If using a fan, rather than a compressor, make sure the motor is brushless, because HHO requires no external oxygen or fuel and will burn very quickly, producing lots of heat and expansion, given any sort of a trigger. Far safer, not to mention more efficient, to use the electricity directly, to produce heat, without the inefficient electrolysis in between. Energy in equals energy out. But the energy out is nearly always in several forms, not all of which can be harnessed. Electric to heat is about the most efficient we’ve managed to achieve, yet. Using it to “unburn” hydrogen, pump the hydrogen around and then burn it again inefficiently is about as sensible as pouring water from a bucket into your hands, carrying the water up a hill and throwing it back to the bucket. That's not accurate though, in the interpretation of thermal efficiency. While electricity to heat production is nearly lossless, from an energetic standpoint, it is only a 1 to 1 ratio at best - 1 Joule of electricty = 1 Joule of heat production. Burning gas, however, for heat production is far more efficient - over 4 Joules of heat output for natural gas, for example. Using the intermediary step of electrolysis to produce gas locally, on demand, and thereby burning it for heat has a much higher thermal output than simply shorting out a wire with electricity to produce heat. The compressor is absolutely unnecessary; if you were to place the burner underneath an old heat exchanger from an HVAC unit, and blow a small and efficient fan from an old PC or 3D printer - (24V, 0.21A) over the heat exchanger, you'd be looking at a tremendous thermal output at the cost of approx. 200 watts, maximum, of electricity. Yes, this will definately work. One word on safety. No shortcuts in sealing all pipes, connections and lids. Also be aware of burn rate of stove vs quantity of gas generated. Keep in mind what pressure the gas generating jar can safely handle. The ultimate? Combine with an energy generating solution for the fridge compressor. Such as a car battery for instance? Recharge battery as needed with solar energy?
Some of the cons: 1. The process uses way too much energy for electrolysis. And if you think solar, - it's not the kind like the solar rug you can comfortably bring along. 2. This means you will have to bring the gas along, but since this is Hydrogen - you can forget it. 3. Hydrogen has much higher flame speed which means it will be prone to burning sections of food unless attended constantly. This can be helped with a large (and heavy) chunk of metal to transfer heat from the flame and to be used as a stove top. Since you would barely see Hydrogen flame at night time, - shouldn't be a big deal. But I'm not sure it's the best choice for cooking. Natural gas is cheaper to extract, using electricity to cook would consume less energy than using it to produce hydrogen then cook (sorry "water powered car" enthusiasts). 4. Hydrogen is highly explosive. Hydrogen-air mixture will ignite from the lightest of sparks. You are safe cooking outdoors since Hydrogen is a very light gas and it rises immediately. But inside, if you have even the tiniest of leaks, - Hydrogen will pool under the ceiling space just waiting for that unlucky spark. And you won't suspect a thing because it's odorless. Some of the pros: 1. Makes a cool RUclips video 2. Brings so much cash to its creator that he would never have to worry about his electric bills. 3. Reminds people that they have their own DIY project (that hopefully won't result in a DOA). 4. Reinvigorates the imagination: for example, - thinking whether using thousands of Hydrogen filled balloons to travel by air would offset some of the costs of producing Hydrogen and make bringing it to your camping spot - a breeze. 😂 Please, always be careful when working with Hydrogen. Read your WHMIS and follow the guidelines religiously.
At least it is safe outside # and with good safety measures it can work inside # hydrogen is the poor people energy that capitalist could not and will not store and commercialise to the have not #
Physics is indifferent to politics. If you ever worked with hydrogen, particularly compressed hydrogen, - you'd be as worried about it as those who have, regardless of whether you're "bourgeois" or "proletariat". It's a volatile gas that escapes through the very best of seals and right through metal too. You would also have to use massive amount of "capitalist" electricity to produce it via electrolysis, which is way too expensive. And if you already have dozens of high wattage "capitalist" produced solar panels, - you don't really need hydrogen, since you could achieve more with electricity from solar panels alone.@@mouleoub

