- The good old days of F1, when the drivers had some skills and the engines didn't sound like drowning rats. This race was the fastest race ever completed in Formula, with an average race speed of 247.585 km/h.
The look on the Mclaren pit crews faces...priceless 😂
I ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY AGREE I loved to see tat reaction from them.
The sound i miss it
Schumacher - unvergessen, King of the road.
almost 350kph speed before braking into turn 4. in 2019 leclerc's pole lap his top speed was 332kph at the same place.
During the V8 era that's around 320
362.5 on the start/finish line. without DRS or KERS...
Today's drivers aren't in the same League!!!.
@@vonPelger V10 engine ultimate POWAAAH!
2003 600kg vs 2019 743kg
No more questions
That is some insane speed.
He knew he got pole position, even before crossing the finish line, no errors at all
Highest level of self-confidence 💪🏻
Mind games to Montoya ;)
They already used to have that kind of informations on the monitors of their steering wheels.
@@federicotombolini_ are you worked f1 in 2003? How do you fuck know that
it’s cos they have the info on the wheel/dashboard on their time
The cars today are still easier to control than these monsters! :)
Thats where MSCs skills made the difference in these days...wouldnt be possible for him in the new generation cars I would guess.
Actually these cars had launch control, traction control, automatic gearshifts.
beat Kimi on the fast tracks is not easy, but this lap is perfect. My god Michael why the destiny is like that?. I stell can't belive to all was happened...
SHUMACHER THE BEST 👏🏻
Fantastico, grandísimo, fenomenal Michael
The braking point in a circuit like Monza is extremely difficult to find expecially during the qualy lap where you are alone. Pole time 1:20, 963 Montoya + 0,051 in second place, Rubens + 0,279. Same order of arrival with Michael hard trick. His fast lap in the 14th lap, time 1:21, 832.. what a driver !.
Absolutely mad stats
@@ethanpagan3365likewise the average speed maintained throughout the whole race: 247.585 km/h! Completing it in 1 hour 14 mins 19s 838ms
Schumacher is the greatest there has ever been. Only Jim Clark, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso (and an honourable mention to Räikkönen) can ever come close in terms of natural ability.
Have you ever heard about Ayrton Senna? By the way, Schumacher's words: "If you asked me what the best ever, i would say Senna, too"
Do you know why he said "too"?
Well, because Fernando Alonso, Hakkinen, Lauda, Fangio and others gods of F1 say that Senna is the greatest.
Schumacher is one of the greatest ever, That's for sure, but never forget Senna, ever.
Cars that dont sound like cars. Now that's F1
Real f1
Waw the sound is very much appreciated
right on the limit at parabolica. so close from touching the grass
La mia prima qualifica vista con la Pole Position di Michael Schumacher a Monza 2003. Le ho viste su Rai 2
Anyway, what mutter was the leadear ship of Ferrari, becouse probably we will wait again 20 years for back at this performances. Michael in this season had give in qualyfing, shutter gaps at the others: was by the McLaren era that no one tryed to give almost 1 second at the driver on second place. Hockeneim -0.936 around. Here more tha half second. Montreal almost 1 second... This year has been the best, with the best F1 car ever made, the F2004 (940 bhp, but in qualyfing probably more than 950). Michael has been and will rest for always the best driver of this sport. Senna: 65 pole, but only 17 fast laps in races, the champ with the less fast laps. Prost FHOURTY ONE!. MICHAEL 77 !!!!!!.
"20 years" Lewis : *hold my beer*
Races were more boring than now but...
The 19000 rpm, the cars jumping on the (high) kerbs, no clipping nor coasting, the last gear put at 310 kph, the 360 kph as top speed, the less stable camera cars...
Those cars were much more emotional than today's ones!
More boring? There were tyre wars, more pit stops, and refuelling, and multiple winners a season.
I would prefer to watch 1 genuine overtake in a race than 20 created by DRS or KERS deployment or tire degradation or some other bollocks. We saw a lot more actual flat out racing back then. Michael Schumacher going flat out was one of the greatest things to watch
@@henryhallam5270better lots of 2003 like seasons than many dominated ones.
Races weren't really more boring until 2004. There was a solid amount of the V10 era that had good racing but the dirty air started to make it worse and worse and then 2004 McLaren's car was hopeless in reliability, with 2005 Ferrari getting their massive tyre penalty. After that, well the dirty air was still bad and getting worse. Then they switched to V8s and they were pretty meh.
WISHING YOU THE BEST ... AND FAST RECOVERY .. AN ALL THE BEST FOR 2014 . Martin 8972
The last time I can remember an F1 car using auto gears was back in 1992-1993 by the Williams, the cars since then use semi automatic 7 gear gearboxes
But it was allowed back in 2001, from the Spanish GP onwards. Then it got banned again after the 2003 season
Amazing ❤
nobody else like he. will rest in my hearth always. good bye my brother....
dude, what the fuck are you talking about? HE IS ALIVE, still in induced coma but alive and getting slowly better. Cut this crap, please and respect the man
wtf dude
One year later, dude what you fack talking about?. Next time, before speaking, THINK !!. Even the most stupid could have predicted what unfortunaly will be the rest of life for Michael. To be alive can be the worst punishment some times. But i hope with all my hearth wich his surrounded by the love of his loved ones can recover what they need to live a life worth living. I love Michael !!.
He may be artificially kept alive, but 0 % of him will be Michael if and only IF he ever wakes up. His brain is completely fucked up after being in coma for so long.
Unfortunately...
He is not dead yet
The king Kaiser.... Schumacher!!!
Grazie Schumy 😢
i think thats not what he meant. these cars were upshifting automatically when they hit the best point to do that. yet you could upshift earlier if you wanted.
Le bruit du moteur un régal
@papa giovani
Yeah but Montoya was few thousands behind
I miss that gravel trap on the outside of parabolica.
I miss this dude, this era and that sound. F1 today is soooooo boring in comparison
Today the speed is the same but is not as noticeable. Surely these cameras were some other. These recently used camera- ultimate camera, should be permanently introduced.
I figured out what happened...
Without all of the cigarette sponsors...The FIA lost its' balls.
They got screwed over by EU laws. Almost every single sport did.
Wow, the rear ring is like... unexistant
He was really hopping those curbs 👊 The MASTER
1:20.963!! In F1 2012 I'll be very lucky to get 1:23 lol
-0.503s ahahahahahah Schumacher is god
Second place Montoya + 0,051 therd Rubens +0,279 fourth Kimy + 0,503. However, in the fast circuits, expecially Monza Michael can't show to all his umblivable ability in driving, becouse or you have an very good engine or you can't makes a great difference..
Against a 2002 McLaren.
Yep...it's Monza! The only real "low-downforce" track on the calendar! Al the others are "medium-high" to "high" downforce" tracks, except Montreal which is usually considered "low-medium"!
But it catches the eye, because it's so rarely seen! Just compare it to this higher downforce wing on an Arrows which has multiple aerofoils elements!

