Gonna be honest. The demonlist and casuals are no longer going to be compatible, because Robtop focuses on making the game better for everyone while the demonlist focuses on pushing difficulty of levels, but the demonlist only has rated levels, and that's going to be very limitating going forward because robtop only rates levels that are possible for everyone, which, if we're going to be pushing this game to its limits, that's not going to be possible anymore.

Regardless of what game you are playing, those with a better setup than you will have an advantage. This is inevitable, and will never change. But in GD, it's so much more than just more frames and better reaction time. It makes the game play easier by no small margin. CBF helps a significant amount to come closer to nullifying the issue. This levels the playing field for all, and makes it so that you don't have to be rich to be good at the game. This mod really seems to be the best solution currently available to the inaccessibility of top level play. Feel free to yell at me about how my opinion is wrong, that's what this community is for after all.

the reason is because the only people who actually care and are affected are those people. the list needs to give up on the rate system in both the platformer list and the challenge list there's no quality standard and both lists tend to have way less explosive controversies instead of people attack robtop until he gives in and rates something the biggest platformer controversy is a disagreement on a placement of a level that people keep joking about
while i agree, i feel like the main reason the challenge and platformer lists dont have as big of controversies is because not nearly as many people care about those lists. i dont know why, but there are TONS of people who seem to care waaaaay too much about the demon list, and making it take unrated levels wouldnt really fix that imo.
The main issue is then the question of what qualifies as a real level or not. Removing the rate requirement for every 1 decent lvl that'd get placed sooner is 10 lvl's that're legit just slop on all fronts (Pls take a look down the unrated demon list)

this is just fps bypass in 2.1 all over again. as an ios player, im slightly annoyed by robtops decision to not add click between frames in the vanilla game because i wont ever be able to use it unless its in the vanilla game

CBF would fix many issues and not adding it is very dumb. Rob making his own version does not give me hope because everything he has added has been a trashy version of something already on Megahack and Geode. Took him years to add the bypass but he at least did not ban completions using the bypass before, now things are getting even dumber. Rob just wants his own way and does not really want to add what the community wants (as seen in the poll having 50% on good)
my theory is that robtops new cbf implementation will increase the input detection rate but still keep it fairly low, so that devices with low polling rates (like phones and certain types of mice) arent put at a disadventage
@@W01F_LuigiPres1 that's up to the hardware not robtop, the device itself caps the polling rate. Iphones at 60hz are capped to 120 polling rate and 120hz capped to 240 polling rate. Not 1200 or 2400hz.
I think Robtop should add cbf, but make it an optional feature. I don't personally use it, but if it changes the physics of the game rob should make it optional in case some people are use to the old physics and are struggling to use cbf. just an idea
I think CBF should be allowed because it is a quality of life improvement more than cheating. It makes your clicks more accurate and it's not noclip or anything. And you can't bring up the fact it is not on iOS because iOS did not get FPS bypass and FPS bypass was supported for the game. The arguments against CBF make no sense.

I do think its a good thing for ppl on low end devices, but to the ppl who think its straight up cheating, thats just ridiculous. If you would try it yourself, and you genuinely can tell, and it genuinely made you that much better at the game that you can say its cheating, then you can say that. But if you have never tried the mod in your life, then you have no say in whether it should be legitimate or not.

robtop’s take on it is stupid but understandable. difficult level has been a staple in the gd community and people will always find a way to get an advantage to make those levels easier, wether it be through softwares or hardwares, issue is not everyone is gonna have those luxuries and is stuck at a disadvantage, cbf allows those to get an equal advantage. an argument could be made that cbf counts as cheating due to it modifying the game, but i disagree. and as for the rating part i think the demon list should just create a separate category for those lists, one is for rated levels only, and the other one for a mix of rated and unrated levels. although those unrated level should still be at a decent quality
I remember in colon’s Ziplash video, he briefly explains how his level breaks with cbf enabled. So, he might not want to add it to the main game because it breaks some platformer levels/gimmicks. It would be a weird thing not to mention or to hide, but knowing rob that’s something he would do.

my guess for robs cbf is that he will implement click on steps, which will allow the inputs to be registered as if on 240fps on any fps, removing the disadvantage of low fps players in 2.2 without changing the physics like cbf
yeah that's what i think he will do, but i think he should raise it to 360fps, as well as the physics cap, that was the community standard in 2.1 and there's people with 360hz monitors, so i think it would be the most logical

