Christine Ha I'd probably miss everything except for my cellphone. I have already watched how you use yours and I am getting good at it day by day ✌️everything that is missed can be felt by touch as you said. That's what I would do to enjoy what i miss ! Oh I got one ! I would miss looking at food !! Maybe i could enjoy touching and feeling it more than looking at it .
Christine Ha that's a very good question. i don't know how i would cope because not everyone has the same fortitude. on the positive side, it would curb my porn consumption. No more blue balls! seriously though, I don't know, chef. I guess I would miss sight itself because of the strain I would probably put on the relationships I currently have. let's hope that it doesn't come to that!
To be honest i would not be able to live and will surely fall into depression. I will miss gaming online with my boyfriend too much and this was what made us meet. Gaming has a very important part in my life. That's why i admire you for your strength.
Every computer since the late 90s has had basic text to speech services. Android and Apple have services for their phones, SIRI and similar can transcribe notes. Most smart phones can even connect to braille displays thanks to bluetooth should they need/want that. The world's far more accessible than you might think, it's more of a surprise when things aren't accessible than the fact they are.
My mum has been blind since I was 3. Both of us and my younger brother involved in a car accident. Both of us survived but unfortunately my brother didn't. I am now 28 and she's still the Queen in our kitchen. Love her forever.
Thank you for this video. I was afraid to cook many years ago because of my low vision. I was scared of ruining dishes and making people feel ill. I was even afraid to attend a 6 month commercial cooking course. But with the encouragement of my best friend, Chef instructor, and your appearance on MasterChef, it gave me all the courage and confidence I needed to learn to cook. You have become a big influence to me and I thank you very much for inspiring me to not let my low vision become my limit of what I can do.
Im nervous in general when I use a knife, I can't imagine how I would feel without my sight and using a knife. I seriously just realized how much we take seeing for granted.
I suppose people who like me got sea sick and didn't have the decency not to blame it on the person making the video. Or people who expected a step by step video on a certain dish, exact measurements and ingredients included. Or envious people who even with working eyesight are incapable of cooking water without burning it. Who knows. There are weird trolls out there.
Maybe its one of the cooks from the master chef competition that she kicked ass in...id guess whoever disliked this is jealous of her stunning achievements.
Rob C. There is a illness in people that make it so that when they see a 0 or a prime number they HAVE TO change and they can't help it, same thing goes for when people see 1s or 3s they have to change it an even number they have no ill intent, and they cant help them selves. The need to change it would be overwhelming.
Love your comment. But one thing to consider. I couldn't watch the whole video because it made me sea sick. (it's not the first one and won't be the last one, I'm sure). Maybe those people had similar reactions and laid the blame on Christina and not their own weird body.
spaghetti dude you realise she has a husband right he could just read out the comment to her and then she will reply with the feedback..and the husband will write down on the keyboard..and bruh come on why using the N word.
She said I would miss like she would miss it if she couldn't see so I don't think Catrina Lee is blind (correct me if im wrong)but blind people use the Internet by using voice over, voice over is pretty much something that you turn in settings that is available on apple and android/Samsung electronics I don't know about others. But voiceovers well voices what's on your screen, it reads it outloud so if someone blind is reading this. They are hearing it being said throw a Siri like voice. Its just being read by their electronic.
Wow you are truly inspiring. I was in an accident and it caused a Traumatic brain injury. I wanted to go to college and work in medicine but now I have trouble focusing , paying attention, reading, writing, remembering and taking in information at a slower paced. It’s made me almost give up on my goals but you’re inspiring me to believe in myself.
Sometimes you just don't realise how lucky you are to live life without any disabilities. This reminds me how grateful I should be. I love your videos Christine.
Whenever I see you cook, I'm in complete amazement. You are so talented at cooking. I wish I could cook. I still have my vision, and I'm awful at it. But this really makes you appreciate what you have. I never really thought of my eyesight as a privilege, but seeing you cook and go through life like a freaking boss made me think twice. Hey, you're basically the Toph of cooking. Christine, the food bender.
I want to let you know how much you have made an impact in my life. I was diagnosed with the same condition about 2 months ago. Your story is helping me to find the strength to go on. When I got the diagnosis, I thought my life was over. But you are showing me that is not true. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your experience with me and the world. It changed my life and gives me the courage to pursue my dreams ❤️ If your mother could see you now, she would be so proud
