  • In this video the Stagea finally hits the dyno at Sideways Motorsport for the first of two tunes!
The run in tune is designed to be low on power and a little richer than typical to add a safety buffer, while also allowing you to build enough boost to properly bed in those new piston rings.
It also allowed us the opportunity to troubleshoot some small issues that popped up seeing as this is the first time the new engine has been pushed - things like bleeding the cooling system (again), setting fuel pressure (again), checking belts are tight (again...) etc - all things that COULD be done on the street but are infinitely easier to do while stationary in a dyno room!
Now I need to come back after 1000km and we can turn the power up...
A massive shoutout to Christian and the guys at Sideways Motorsport for the help and for letting me learn and film the process while he works his magic! Go give them a follow:

Love these guys, just had my 34 there for a service last week.
Also what ECU are you running?

Oh nice... Definitely explained everything really clearly unlike other places I've been before. Will definitely be back!
I'm using a Haltech Elite 2000, along with wideband, flex fuel sensor, boost solenoid and a Bosch oil temp/pressure sensor so I have access to a lot of data and controls. The only other thing I still have on my shelf to go in is a fuel pressure sensor but that can wait til later now haha

@@StreetSyndicate yeah Chris is great. I was one of those people he had to give the bad news about finding bearing material haha.
Ah nice lots of data there 👌👌

Not at all? I took my car to a shop and he was nice enough to explain the process for my viewers.
Anyone who has been along for the ride from the start knows the time and effort I've put into building this car and have seen me explain everything I have done in great detail. So when it comes to the tuning side of things, which I know very little about, I'm grateful that I found someone who is willing to explain to the same level of detail.

Definitely going to keep this place in mind when I'm ready to get my r33 tuned, do you know if they do Apexi Power FC tuning there? A lot of places don't now since it's old tech

Yeah definitely consider them! I'm very sure I've seen them do PFCs before but maybe double check with them to be sure. It is old tech but hey if it works, why not haha
