

You have no idea how much I adore and respect you guys. I always cheered for you in season 3, shed tears everytime you are praised and present great food for the judges. You are such an inspiration. Luca? I love him SO much. He's fun and creative. He knows what he wants and has the passion to push forward. Not to mention that he's a real sport. That moment he threw a stick of butter to his competitor, I was like, "You're the man, Luca!" I was rooting for him since the auditions. My family has their favorites but mine was always Luca. I'm so happy for the both of you!

I dropped off the interwebs for awhile to sell my house and move and I didn't realize Luca moved to Houston until this post!! I'm super excited that my 2 favorite Master Chefs live in my city and I am so stopping by Luca's truck as soon as I get back from San Antonio!!

I'm a little bit dissapointed on Luca, he deserves more than just a food truck. I dont know if it is his dream or just want to start from scratch. BTW, it's good to see you again Christine! We love You!

Thinking about it, him starting with a food truck makes a lot of business sense: the overheads are smaller; you aren't hit with expensive taxes; you don't have to worry about suppliers, as you can source your ingredients by yourself, and they are turned over much more quickly; and since it is a food truck, you don't have to worry about table turnover; and you can have the menu as big as your ability to serve from it ...
Also, in these times, restaurants fail so easily ... one near me has changed hands three times, with two different cusines, in less than two years, and now it is empty again ...
Perhaps one day, when he feels more confident in his business acumen, he will open a small restaurant, with limited covers, and take it from there ...
But until then, the lucky folks around there get fine dining quality eating, at street food prices ... can't beat that ...

The nice thing about a food truck is that you can go right where the potential customers are, rather than waiting for them to come to you.
Actually, it's a good start. With food truck, he started small, with low risk, while slowly building his brand. So, when he settle to open a restaurant, people already know him and start to come. Don't forget that business has to grow and adapt.

people are so dumb. they actually think such a high profile person as the WINNER OF MASTERCHEF can fake being blind??? lmao you think people in real life who know her wouldn't have called her out by now if she was lying? please.... stop being ridiculous. respect her and stop asking if she's still (??) blind.
To think on the broader aspect, she probably gave a part of her winnings to people who actually knew she was faking? I'm not trying to be hateful, blind or not blind, the judges said right at the beginning of s3 that she'll be judged like every other competitor, so she won because of culinary skills not because of any extra advantages.
I love these two Masterchef winners support each other.

I feel like food truck food is severely underestimated. In California, food truck culture (depending on area) can very rich and in demand, and the possibilities really depends on who's running the truck and how they take their opportunities