I feel like robtop will make exceptions to some levels, notably grief as the backlash would probably be too hard (it will be like tidal wave but atleast 5x worse). Either way I respect robtop's decision. We can only hope for a game were CBF is eventually added

I'm not going to use CBF anyways, as I would have to relearn the level I'm working on. Maybe I will use it after I have beaten it (That is if I do beat it). However, I do think that the demon list allowing CBF is a good thing, as many people, no matter what FPS, can play the game with equal physics. Furthermore, I do think Robtop not allowing it is kinda stupid, as we should be able to use it at least until his own CBF version is out, as we do not know how long that will take. Edit: CBF might not change the physis of the game. However, it sure does make it play different. Which tbh, I dont really like
the slightest *physics* change would. but cbf doesnt change the physics. it doesnt change the way the level is played at all, and 100% of your muscle memory from no cbf will carry over to having cbf on. i encourage you to at least try it, just to see what i mean.
CBF makes the top levels more accessible for everyone, and not just straight up impossible. Only a few hundred people in the world can beat levels in the top 150 demonlist which kinda sucks cause the hardest levels always have the most fun gameplay and best decoration, i think this is a great move and will tighten the skill difference between mobile players and PC players. Not saying the demonlist levels will become much easier by any chance, but if you're skilled enough, you can beat them. Which is great, because after bloodlust this game's hardest levels have just become impossible for the average, above average and even grinding players.

For me its actually mind boggling that people are against having an even playing field. The same situation was for FPS bypass in which you don't need to own a high refresh rate monitor to get an even playing field except now you can be competitive no matter how lowend your device is. The only limiting factor at this point would be the latency of your input device. Also I'm not sure if it's just me but it feels weird that robtop would want to build his own version of CBF instead of utilizing a tool already made. He could just work with the creator of the mod to implement it to the vanilla game but him wanting his own version kinda hints to me he's too prideful to work hand-in-hand with the modding community.
100% agree, like even with the 240fps limit of 2.2 there's still a huge disadvantage for people who don't have a device that can run the game at those fps, with cbf there is no difference in fps, the only difference is the polling rate of your device wich in most cases is already over 240
i feel like it could be he wants everything to be his own code for simplicity sake, whenever i try to add code from other people's stuff into my projects even with their help it always becomes a nightmare to try and work with, everything is so much simpler when its things ive written myself

i understand why rob cant just "add cbf to the game", you have to remember that modding a game is way easier than developing a game, and also mods are only available / only work on computers, so it would have to be completely re-made so that it works on all devices before robtop could even consider adding it to the game which is probably why rob is working on his own version to see if its ideal

i think the only reason robtop is against it is because its an external mod, and he just considers any mod to the game cheating for verifications, regardless of what the mod itself does. and as for not adding it, from my experience adding other people's code to my own projects even with their help quickly makes everything much harder to work with, i prefer when everything is written by me, and as for it being not hard to code, i have no idea how geometry dash's physics backend works, so maybe it just doesnt play nicely with a lot of things, especially taking into account controller support and other platforms.

idk, when i tried the CBF in platforming levels with strong physics like Speedtek, it totally glitched the level for me. I was clipping through walls and was way too fast and rough. so I believe RobTop about the physics, well, at least based on my experience.
Yh it breaks platformer levels, but the physics in normal mode don't change at all, since that's constant movement and you don't have issues with momentum

tbf, i think the actual CBF shouldn't be added to the game and robtop is in the right for trying to remake it as he will try to test levels and stuff. good example of the normal CBF not being good is that it breaks some levels that have move triggers, like on Night Party at 56% its fully impossible with CBF as it just flings you up in the spikes after clicking with the spider so yeah. I had experiences of me just going through stuff with CBF that normally you couldn't without it so yeah just let robtop fix it first but I have no believes that it will be as good or better than the normal CBF we have.
My stance has been that I consider it cheating, and I will continue to do so. A poll with just over 50% approval is not nearly enough. iOS players not being able to get consistent demonlist submissions has nothing to do with it. Other platforms would still have the advantage at the end of the day.
I really dont like the idea of cbf tbh. I mean i know it makes the game more fun or whatnot but shouldn't be allowed to be in demon list or make a seperate list at least. Why robtop don't directly ask the creator of CBF if it would be possible to add it to IOS ? Btw I think robtop might even ban all type of cheats because of the multiplayer thing... iOS doesn’t allow zip or .exe files to work even when downloaded. Also, remember the FPS bypass was illegal before 2.2. Another reason robtop is doing this is because of everyone got an equal chance, it removes the challenge aspect of the demons and remove the legacy of some iconic demons like Catctylasm or IDCX. Also, remember robtop is a single man developer, so he can’t make the quality that a group of coders of certain features make
CBF is a mistake imo. If you take Grief as an example: Doggie is verifying it with CBF, but there's no way to tell whether it's physically doable WITHOUT using CBF or not. How is Rob supposed to rate a level without knowing whether it's even possible to beat it without any sort of hacks ? (Yes, a mod is considered a hack since it changes a huge part of the game's core aspects, in this case being the physics)