You are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing a your life and experiences with us! Not having vision is not what makes your content special, you make it special. :) I really love all of your videos!
I'm vietnamese and it's 2022 now. Your life , your story is just give me a lot of inspiration. Be healthy, be confident, be happy and more is things that i can learn from you. You are one of the most wonderful women i've seen in my whole life
I watched some of the masterchef season that you were on and won on RUclips. Can't find the full season on DVD but anyways since I found your RUclips channel I wanted to tell you how amazing and inspirational you are. You definitely deserved to win masterchef
Hey Christine, I'm 15 just about to turn 16 in July. Ever since I was young I've loved cooking. I have ran into problems with the law and done some wrong things in my life. You have inspired me to follow my culinary dream. Thank you for that. Much respect
so inspiring to watch you work in the kitchen, so incredibly organized, I guess you have to be but it's still so impressive! I'm a chef in Hanoi, if you and John are ever here, I would love to cook for you both! seriously, anytime!
You make me remember to be thankful of our senses. Many times I forget and get lost in petty emotions with coworker on the line. To feel. To enjoy. To share great food. The joy communicating and teaching others and asking nothing in return. The beauty of keeping an art alive. So thank you Christine Ha. Will be making the whole kitchen of 39 people watch this and be thankful
Christine your such a big inspiration to other and especially to me.I have watched you in masterchef and the way you cook really inspires me even you are blind you can cook amazing foods. Hope I could taste your dishes in real life.
I don't regret clicking on the video. This is so satisfying and amazing to watch. The amount times i watched parts of the video is ridiculous. I just really love this. I can see how much you love to cook
Honestly one of the most amazing and impressive things I've ever seen. Christine , you're truly an inspiration to me and I'm sure you give anybody with impaired vision hope, don't ever stop
Christine, you demonstrate complete strength. You have an obstacle that most people would find to block out the ability to cook. You worked WITH the obstacle, perhaps trying to find a balanced medium between your abilities and this obstacle. You are talented, humble, creative, and inspiring. Thank you for sharing
When i watched you on Masterchef I learn something that it is not how extravagant or luxurious you can cook but it is respect and love for you do or for the food you cook that make other smile and cooking is not in physical abilities but from heart...
Christine is a truly talented human being and deserves much more popularity. She's amazing even though she is blind, and watching her videos is magical. I'm normally a dick to people, but honestly, this is just.. There are no words to describe it. She is definitely a great role model. #gochristine
Christine, I just saw an episode where you and the contestants made pie, and it made me cry how much Gordon Ramsay cares for you. That apple pie you made, is a mouth watering dessert. I just wish I can taste it. But I know that was 5 years ago, but you are an inspiration.❤️❤️❤️
Hi Christine! I remember watching masterchef and I knew you would win from the very start. You just seemed so passionate about what you do and to me that is really inspiring. Very few people can make a good meal to impress celebrity chefs but you did so, even with the disadvantage of not being able to see. Though you have a drawback you were willing to give everything your best shot and this is what I really admire about you. I hope good luck for you in the future! See ya
You are a true inspiration to many people out there. You take a disadvantage in life and turn it into an asset in your life. You taught me a valuable lesson in life. To be thankful for whatever I have. You are a true inspiration for me. Thank you Christine.
Amazing :)! Even though others in Masterchef could cook very well too, you just always had the edge since you're blind. Not only because you could taste better, but also because everything you did was much more impressive. You deserved the win and set an example for all people that have troubles in life of any kind :D
Apart from your great palate, your talent of putting flavours together into the plate is the magic here (i have seen it a lot in masterchef) ... by the way the p.o.v. is cool... hoping to see more of your cooking videos like this. And cheers John!! Missed you guys here and HAPPY NEW YEAR guys ✌️
i sometimes feel like if i lost one of my senses, I'd panic myself to death. but your perseverance is a real inspiration, Christine! No matter what happens, find what you love and continue to find new ways to pursue it. thank you!
You are amazing and an inspiration to us all. The way you have overcome your disability and continued to do what you love is so inspiring! I'm not blind, nor do I plan on ever becoming a professional chef, but I am new to cooking and hope to become better at it through watching others. Keep on doing you, and I wish you luck in all your endeavors!
Holy Cow! the time has arrived!! (the head mount worked really well but the motion made me a little dizzy) The Alexa thing was neat, never would have thought of how useful she'd be to a blind person.
+Mallory Kane thanks for your feedback. Yeah, I get motion sickness Easley to, and if I could see, I would probably get dizzy from the video. Sorry about that. And I love my Amazon echo… My second best helper in the kitchen, next to John. 😆