Good stuff. You've showed a quite easy way to do it with common things that are available to everyone, except for the compressor. The good news is THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE COMPRESSOR. It would work anyway. The difference would be in the pressure, that would be less, but still enough to cook anything, slower.
It's possible to compress it into a cylinder. No compressor necessary, just metal plates, razor blades will work well, an efficient solution such as sodium hydroxide, baking powder, or even urine. Have a spark arrestor fitted incase to stop a potential explosion in the main production tank. Anode and cathode wiring.
I guess if you are in a remote village & have just run out of cooking gas & don,t have access to an electric cooker And have some mother boards, lots of empty jars, a fridge compressor & stable electric supply this could come in handy to fry a couple of eggs
Compressor itself is about 400-500watts and additional 24v6A for electrolysis is about 144watts totalling to about 550-650watts of electricity bills..😁 Better replaced with solar power supply and a smaller fans for pushing out the hydrogen..✌️
@@atukintso1405 A single electrolytic cell running 6 amps produces a mere 44 mL / minute of hydrogen. This guy is pulling our chain. Now the energy that is going into that compressor, if all of that was used to split water instead then MAYBE you could get that high of a flame. Agreed, solar would be great, especially in his apparent location. Looks like India. Lots of sun.
This is one of the superb project and best knowledgeable also by you. Its not a difficult to understand but, it would be better if you explain it in a simple English education system. One need to know its capacity range for its storage quantity for regular use.❤😊
Would it be more practical to buy a 300-watt electric stove? a fridge compressor runs at 350 to 800 watts. A 300-watt electric stove would consume less power. It would impact less on your electric bill.😄😁. No hate to this post. I liked the innovation, but if you can come up with an alternative to the fridge compressor, that would be great.
It is a genius idea to use frig. compressor for cooling the water in Electrolysis, as in continues long time usage, the water in electrolysis, will start to boil, the frig. compressor, beside the producing the pressure in electrolysis, it helps to cool done the water too. For those, who have objections, in using the heat sinks, I spouse, they can be replaced with copper plates. My only concern is, salt reaction in electrolysis, which, will produce toxic gases, I wander, if it happens, in this configuration too, or not?!
It's just a "show"... the equipment will fail really soon, the chlorine gas produced by electrolysing salt water will destroy the aluminium heat sink and the pipes. Furthermore, did you notice that when he removes his lighter from the output tube the flame disappears ? The gas is not combustible.
Compressor itself consume about 400-500watts of electricity, additional 144watts(24v6A) for electrolysis, that's not cheap.running for hours will result in high electricity bills than a regular gas...😁
The fridge compressor compresses the gas in a circuit of a fridge. It's a mechanism to absorb heat from inside the fridge and radiate it through the back of the fridge, thus cooling down the inside. But, in this case the purpose of using the fridge compressor is not to cool down the water temperature but to pump out the Hydrogen and Oxygen produced by the electrolysis. 😂 However, the method of extracting the hydrogen shown here involves a higher cost of electricity.
Its very good idea, but again you are using electricity, means energy against energy in shape of fridge compressor, it also consumes units as per usage, what if a 12 volt pump should be used to avoid huge elect bill.
Compressor used around 400-500watts, + 144watts(24v6A) for electrolysis, that's a huge electricity bills😁 Replacing compressor with lighter pumps can reduce electric bills..✌️
24 vdc @ 6 amp to break a covalant bond, when the most efficient Methode would be a coil. I just built one myself, suggestion on long term storage of gas or fuel cell one demand, I just want a psi or 3
Hi, Thank you for sharing this with us. I want to build one, but I have a couple of questions before I can proceed. Please tell me: Can I buy & use an aluminum heat ink and get the same results that you did? What was your electrical supply (i.e. did the electric come from an electric cord that has a plug for a socket at one end-a lamp cord?)? I do not see that you used a DC Power Supply Variable Thank you for the attention that you have given to my concerns. 😊👍
Use stainless steel for electrodes. Not Aluminum. . Aluminum wear out fast. For a power supply he did tell you . . use a 24vDC 6 Amps power source. It´s not house voltage.
Jeff is right. You can use SS. I used titanium bought on ebay and sodium hypochlorite also from ebay. Pvc cell vessel and the same for the flashback preventer. Runs of of 12vdc but 24vdc 6amp would be better. Also used a electrical wave modulater to be able to adjust the the amount of power to the cell grid. Utube has bunches of videos on the science behind it and how to make a variety of cells. Some of these people are actually real scientist. Lol. Have fun and be very careful.
Excellent video. Liked it. Two questions 1. Compressor needs to be a working one and should be connected to AC power. What is that circuit ? 2. You connected heatsink with another circuit, didn't explained anything how to make that. Please clarify
if you have access to power to run the compressor why not just plug in a portable hot plate ?? & what happened to the Freon from the poor fridge or freezer you stole it from, it was not likely properly recovered right ?, as you appear to be one of those cut the lines & let it fly guys, lol now add the fact that the aluminum heat sinks will oxidize, deteriorate over time of use & are expensive if you have to buy them, the Brillo pads in old socks method of generating hydrogen is more cost effective for practical use, then is the toxic byproduct, the old used water now with heavy metals in it from the electrolysis process ?? , oh we just dump it on the ground or down the drain, lol
Great how you spotted all the blind or ignored details. Free or Renwable energies shouldn't destroy the environment. Sustainability is not about infite source, but clean and without adverse effect.
Even in welding and cutting they use Cooking gas and then oxygen and other gases. First gas is only for first lighting. Today I say in catering table top stove they use very minimum gas but use oxygen to give fast burner to make tandoori. It is possible in a large area but not in homes. Don't try it at home.
My guess is the cost of the electricity outweighs the money saved on gas. I know that because if I was wrong, this system would already be widely used. No miracle money saver here, however, if one happened to have no way to get cooking gas, this may come in handy as it is most likely more efficient than an electric stove....I think. Conclusion, save the video to your Just In Case folder.
@@dmbtmk1964 I think it is possible to use a container with compressed air instead. The purpose is to create pressure and air does not escape because there is water in between. Also, an inflated tyre might work.