Robtop making his own version is 100% justified, as the current CBF mod has the problem of adding extra speed to the player when clicking between frames. (Very prevalent in platformer levels like zip lash)
As an iOS player lol I already think it’s unfair that MOST mobile are on 60fps and steam players are on 240fps which is already a huge disadvantage and them having cbf just creates a new unreachable gap for iOS and I think android too but I forgot so I understand rob wanting something for iOS aswell becasue once again 60fps player are still trying to beat something harder that cold sweat lol

Adding CBF might make most levels a bit harder to place on the list, as a wider variety of players will be able to access them, and therefore may create divisions as to what levels are harder. This can be affirmed by the fact that a lot of younger players may begin beating higher range extremes, and may overrate or underrate them, as we all do when we're young or inexperienced. Newer players would also have a similar effect, especially if they start playing extremes earlier on. I hope this makes sense. This is just my prediction for what may happen, so please don't start raging on the internet. Thank you :)
Fps never should have been a limiting factor in what can be achieved on which device. That is why I think CBF should be added to the game. At the end of the day, it isn't my game, and RobTop should do what he thinks is best for the game and the community.

I’m fine with CBF if Rob adds it to the game, but like what’s the point of beating a hard level, if it’s straight up not that hard anymore? The game is challenging because of it’s mechanics, and CBS is just nerfing them
Wdym? CBF makes the top levels more ACCESSIBLE for everyone, and not just straight up impossible. Only a few hundred people in the world can beat levels in the top 150 demonlist which kinda sucks cause the hardest levels always have the most fun gameplay and best decoration, i think this is a great move and will tighten the skill difference between mobile players and PC players. Not saying the demonlist levels will become much easier by any chance, but if you're skilled enough, you can beat them. Which is great, because after bloodlust this game's hardest levels have just become impossible for the average, above average and even grinding players.

i dont understand how people consider cbf cheating. while it does technically make the game "easier" what it actually does is make it more accurate. imagine if the game had a several second input delay, and a mod was released that got rid of it. sure, the game would be much "easier", but its not actually artificially boosting your skill level or anything, its just making it more accurate to your inputs.
I personally think that RobTop is in the right here. I believe that using CBF should be considered cheating. The simple reason why I think this is because it's a mod. The more complex reason and why I think this is different than the use of fps bypass is because, while it is possible to get a higher framerate without fps bypass by using a higher refresh rate monitor without the use of mods, it is not possible to click between frames without the use of mods. There is a fundamental flaw with the argument that the cbf mod is like fps bypass in that one is possible without modifying the game and the other is not. Of course, if RobTop added it into the base game as it is in the mod, then I would be less against it, but Rob has already stated that it will not be the same and, therefore, will still be modifying the game in a way that is impossible to do otherwise.
The thing is that the people who get the most benefit from it are pc players, which 99% of them can get the mod without any issues. For mobile, it wont make such a big impact because they usually tend to have high response time. Not saying that mobile players should be left with nothing, but its not fair to not let pc players have the best performance possible just because people who play on mobile cant have it. Mobile players will never have the same experience. Personally, with the 64bit upgrade + cbf while playing on 120 fps, I can finally run most of the modern levels without having to sacrifice visuals for playability. Before even with ldm I couldn't use my skill to its fullest because I couldn't reach enough fps. Ngl using a mod to fix this issue is more fair than having to suffer because I cant afford a better device.

Gonna be honest. The demonlist and casuals are no longer going to be compatible, because Robtop focuses on making the game better for everyone while the demonlist focuses on pushing difficulty of levels, but the demonlist only has rated levels, and that's going to be very limitating going forward because robtop only rates levels that are possible for everyone, which, if we're going to be pushing this game to its limits, that's not going to be possible anymore.

