@@sonnyradcliffe8365 The language spoken in this video is Persian which is the official language of Iran and is spoken by the majority of Iranians. There are some minorities who speak Turkish, Kurdish, Armenian, Arabic, etc but they speak Persian as their second mother tongue. There's no such thing as an Iranian language, just like there's no language called American or Canadian.
Thank you so much 🙏 also that's very true because of mind's complexity and larynx's flexibility of Iranian people, we had multiple nations within us and reigned over them like hundreds of years without violence...!
*TOP TEN FACTS ABOUT PERSIA* • Persian is an ancient language that has been spoken for almost 3500 years. This makes it one of the *classical languages of antiquity* with unique poetry that still exist today. It has contributed numerous words to the vocabulary of the English language, like "paradise," "pyjama", "rice," "amazon," "rose," "saffron," "asparagus," "spinach," "shawl," and "pistachio." • Persian is a member of the *Indo-European language family.* It shares fundamental characteristics in terms of both grammar and vocabulary with its relatives like Latin, English, French, and Russian. Words like "baradar" for brother, "madar" for mother, "pedar" for padre in Spanish (father), "dokhtar" for daughter, "to" for tu in French (you), "andar" for inter, "do" for dos in Spanish (two), "zamin" for zemĕ in Croatian and zdmyla in Russian (earth), and even "shahr" for "skaan" in Old Norse (city), show the strong and old ties of this language family. This similarity in language is due to the *Yamnaya culture,* which is believed to be the precursor to the *Proto-Indo-European expansion* that originated from the steppes of Central Asia where Iranian peoples come from. This suggests that the customs and practices of Indo-European peoples across both Europe and Asia are rooted in the Yamnaya culture. • Iran possesses a versatile array of natural attractions. This includes *grandiose mountains, verdant forests, panoramic landscapes, sunny coastlines, and abundant natural resources,* like minerals and metals. It is known for producing an abundance of pistachios, pomegranates, berries, saffron, and turquoise. The Persian turquoise boasts unique shades of blue that sets it apart from other varieties. The Iranian Caspian Horse belongs to the first domesticated equine species. Iranians have a *long history of horsemanship and equestrian sports.* Persian games like Chowgan date back to ancient times. Iran is known as the birthplace of horse riding and the earliest practitioners of this art have been Iranian peoples. The influence of Persian horsemanship can be seen in many modern equestrian sports like Polo, which has gained worldwide popularity. • Persians were trailblazers in wearing *trousers and footwear.* This distinguishes them from the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans who wore gowns and cloaks. The traditional Persian dress is specifically crafted to endure Iran's chilly weather and showcases the ancient Iranian culture's practicality and ingenuity. • Iran's native and ancient name means *"Land of Aryans,"* and it has been in use for over 2500 years. The name "Persia" was used by Greeks to describe Iran. • The *Persian/Iranian World* is an ancient name for a region that spans from the Plateau of Iran to the Caucasus and Central Asia. This region houses Iranian customs, languages and peoples. Persian architecture reflects ancient philosophical, mathematical, and mystical themes. The ancient shades of turquoise are revered in Persian culture and depict the link between the earth and the unknown spiritual world. The *contributions of Persian scholars and poets* like Avicena, Rhasis, Biruni, Farabi, Khwarazmi, after whom the word "algorithm" is named, Ferdowsi, Khayyam, Saadi, Hafez, and Rumi, to the fields of philosophy, literature, art, musical theory, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, and metaphysics, have bestowed the world with a wealth of Persian knowledge and wisdom. • Persian cuisine is known for its ancient and unique gastronomic heritage. It *blends sweet and sour flavors* together and features fragrant and fluffy rice. Saffron and pistachios are conspicuously used in Persian cuisine and impart a rare flavor. This cuisine is also notable for its sour notes, which can be overpowering to those unfamiliar with it. The Iranian palate is accustomed to this sourness and sweetness and can even enjoy the tartness of limes on their own. • Persian decorative arts and crafts have deep historical roots. Iranian artisans are known for their skillful designs, brilliant colors, and remarkable craftsmanship. This is reflected in various mediums like carpet weaving, painting, calligraphy, pottery, and metalwork. Persian paintings are acclaimed for their precuse embellishments and lively tones. These *Persian styles have had a major impact on the world* and inspired and influenced artists and designers across different cultures and periods. Persian art has been a main source of inspiration for European artists during the Renaissance period. • The tradition of weaving carpets was invented in ancient Persia, when Iranian nomadic peoples used simple weaves of fabric to stay warm on cold and damp grounds. Over time, this basic need evolved into a sophisticated art form that produced the visually most beautiful patterns. *Persian carpets are praised for their beauty* and have been highly valued by royality, nobility, and collectors across the ages. Persian culture holds rugs as prized possessions that carry deep sentimental and cultural meaning. Today, Persian rugs are highly prized and sought-after decorative items around the world. Iran remains the center of carpet waving with unique and ancient styles. • Persian culture has inspired and influenced people worldwide. This includes minds like Voltaire, Montesquieu, Nietzsche, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander, who is believed to be the first admirer of Persian culture in the West. The enduring legacy of Persian culture is evident in its profound influence on the world and attests to its magnificence and endearing qualities!
Persian language is not 3500 years old. language evolve from time to time. if you go back 700 years ago, you wouldn't understand what Persians were speaking. because that was middle persian. Persians of those time wouldn't understand a single word of Achaemenid Persian. modern English only evolved from 1600 afterwards. the English spoken before this time period was very different from modern English. so that's why these two are not considered the same language. same with Persian/farsi.
@@mishterkhalid3117The Persian language is even older than 3500 years. Persian literature is so rich that you can go back to 1000 years and read the works of Ferdowsi, Saadi, Nizami, Hafez, Rumi and Khayyam in their original state which is the same as Modern Persian. Modern English only emerged after the 17th century. English speakers can't understand works written in 800 AD without translation, whereas modern Persian speakers literally speak the Persian language that was established as the standard variety in 800 AD. Persian is listed as one of the oldest spoken classical languages known to mankind. Of course you can easily understand Middle Persian and Old Persian if you know Modern Persian. By the way, 700 years ago they spoke Modern Persian, not Middle Persian. Achaemenid Persian is literally an archaic form of Modern Persian, so I have no idea what you are yapping on about.

