  • Hello. As promised I came back with the promised video with the hydrogen generator that separates water from hydrogen and oxygen. This generator removes pure hydrogen and pure oxygen separately, so this hho generator is a separator. I used a 3D printer to get some parts much easier than making them from other materials. The walls of the generator are made of 10 mm plexiglass cut, drilled and shaped by me. The gaskets are made of 0.5 mm thick rubber. The stainless steel plates are made of laser cut 316L stainless steel. The surface where the electrolysis takes place is 100 mm in diameter, so the separators I took out of the 3 d printer have a diameter of 100 mm and a thickness of 5 mm. As you saw in the video, oxygen comes out on the right side and pure hydrogen comes out on the left side. For electrolysis I used distilled water and a little potassium hydroxide and as usual current from a 12 V car battery. The amps consumed were around 8-10 amps. We used 7 stainless steel plates, 4 of which were made to produce hydrogen and 3 to produce oxygen. You can use more boards if you want a higher production. I'm not going to use this generator for anything, I just built it to get an idea of ​​how you can separate the two gases.

      please try it next time with graphite foil 1mm thickness instead of steel - I heard about it's 3 times more efficient,less power need less service / cleaning needed

      And yeah plz make a cell with graphite electrodes to exhibit its efficiency and performance.

    I am very much into the utilization of water for energy. I am an electrician by trade and have some very practical knowledge of creating distribution & utilization of electricity.
    I have yet to see one of these builds discuss, or show, that the production meets or exceeds the consumption.

      I have never produced energy with hho, I just consumed, I think as long as it is produced with free energy (solar panel, car alternator, etc.) I think it is cost effective. If you are an electrician you could help me with a good pwm

      @@Inventive101 ~ the way I am thinking about this is that the energy (from hydrogen) that this produces produced would be used to drive a generator which produces electricity.
      I am wondering if it produces enough hydrogen to keep the generator running. If so, the voltage can be stepped up to utilization voltage through the use of transformers.
      For example... if the hydrogen can drive a generator to produce say... 12v, then a 10:1 transformer can then step that 12v up to 120v. Use a second leg to produce single phase 120/240 volt for house power.
      Further, I think I understand that when the hydrogen is burned, the exhaust is then turned back into water; isn’t that correct?

      Ever heard of the conservation of energy? You’ll never get more energy by putting hydrogen and oxygen together (combustion) than it took to split it apart (electrolysis). The point of doing this is that you can do things with hydrogen and oxygen that you can’t do with electricity

    Lower voltages and higher temperatures seem to give better efficiency, but I don't why this is? If all the energy to separate the hydrogen & oxygen came from electric current at 25 degrees Celsius and no heat came from the reaction, the thermoneutral voltage of 1.481 volts appears to be a base point reference between organizing mass & disorganizing mass in the electrolysis of water. If I am thinking right, I would need to find a source of waste heat and make your HHO generator withstand the temperature of a burning-stoichiometric ratio of oxygen & hydrogen in an over-square cylinder? Looking forward to your next video!

    Sorry, but I think all pipes in the middle receive a mixture of h2 and o2. While one plate creates oxygen, another plate makes hydrogen. The generated gas is not pure. Is that right?

      You're absolutely right. This design does not separate anything. The top holes in the plates causes both sides of each plate to vent out through the same port. One side creates H2 and the other O2. Then both is mixed before it reaches the outlets of the printed parts. If anything then the separation reduces the max current, because it can only flow trough the small hole in the printed part. That then reduces how much hho can be produced.

    It's nice to see the HHO that has used 3D printed material electrode, I have better material. By the way, the title is confusing /misleading, you get only HHO and not pure H2. We can discuss if you want to take it beyond the prototype stage.

      From my point of view it is not necessary, separating the gases you lose time and power, it is just my opinion

      Howdy. I always use 12V, I made a video with almost every generator of mine how much it consumes and how much it produces, I also produced 2 liters per minute with 15 amps, all different