Some of the pros:
1. Makes a cool RUclips video
😂
Please, always be careful when working with Hydrogen. Read your WHMIS and follow the guidelines religiously.
Where did he buy that drill bit?😂
At least it is safe outside # and with good safety measures it can work inside # hydrogen is the poor people energy that capitalist could not and will not store and commercialise to the have not
#

Don't tell me you never heard of DIYs which progress to DUI and sometimes result in DOAs 🤔😏@@shaiklaw9176
Parece ser funcional em uma emergência. Porém,só o fato e manter um compressor de geladeira e uma fonte, ligada. Não me parecer se de graça.

Don't understand what you mean
It's works he could use the compressor to fill tanks up for mopeds and cars or power a generator up
Good stuff. You've showed a quite easy way to do it with common things that are available to everyone, except for the compressor.
The good news is THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE COMPRESSOR. It would work anyway.
The difference would be in the pressure, that would be less, but still enough to cook anything, slower.
yes you can replace fridge compressor with 12v air pump
do we need compressor compulsory ?? or we can just use gas without it ??
What HHO.. its a boiling water
I guess if you are in a remote village & have just run out of cooking gas & don,t have access to an electric cooker
And have some mother boards, lots of empty jars, a fridge compressor & stable electric supply this could come in handy to fry a couple of eggs
One of the best video I've watched on how to Cook or fry Egg !!! Very educational indeed!
Wonderful. Hats off.
Let all your efforts be recognised and rewarded.
at school they taught that a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen should explode, but here it only burns when it comes out of the burner, I don’t understand
Have you taken into account the effect on electricity consumption while saving on gas with this invention?
Compressor itself is about 400-500watts and additional 24v6A for electrolysis is about 144watts totalling to about 550-650watts of electricity bills..😁
Better replaced with solar power supply and a smaller fans for pushing out the hydrogen..✌️
Given the fact the air pressure is not high, one may use a small electric usb pump, which uses like 5W.
Yep, it is faked. The flame is not from the minute quantity of hydrogen that is produced. @@ChristmasEve777

This is one of the superb project and best knowledgeable also by you. Its not a difficult to understand but, it would be better if you explain it in a simple English education system. One need to know its capacity range for its storage quantity for regular use.❤😊