I've shared this video to give people the chance to see for themselves that it is possible for a blind person to cook amongst many other things. My mom is blind but people are always baffled when they hear my mother cooks, cleans, etc. so Thank you for sharing your story.
She's not fully blind right? Like she can still she shadows or blurred silhouettes of objects. So I guess that helps a bit too. But nonetheless she's amazing. One of, if not, the best masterchef seasons when she was on it and won.
So i never really thought about it until now. but the thought of losing my sight is very scary. i would freak out. i wouldn't know what to do. im very happy for you and how hard you've worked. you're an inspiration to me!
Your so Amazing, such an inspiration. I loved watching you on masterchef, I knew during the auditions you were gonna win it, and boy was I right!!!! Hope all is well with you and your family, keep up the awesome cooking!!!! GOD Bless Christine!!!!!
I saw you in the Masterchef season 10 as a guest but I have no idea you are blind till now. Wow, Christine, you are literally nailed what we think of the "impossible challenge"! This is truly amazing! I'm your loyal fan now!
You're an inspiration to people that need to pick up themselves and let them learn how to not give up because anything is possible. As the amazing person and chef you are, People see you as their guardian to know nothing is over. You're and talented and caring person. Keep up with the good work and never give up Christine!
@Christineha thank you for doing this video. My daughter is blind and I've been wanting to learn how I could help her learn to cook as she grows up. So cool to learn some of your tips. Side note - I heard you speak at the NFB convention last week. Thanks for sharing your story.
Christine Ha, I don't know what to say, but I do want to say something. I follow chef Gordon Ramsay and I just happened to come across a video of the apple pie you made in Master Chef and in as few as 3 minutes you've inspired me in so many ways. You're just incredible. You have my utmost respect, Christine. You're a beautiful person and I wish you all the best. Cheers!
You're a frigging inspiration. I cried when you won MasterChef and you deserved it rightfully so. You showed the world that your "disability" was more of a handicap...for other PEOPLE! You didn't let it stop you or hinder you and instead, you used your other senses and pure grit to do what you do. -Sending love and support from Canada
Great respect for you. I love how you're always positive. One of my friends lost his arm in an accident at work and he remained positive still. Keep going love the videos.
Inspiration and inspiration and inspiration. I cannot stress enough or explain what and how much I have learnt from you; your journey in MasterChef and the life after. My best wishes and blessings with you always.
You are an inspiration to me.. i saw you cooking and winning masterchef i was amazed. I was literally crying. I thought what am i doing with my life even when blessed with eyes. You changed the perspectives of my life.. thank you so much god bless you.. in case nobody told you, you are the book worth reading and learning.. hatsoff..take care
Just found out about you from Master Chef and I’m really glad I did. You’ve honestly become a hero of mine and your journey is so inspirational. Thank you. Also you deserve the win and all the success.
It's amazing to see you cook, especially with people with a major disability like this. It's amazing that even though you're blind, you still make extraordinary dishes like this.
Great video Christine! I can't cut the scallions as thin as you do! Thanks for showing how you navigate your kitchen. I would have been wonderful to make available a described version of this video, so other people with visual impairment can enjoy it too.
I really appreciate the work you do as a chef. I am a chef as well and recently contracted a viral conjunctivitis. My vision has been horrible for about 2 weeks and started getting worse to a point I can’t drive. I know it’ll get better but the frustration and fear are only too real. I admire you so much with the vision loss you’ve experienced and your ability to continue in your culinary experience. Thank you for paving the way!
Oh my god I found your RUclips channel, I remember seeing you on Master chef and really hoping you win trough the whole thing and I was so happy for you when you won!! You are so inspiring and just amazing!
wow u are extraordinary the way u don't let something as debilitating as blindness get in the way of u r passion to cook inspires me to not let anything get in the way of my dreams ur amazing
Fabulous Cristine. You cook with your fantasy. You see the colours of thastevand smell and you hear the sizxling temprature of the oil. Its a gift if u have that. Continue to amaze us and the world world around you.
If you lost your vision, what would you miss most? What could you do to be able to enjoy it again? This is a challenge for you to think creatively.
+Akilan what phone do you have? That's awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Christine Ha I use an iPhone haha 😅 voice assistant and what not.. I could type without looking at my keypad correctly at a pretty good level ✌️
To be honest i would not be able to live and will surely fall into depression. I will miss gaming online with my boyfriend too much and this was what made us meet. Gaming has a very important part in my life. That's why i admire you for your strength.
I'm so glad I found this video. The first season of Masterchef that I watched was when you won. I was rooting for you the whole time! ^_^