My friend, it is better to know that among the top ten poets in the world, five of them are Iranian, definitely if you could understand the multi-layered and multi-level poems and meanings in Persian, you would understand the reason for this. Of course, the Arabic language is the most complete and precise language in the world in terms of grammar, and these beautiful poems would definitely not have been created without the words and some of the Arabic grammars that have been added to the Persian language. The Arabic language is the language used in the Qur'an, and God has considered this language as the language of the holy book because of the completeness and accuracy of the meaning of the sentences and interpretations that were necessary in the verses of the Qur'an. And in the end, Persian, Arabic, Hebrew, Indian, English, and French , ..., which are listed in the section of Indo-European languages, all have the same root and they were all the same language in the beginning, so there isn't any reason for discussion and disagreement between same roots brothers. ❤️.

I think to have the video more enjoyable and fun to watch, they should have mentioned that it's entirely different languages. And just because one speaks differently, (this includes the Moroccan speaker, being frowned upon as well) they should focus more on what words they actually have in common in their languages and try to see if they have something similar in their own, they will find that some words are just plain different but they can also reflect and try to see if they understand where the words are coming from.

But that's just the informal persian, if you wanted to read old books in persian, for example "shah name" it would be worry different, because farsi is persian mixed with Arabic but parsi is the original language and has a lot of difrences, also because of the difference in accent, for Persians it's really hard to speak Arabic because we don't pronounce letter as hard as Arabic, for example when we say ع we read it like ا, and also I would assume that you are talking about the mixed version that got made after some wars, it's the same reason Moroccan is mixed with a lot of languages, also on a last note, usually both sides can understand to a point, so the more someone tries to understand, the more difficult it gets because the original, untouched language reveals itself.

Also they were wrong about Imtihan in farsi being spelt differently - in Farsi ح is just pronounced the same as ه it's not heavy so it's written like امتحان still. As a general rule of thumb Farsi words are spelt the same as the word they came from in Arabic (apart from ة becoming ه or ت) it's just that some words are borrowed in different forms - for example Farsi borrowing شمع instead of شمعة

In addition to some foreign terms (French, Spanish, and English recently) we Moroccanize to express modern things... All this, was only about the Moroccan Arabic dialect (Darija). There is still an Amazigh dialect there as well, which branches out into four main Amzigh dialects and more than twenty sub-dialects...
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 no, amazighs are integrated into the moroccan community not segregated... even we can say that most moroccan pple were culturally amazigh but due to immigration (rural exodus) and discrimination it becomes undecent ( since 60's to 90's) to speak their mother tongue in some cases , specially that most of those who speak it were relatively destitutes and thus the language was stigmatised as a symbol of ignorance, backwardness, superstition and illiteracy ( specially by the Fassi bourgeoisie [From Fez] who some of them still consider themselves superior and civilized, after the independence [ even centuries ago] they became part of the political elites and dominated the political life's marge during that period).... however these Mindsets changed and now it usually doesn't matter which region you belong to... it's matter of common interest... Now, a lot of moroccan imazighen people are part of the country's pillars... *The latest constitution of 2011, had officially labelled the language as official after long decades of negligence, but still misregarded in the vital institution of the country ( which they are for the most part francized [] ...)
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 In Morocco, the Amazigh people have always been the backbone of the state. The kings's wives, the high rank army commanders, senior officials... all have been Amazigh for centuries until today. Moreover, most of ministers and parliamentarians now are Amazigh, but simply because the so complicated political game in Morocco, many of them adopt the Arabic language... So the scene looks deceptively as if the Amazigh are marginalized. What helped spread this misconception was the fact that 60% of the population are Amazigh, and also the fact that 48.6% of the population still living in rural areas, also the living conditions in these areas are difficult compared to cities... The truth is that those who live in difficult conditions in Morocco, not because they are Amazigh but simply because they live in remote villages. That's why you find the honest activists in civil society in Morocco working to lift marginalization from rural areas in general. on the other hand, those who claim that the Amazighs are marginalized are a few fools, and no one pays any attention to them inside Morocco!! But they continue to fight windmills to obtain foreign funds and to defraud countries hostile to the Moroccan People's Union LOL Edit: To sum up, the answer is, no!