TIME: 1:20:963. Well, WHY on wikipedia stell there is as record the 1:21:046 of Rubens?.
They go by the fastest lap of the race for the records, not the qualifying lap. I suspect that's because the qualifying rules are changed a lot, while the race rules are much more consistent.
The 1:21.046 was the fastest lap ever timed in race conditions. The fastest pole ever (beaten in 2018 and 2020) was 1:20.089, scored by Barrichello in 2004, while the record was 1:19.525 clocked by Montoya in pre-quali
V10 ❤

F1 cars vs modern hoovers going round same venues …or venues they can fit in…
1:20:878 this is the record time, stabilished by Raikkonen with his 2005 Pole!. Just four cents of second better tha Michael in the same YEAR!!!.
1:20:637, this is the time of Michael in the 2004 qualyfing. Theerd place behind Montoya and the Barrichello record lap. But what signified this times...?, are by three different years with different engines power: in the 2004 the Ferrari engine had 940 hp, in the 2003 900.... If you want discuss about Michael take the best track and rid: on Spa Francochamp Michael winner SEVEN TIMES, Kimy TWO, Ayrton FOUR Hakkinen JUST ONE and i don't remember who 5 times... Do you want compared Monza with Spa?: Monza is the faster track, but the most important thing is the car set up, and driver of course. If you don't know i can tell you that Michael was not a master in the set up, as in the Irvine words, but Eddie told also that on track against Michael was very, very hard. For judge the faster in qualyfing there is'nt not dubs: Senna the best!. But in race...?: Ayrton 17 fast laps, Prost 41 and Michael 77. That not mutter...?. Bye.

yeah, the drivers had some skills, and you could use traction control...
When people realise this isn’t even the F2004💀
do they still have automatic gear changes here?
It's nice to win the Pole but I rather win the race
hockenheim was low-downforce track too before bastard tilke ruin it
Starting back in 2002!
Damn they didn't care about track limits at all back then 😂😂
We need much less downforce on 2023 cars
WOW Average of 328.9 km/h
No. That 328.9 was the speed at the finish line. The real average speed was 257.584 km/h. A hell of a pole lap!
and 6 gears semi automatic. (williams 2005, minardi.. )
Ferrari has 7 gears.
only williams minardi and renault had 6 gears until 2006
Williams had 6 gears until 2003, Renault, Jordan and Minardi had 6 gears till 2005.
@@r.a.6459 i mean williams had on some tracks 6 and sometimes 7 gears. the 3l BMW had enough torque.
I don't think so.
Excellent, Because BMW V10 The best engine but Schumi Pole Posetion!
Good lap. But please. Kimi had a much slower car. Kimi would have set a faster time than Michael in a Ferrari.
Tough shit mate
"The good old days of F1, when the drivers had some skills and the engines didn't sound like drowning rats"
Drivers weren't more skilled then. Though the FIA was definitely an accomplice to filthy drivers like Schumacher who was never rightfully punished for all his utterly filthy moves.
I'd say the average skill is better nowadays, especially that 2/3 of the billionaire boys dropped out.
The engines just made more pointless noise. What I miss is the simple aero and ability to fight on track.
It takes so much skill today to press a button to overtake someone 😂. I actually got a headache reading your comment.