+Kirwin Stewart that's great! Thanks for sharing. How do you enjoy cooking now?
Christine Ha I love it. I never thought I would be this good. I'm planning on being a personal chef someday.
She is truly inspirational, I've never really admired anyone in my life, but I think Christine is the 1st person I really admire.
Im nervous in general when I use a knife, I can't imagine how I would feel without my sight and using a knife. I seriously just realized how much we take seeing for granted.
Oh, you use Alexa! That is quite clever. Would never think to use it for practical purposes like cooking. Definitely sharing this video. Thank you!
+Gonk Droid you're welcome. Love my echo

I would miss my family and friend's faces. I would imagine their faces and listen to their laughter.
Catrina Lee how did you type this?
Yes, you can do it! Never give up ❤️

Holy Cow! the time has arrived!! (the head mount worked really well but the motion made me a little dizzy) The Alexa thing was neat, never would have thought of how useful she'd be to a blind person.

I've shared this video to give people the chance to see for themselves that it is possible for a blind person to cook amongst many other things. My mom is blind but people are always baffled when they hear my mother cooks, cleans, etc. so Thank you for sharing your story.
+Charnte Marthinus awesome & Thanks 😂
She's not fully blind right? Like she can still she shadows or blurred silhouettes of objects. So I guess that helps a bit too. But nonetheless she's amazing. One of, if not, the best masterchef seasons when she was on it and won.
shinyeon23 I think she went from being fully sighted to fully blind in a span of 10 years
She can still see shape and shadow. Like looking into a foggy mirror
you are a very strong and resilient person I admire you very much
she cut that green onion into even pieces...i’m sighted and mine still come out in 50 different sizes 😂😭

So i never really thought about it until now. but the thought of losing my sight is very scary. i would freak out. i wouldn't know what to do. im very happy for you and how hard you've worked. you're an inspiration to me!

Cheers!
+Kenneth Ishizaki thank you
You're a frigging inspiration. I cried when you won MasterChef and you deserved it rightfully so. You showed the world that your "disability" was more of a handicap...for other PEOPLE! You didn't let it stop you or hinder you and instead, you used your other senses and pure grit to do what you do.
-Sending love and support from Canada
+BlackIce thank you

Great respect for you. I love how you're always positive. One of my friends lost his arm in an accident at work and he remained positive still. Keep going love the videos.
Hard to live if you aren't positive and grateful for still being able to have everything else. I think that's how they get by.
@@Feathertail2205 Yeah, I know it's hard, but I admire them for doing it. My friend that lost his arm at work was always cheerful.
Inspiration and inspiration and inspiration. I cannot stress enough or explain what and how much I have learnt from you; your journey in MasterChef and the life after. My best wishes and blessings with you always.

CH, You do it better than I could & most other people as well. Kudos to your cooking & everything else you do.
Great video Christine! I can't cut the scallions as thin as you do! Thanks for showing how you navigate your kitchen. I would have been wonderful to make available a described version of this video, so other people with visual impairment can enjoy it too.
I cried at the video of masterchef, where Ramsay tried your apple pie, your strength and passion reduces me to tears. This is amazing and inspiring.
This is the most inspiring thing I have seen all day. You and Tommy brighten my day.
I love the idea of using GoPro to show us from your perspective. Amazing and so encouraging! The dish looked tantalizing, as well 🙂.
Oh my god I found your RUclips channel, I remember seeing you on Master chef and really hoping you win trough the whole thing and I was so happy for you when you won!! You are so inspiring and just amazing!
