What Broke My Engine? RB25 Tear Down

  • After discovering my RB25 was knocking, I tore down the bottom end went hunting for something that was out of spec... and found a pretty catastrophic thrust bearing failure. My crank is toast and will need replacing...

      Yep it has! Good eye! Like I said near the end of the vid it was rebuilt approx 5000km ago, by the previous owner. So I'm pretty bummed this has happened so early in it's life :(

      Yeah I commented while watching and seen the thermal button on the Welch plug…. lol then watch on and yeah.
      I feel your pain mate, hopefully you can put her back together knowing it’s done properly. I recommend putting a hi octane baffled sump extension with extra AN fittings either side of the sump for extra crank vents/ drains. Will help head draining in future hi boosting🤙
