- Hello!!!! I can’t apologize enough for taking such a long hiatus, but I am so excited to finally share this video with you. Also can we just talk about the fact that I’m now at 20k subs?! You guys are the best. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
I kept running into issues while filming the Q&A (hence why the lighting is messed up / I didn’t get to answer all of your questions) and it was supposed to be a mukbang yet I didn’t actually eat while answering questions lololol but I PROMISE to do a part 2!!
My goal for 2022 is to focus on YT a lot more seriously and I can't wait to share all the videos I have planned. I love you all :)

I still can’t believe Joe had the gall to tell Ahran “why would we play favorites” when they’d were clearly playing favorites with Courtney lmfao. Ahran called them out on their smelly bullshit and he knew it. Courtney should’ve gone home during that donut challenge.

Honestly the Leslie-Ahran character arc was my favourite part of that season, I’m glad they’re still friends.

Ngl, I didn't even finish season 5 yet but you and Leslie were my favorite duo, it was so sad seeing you go as I thought you should have definitely been in the top 5. Either way, doesn't really matter anymore. It's just that you inspired me to start cooking, I myself am 18 years old now and never even touched a frying pan before in my life but now thanks to you am becoming more and more interested in the kitchen. So I am definitely looking forward to your upcoming videos!
If you never cook before the best time to start is NOW.
Cooking is fun (except the cleaning up afterwards or if you work in professional kitchen) , it can be challenging but very satisfying when you achieve your final result (or the result that you like) and even better when you serve the food to someone and they genuinely like it.
I think people forget how young you were in that show! I thought I was going to be a doctor when I was 18- and now I’m working at a school. We all change. I’m excited to see that you’re posting ❤️

I am so sorry to hear that you were hurt after MasterChef, I would have never thought that the show (being highly regarded and full of dreams ) would leave even somewhat of a negative impact.

Ahran, I genuinely sobbed when you and Leslie had to say goodbye during that double elimination pressure test. I felt like that was the one test I wish that there was not a double elimination situation.

You actually made me learn about Asian cooking and recipes. I used to get just takeout, because I was a Puerto Rican teenager who only ever had takeout chinese. I watched your season of Master Chef and all of your recipes looked so good. I started researching how to cook more advanced dishes, researching food traditions, before I knew it I was studying the culture and history as well and really enjoying it. I also learned to really appreciate things like hot pot dishes and korean barbeque, which back when I first watched your season (I was 18 myself!) was stuff no one in my family would even be OPEN TO.
Now, my family LOVES when I experiment and try out new dishes from different cultures. One of my favorites is Japanese style curry.
Watching some of your challenge dishes, also made me realize there was ways to elevate things that seemed "Simple" but in nature were kinda complicated. I know you said, you thought you got by on your age mostly but genuinely... You did inspire me. You and Christine Ha were my favorite contestants in your respective seasons and I learned a lot about just being unafraid to try new recipes and honestly make up new recipes *inspired* by other dishes too.
You seem so down to earth! I was smiling throughout the whole video watching you answer these questions. I know this one comment won't mean a lot to you, but you are amazing for sharing your experiences from Masterchef. :) Much love from Canada!

I thought your reserved nature and cute face was what really made me pay more attention to you, and then your relationship with Leslie made me root for you and him. I was such a little shit at 18, but looking back, we change so much.
At that age I was set on going to Berkeley for Pre Med, but ended up going to Cal Poly Humboldt and now a Forester lol. Funny how that works out.

i first watched season 5 when it came out and i was around 12 years old.. now i’m 19 and i can’t imagine being on masterchef at age 18 😭 i can only imagine how it was being around grown adults and cameras all the time..
Honestly i loved your series, it had some really great contestants as well, Especially you, Leslie and Jaymee. I'm glad you and Leslie are still friends, your arc was definitely great to see.
It really makes me happy to see you and Leslie are still friends :) even if it was heavily dramatized by the editing, I just loved watching you two going from snipping at each other about everything to being real friends with each other. And when you came out to cook for Leslie, omg, it was amazing. It was just a wonderful story of two people learning to actually understand each other.

I found this video after a bit of a memory trip through old Masterchef videos and some Leslie memes, like many other people here, ngl haha. It's nice to see you and Leslie actually became friends after the show ended! I also once partipated in a big contest in my country and the pressure from people's attention was crazy since the things they see on TV don't always portray how we really are, like you said. It's great seeing you move on with life and not let a competition experience far in the past affect you too much, I feel relatable watching your videos. You seem like a very sweet girl, don't let the mean comments of some immature people and trolls here get to you, good luck on whatever you pursue in life!

Recently watched Season 5, tbh the reason why I watched the show was due to random Leslie clips which popped up on my feed. You were really one of my top picks of the season and had the potential to even win the competition. Your arc with Leslie was one of the best thing of the season. Wow, I just came across this video randomly in my recommended and I totally remember you and Leslie from that season haha. I still remember that dessert lasagna you made I always wondered what the hell it tasted like. It was nice to see this video though it feels like so long ago I watched that season of Masterchef, as a fellow Korean American I always thought that it was pretty cool to see representation on the show. And yes, I will admit there were times where I thought you were immature on the show, but who honestly is mature as a senior still in high school? Haha you should definitely not take it too hard on yourself and just be proud of the achievement of even being on that show at that age.

Anyone else think her double elimination with Victoria was unfair? Honestly I don’t think Ahran should’ve went home yet. The double elimination was bs imo but since you don’t wanna come back, there’s still fantasy seasons (I think) and I’m definitely casting you for a fantasy season of all stars (probably winning or runner up). Plus even though it was only an edit it still was iconic with the fight between you and Leslie and then making up into an iconic duo! Imagine if you both never made up and constantly fought, but then again, it was heartwarming seeing you both make up and be okay with each other. That basically made your season my fave season ever and I constantly rewatch it.

Yeah it felt like a scam. There were elimination rounds where multiple people put up terrible dishes and one one was eliminated but they waited until there were only 3 people doing a pressure test to kick two out. And some bad cooks like Cutter in the balcony gets a pass. Smelt a bit fishy

hi! Thank you for the qna, i really enjoyed. I was wondering if you could provide some sort of audio for the questions and the cooking segment? I really enjoy this kind of video while I’m cooking or studying and I might not be able to watch in a super present way ㅠㅠ
I'm a pastry chef, but I'm mostly self taught. I did go to school because they had a culinary course, and I wasn't ready to leave my home. I'm really glad that I went thought, because it showed my the reality of working in a restaurant kitchen and that atmosphere isn't for me. My teachers were all very nice and informative, but I decided to drop out for a number of different reasons. I learned from chefs, cooking classes, watching celebrity chefs on tv, my family, and majority of cooking/baking skills come from teaching myself! I also have a disability, so I became my own boss and I have a quite the following! I'm not comparing myself to chefs who actually went to school and spent a good portion of their lives in kitchens. As long as you have that love and passion for cooking/baking, you can become an awesome chef! And that's what I did!