Regardless of what game you are playing, those with a better setup than you will have an advantage. This is inevitable, and will never change. But in GD, it's so much more than just more frames and better reaction time. It makes the game play easier by no small margin. CBF helps a significant amount to come closer to nullifying the issue. This levels the playing field for all, and makes it so that you don't have to be rich to be good at the game. This mod really seems to be the best solution currently available to the inaccessibility of top level play. Feel free to yell at me about how my opinion is wrong, that's what this community is for after all.

CBF would fix many issues and not adding it is very dumb. Rob making his own version does not give me hope because everything he has added has been a trashy version of something already on Megahack and Geode. Took him years to add the bypass but he at least did not ban completions using the bypass before, now things are getting even dumber. I think CBF should be allowed because it is a quality of life improvement more than cheating. It makes your clicks more accurate and it's not noclip or anything. And you can't bring up the fact it is not on iOS because iOS did not get FPS bypass and FPS bypass was supported for the game. The arguments against CBF make no sense.

robtop’s take on it is stupid but understandable. difficult level has been a staple in the gd community and people will always find a way to get an advantage to make those levels easier, wether it be through softwares or hardwares, issue is not everyone is gonna have those luxuries and is stuck at a disadvantage, cbf allows those to get an equal advantage. an argument could be made that cbf counts as cheating due to it modifying the game, but i disagree.
and as for the rating part i think the demon list should just create a separate category for those lists, one is for rated levels only, and the other one for a mix of rated and unrated levels. although those unrated level should still be at a decent quality

I'm not going to use CBF anyways, as I would have to relearn the level I'm working on. Maybe I will use it after I have beaten it (That is if I do beat it). However, I do think that the demon list allowing CBF is a good thing, as many people, no matter what FPS, can play the game with equal physics. Furthermore, I do think Robtop not allowing it is kinda stupid, as we should be able to use it at least until his own CBF version is out, as we do not know how long that will take.

The same situation was for FPS bypass in which you don't need to own a high refresh rate monitor to get an even playing field except now you can be competitive no matter how lowend your device is. The only limiting factor at this point would be the latency of your input device.
Also I'm not sure if it's just me but it feels weird that robtop would want to build his own version of CBF instead of utilizing a tool already made. He could just work with the creator of the mod to implement it to the vanilla game but him wanting his own version kinda hints to me he's too prideful to work hand-in-hand with the modding community.

So it's not a magic solution to all your problems but it will make it a bit easier to beat top levels (assuming you're using touch input and not a separate device, using a separate input device with a high polling rate WILL help).
i understand why rob cant just "add cbf to the game", you have to remember that modding a game is way easier than developing a game, and also mods are only available / only work on computers, so it would have to be completely re-made so that it works on all devices before robtop could even consider adding it to the game which is probably why rob is working on his own version to see if its ideal

I hate whenever people argue about this type of shit because all we have to do is make both sides happy by making a separate list that makes controversial mods legal/illegal. This community never wants to accept that there is a middle ground, and we have to just argue until the end of time. RobTop can be happy knowing the official Demon List doesn't endorse CBF, and CBF users can be happy they have their own list where their records are accepted as legit. It seriously pisses me off.

i find the possibility of the demonlist adding unrated levels just extremely dumb. There is a list for unrated levels, adding unrated levels to the demonlist will never happen and if it does then its not the "demon" list anymore
and it defeats the point of the list itself which is ranking the RATED levels

i think the only reason robtop is against it is because its an external mod, and he just considers any mod to the game cheating for verifications, regardless of what the mod itself does. and as for not adding it, from my experience adding other people's code to my own projects even with their help quickly makes everything much harder to work with, i prefer when everything is written by me, and as for it being not hard to code, i have no idea how geometry dash's physics backend works, so maybe it just doesnt play nicely with a lot of things, especially taking into account controller support and other platforms.

Honestly I just want 2.204 CBF mod to be back, the new 2.206 version sucks, the old one only used to bug in platformer mode, the new one bugs even in classic mode when _supposedly_ it shouldn't affect gameplay
Conclusion : you can't verify a level with cbf, but your record will be counted if you beat it (not verifying) and robtop ain't adding it to gd but he's making his version of it (its going to suck pure ass)

idk, when i tried the CBF in platforming levels with strong physics like Speedtek, it totally glitched the level for me. I was clipping through walls and was way too fast and rough. so I believe RobTop about the physics, well, at least based on my experience.
Yh it breaks platformer levels, but the physics in normal mode don't change at all, since that's constant movement and you don't have issues with momentum