In Farsi, we have many words for each of the words that were asked, which have nothing in common with the Arabic language. But this man used words that are closer to the Arabic language...for example, for the word (exam) We also say (aazmoon) but this man used (emtehaan)...however, it was very beautiful and I think Persian is very poetic.

Additional Interesting facts I noticed: 1) In Persian, we have the word ملاقه "Malagheh" which means Ladle (long spoon you use to pour soup), very similar to the word ملعقه in Arabic for spoon. 2) سطح or Sath (Roof) in Persian means "Surface" 3) Older people in Iran used to call Kitchen مطبخ "Matbakh", just like Arabic. But they don't use it anymore (P.S. They only use the word طباخی "Tabakhi" for the special restaurants that serve کله پاچه "Kalleh Pache"! Thank you Farzan for adding EXTRA smoothness to our language! He really is a calm guy!
but you should also feel proud about Farsi because it is our cultural heritage as Pakistanis. The court language of the Mughal empire wasn't Urdu but Farsi. Farsi was widespread throughout the subcontinent before the British invented Hindi (by creating a form of Urdu with mainly Sanskrit loanwords and written in devanagari script) and abolished Farsi in the 18th and 19th centuries

*TOP TEN FACTS ABOUT PERSIA*
• Persian is an ancient language that has been spoken for almost 3500 years. This makes it one of the *classical languages of antiquity* with unique poetry that still exist today. It has contributed numerous words to the vocabulary of the English language, like "paradise," "pyjama", "rice," "amazon," "rose," "saffron," "asparagus," "spinach," "shawl," and "pistachio."
• Persian is a member of the *Indo-European language family.* It shares fundamental characteristics in terms of both grammar and vocabulary with its relatives like Latin, English, French, and Russian.

Thank you for making time and writing it. I was very upset with this video, thinking about Ferdowsi and how Arabs attacked many countries for religious reason, and destroyed their culture and language. But we survived thank to Ferdowsi.

It was fascinating. I really enjoyed watching this video. The word "Kitchen" in Persian was awsome cause In the ancient times, the kitchen was also called "مطبخ" from Arabic but now we say it "آشپزخانه".
I think this is such an unfair comparison because Iranian people speak Farsi not Arabic so yall shouldn't expect him to understand what they're saying. He probably doesn't even feel included (I would too) because the others are quite similar but he's the only one having a whole ass different language not dialect:/
I was looking for this exact comment in the video, you're the first one I see pointing it out. It's unfair and they should not be like "what???" everytime Farzan speaks.

I don't know why they were so shocked that Persian and Arabic does not sound similar as they are two different languages. Iranians are both ethnically, culturally and most importantly linguistically indo-European, unlike Arabs, and their language is actually closer to English than to Arabic. Most loan words from Arabic to Persian are either originally Persian words used by the Arabic language then re introduced to Persian, or there exist a Persian replacement. This also applies to French loan words in Persian.

I find it amusing when the Westerners get surprised at knowing that despite having the same script/alphabet, Arabic and Persian are vastly different. It's amusing because almost every European language is written in the Latin alphabet and they're all very different from each other. The script is just a medium in many cases and not the language itself.
This is not true, Farsi/Persian and Arabic are very similar because 80% of the Farsi/Persian language is actually Arabic. I can easily read Farsi/Persian because it’s mostly Arabic

As Moroccan, the term "Moroccan Arabic darija" we use only to facilitate communication with the outside world to refer the way Moroccans speak in general. In fact, in Morocco, we have more than twenty arabic dialect. Each region has its own dialect, and each city has its own dialect.
Once a Moroccan person hears another Moroccan speaking, he can determine the region or city and sometimes even the village to which the speaker belongs.
On top of all this, the Moroccan Arabic darija is constantly changing. The dialect of grandmothers and grandfathers is not the same as that of grandchildren. As for the roots of the terms we use, in general, the largest percentage is from Arabic language with (sometime) the use of morphology and grammar in the Amazigh way.
I have a question. In Morocco, is there any kind of discrimination against Amazigh people and/or speakers?
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 No ! We live together
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 no there are entire cities that speaks amazigh only
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 no, amazighs are integrated into the moroccan community not segregated... even we can say that most moroccan pple were culturally amazigh but due to immigration (rural exodus) and discrimination it becomes undecent ( since 60's to 90's) to speak their mother tongue in some cases , specially that most of those who speak it were relatively destitutes and thus the language was stigmatised as a symbol of ignorance, backwardness, superstition and illiteracy ( specially by the Fassi bourgeoisie [From Fez] who some of them still consider themselves superior and civilized, after the independence [ even centuries ago] they became part of the political elites and dominated the political life's marge during that period).... however these Mindsets changed and now it usually doesn't matter which region you belong to... it's matter of common interest...
But they continue to fight windmills to obtain foreign funds and to defraud countries hostile to the Moroccan People's Union LOL