Thanks ❤️
@@king_650how about if i use sea water instead of adding salt? Is it ok?
10h means,10hrs using time
How many watts of the fridge compressor and how much electricity will it consume in 10 hours??
Maybe offer to do his subtitles or somebody can show him how to do it automatically
FANTASTICS.
SIR, HOW LONG OR NO OF DAYS WILL THIS SERVE?
THANKS
Would it be more practical to buy a 300-watt electric stove? a fridge compressor runs at 350 to 800 watts. A 300-watt electric stove would consume less power. It would impact less on your electric bill.😄😁. No hate to this post. I liked the innovation, but if you can come up with an alternative to the fridge compressor, that would be great.
a 10 watt aquarium compressor will give the same air flow
我觉得冰箱压缩机只是和幌子😂那里面有个气罐😂
Great Job
Eco Friendly - Less Cost - No petrolium - Water & Salt only every where found easily but (Electric Consumption) ?
It is a genius idea to use frig. compressor for cooling the water in Electrolysis, as in continues long time usage, the water in electrolysis, will start to boil, the frig. compressor, beside the producing the pressure in electrolysis, it helps to cool done the water too. For those, who have objections, in using the heat sinks, I spouse, they can be replaced with copper plates. My only concern is, salt reaction in electrolysis, which, will produce toxic gases, I wander, if it happens, in this configuration too, or not?!
He was using it a a pump
@@atukintso1405, electricity is cheaper than LPG. Use a solenoid air compressor like Boyo.
Great, American ingenuity!

Its very good idea, but again you are using electricity, means energy against energy in shape of fridge compressor, it also consumes units as per usage, what if a 12 volt pump should be used to avoid huge elect bill.
12 volts x 6 amps, 72 watts power consumption, not bad
Compressor power?
yes you are right, @@ashokchovatiya5638
500 watts of compressor plus 72 watts of 12v x6 amp plates.. 572 watts..
24 v x 6 amp
That's one sharp drill bit!!!!!!
One can use electricity directly instead of using it to produce hydrogen
No use car battery
how much electricity from a car battery can you use to cook?
Compressor used around 400-500watts, + 144watts(24v6A) for electrolysis, that's a huge electricity bills😁
Replacing compressor with lighter pumps can reduce electric bills..✌️

The electric board is particular one or which do use.
I think he is using the alluminium ones found on most motherboards
It would have been more economical using a gas stove. Anyway, the idea is good as it's creativity
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. This will in turn be improved like the use of solar power to help save money and our environment. Bravo!!!👍
Boa ideia vó aprimorar a sua ideia show parabéns
It's not a free gas because you still used electricity.
That's what am seen also
use a solar panel
24 vdc @ 6 amp to break a covalant bond, when the most efficient Methode would be a coil.
I just built one myself, suggestion on long term storage of gas or fuel cell one demand, I just want a psi or 3
Absolutely right 👍👍
Used electricity,and compressor with gas.
mantabz bang karyanya..,👍👍👍👍
Caution regards HHO engines this is very explosive. Not a safe alternative for home cooking.
if the volume is not properly monitored & properly regulated for safety, it is very dangerous. It will become a distructive hydrogen bomb!

Best thing you did for changing world history
Hi, Thank you for sharing this with us. I want to build one, but I have a couple of questions before I can proceed. Please tell me:
Can I buy & use an aluminum heat ink and get the same results that you did?
What was your electrical supply (i.e. did the electric come from an electric cord that has a plug for a socket at one end-a lamp cord?)? I do not see that you used a DC Power Supply Variable
Thank you for the attention that you have given to my concerns.

You cannot reproduce what he shows without a hidden source of additional flammable gas.
& what happened to the Freon from the poor fridge or freezer you stole it from, it was not likely properly recovered right ?, as you appear to be one of those cut the lines & let it fly guys, lol
now add the fact that the aluminum heat sinks will oxidize, deteriorate over time of use & are expensive if you have to buy them, the Brillo pads in old socks method of generating hydrogen is more cost effective for practical use, then is the toxic byproduct, the old used water now with heavy metals in it from the electrolysis process ?? , oh we just dump it on the ground or down the drain, lol
Great how you spotted all the blind or ignored details. Free or Renwable energies shouldn't destroy the environment. Sustainability is not about infite source, but clean and without adverse effect.
Wow... Zabardast informatry video... thanks
Amazing...inspirative n aspitative 👍👍👍
Great man low budget project
Its a free gas "Stove"
That was brilliant
but used electric to run it.... duh...
@@dmbtmk1964 I think it is possible to use a container with compressed air instead. The purpose is to create pressure and air does not escape because there is water in between. Also, an inflated tyre might work.