tbf, i think the actual CBF shouldn't be added to the game and robtop is in the right for trying to remake it as he will try to test levels and stuff.
good example of the normal CBF not being good is that it breaks some levels that have move triggers, like on Night Party at 56% its fully impossible with CBF as it just flings you up in the spikes after clicking with the spider so yeah.
I had experiences of me just going through stuff with CBF that normally you couldn't without it so yeah just let robtop fix it first but I have no believes that it will be as good or better than the normal CBF we have.
My stance has been that I consider it cheating, and I will continue to do so. A poll with just over 50% approval is not nearly enough. iOS players not being able to get consistent demonlist submissions has nothing to do with it. Other platforms would still have the advantage at the end of the day.
I really dont like the idea of cbf tbh. I mean i know it makes the game more fun or whatnot but shouldn't be allowed to be in demon list or make a seperate list at least. It's like basically all the efforts to verified a level is being discarded. If you want to have fun just dont play hard maps instead of relying on external tools. Play within your capabilities.

iOS doesn’t allow zip or .exe files to work even when downloaded. Also, remember the FPS bypass was illegal before 2.2. Another reason robtop is doing this is because of everyone got an equal chance, it removes the challenge aspect of the demons and remove the legacy of some iconic demons like Catctylasm or IDCX. Also, remember robtop is a single man developer, so he can’t make the quality that a group of coders of certain features make
CBF is a mistake imo. If you take Grief as an example: Doggie is verifying it with CBF, but there's no way to tell whether it's physically doable WITHOUT using CBF or not. How is Rob supposed to rate a level without knowing whether it's even possible to beat it without any sort of hacks ? (Yes, a mod is considered a hack since it changes a huge part of the game's core aspects, in this case being the physics)

Robtop making his own version is 100% justified, as the current CBF mod has the problem of adding extra speed to the player when clicking between frames. (Very prevalent in platformer levels like zip lash)

I feel like I would be the player that literally gets worse because of CBF ngl.
Adding CBF might make most levels a bit harder to place on the list, as a wider variety of players will be able to access them, and therefore may create divisions as to what levels are harder. This can be affirmed by the fact that a lot of younger players may begin beating higher range extremes, and may overrate or underrate them, as we all do when we're young or inexperienced. Newer players would also have a similar effect, especially if they start playing extremes earlier on.

Fps never should have been a limiting factor in what can be achieved on which device. That is why I think CBF should be added to the game. At the end of the day, it isn't my game, and RobTop should do what he thinks is best for the game and the community.

As an IOS player, im fine with C.B.F being on other platforms as the mobile progression is far behind than the actual demon list.

Wdym? CBF makes the top levels more ACCESSIBLE for everyone, and not just straight up impossible. Only a few hundred people in the world can beat levels in the top 150 demonlist which kinda sucks cause the hardest levels always have the most fun gameplay and best decoration, i think this is a great move and will tighten the skill difference between mobile players and PC players. Not saying the demonlist levels will become much easier by any chance, but if you're skilled enough, you can beat them. Which is great, because after bloodlust this game's hardest levels have just become impossible for the average, above average and even grinding players.

i dont understand how people consider cbf cheating. while it does technically make the game "easier" what it actually does is make it more accurate. imagine if the game had a several second input delay, and a mod was released that got rid of it. sure, the game would be much "easier", but its not actually artificially boosting your skill level or anything, its just making it more accurate to your inputs.

I personally think that RobTop is in the right here. I believe that using CBF should be considered cheating. The simple reason why I think this is because it's a mod. The more complex reason and why I think this is different than the use of fps bypass is because, while it is possible to get a higher framerate without fps bypass by using a higher refresh rate monitor without the use of mods, it is not possible to click between frames without the use of mods. There is a fundamental flaw with the argument that the cbf mod is like fps bypass in that one is possible without modifying the game and the other is not. Of course, if RobTop added it into the base game as it is in the mod, then I would be less against it, but Rob has already stated that it will not be the same and, therefore, will still be modifying the game in a way that is impossible to do otherwise.
The thing is that the people who get the most benefit from it are pc players, which 99% of them can get the mod without any issues. For mobile, it wont make such a big impact because they usually tend to have high response time. Not saying that mobile players should be left with nothing, but its not fair to not let pc players have the best performance possible just because people who play on mobile cant have it. Mobile players will never have the same experience.
Personally, with the 64bit upgrade + cbf while playing on 120 fps, I can finally run most of the modern levels without having to sacrifice visuals for playability. Before even with ldm I couldn't use my skill to its fullest because I couldn't reach enough fps. Ngl using a mod to fix this issue is more fair than having to suffer because I cant afford a better device.
