When I think of when my mother died I feel the sorrow now and when my mother died. My brother vacationed in Scotland two weeks ago and said Scotland looked a lot like Kentucky. I must have been a Scotsman in a previous life because every time I hear this music it stirs something deep inside me, sometimes bringing me to tears. It started the first time I saw the Black Watch perform in 1964.
That butcher used to supply haggis to the queen! I may wrong but I think I heard Charlie boy took his royal warrant off him! Better to check what I've said but I'm sure that's what I heard.

FANTASTIC. I listened to this on Christmas day for festive cheer. I was also very moved to hear the pipers' lament on both the funerals of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip. Imagine hearing that before a battle! I'd be off like a shot.

My dear father, 92 years old, who died 3 weeks ago, heard this music the first time in his live, when the Canadian and English troops entered The Hague in early may 1945. He was 13 years old and mostly skin and bones after 8 months of hunger. But the Scots bands played and played and he walked behind it. Totally in trance with the bagpipes.... And always after that, he felt Liberation when he heard this music. So we had a real balpipes player at his funeral, in kilt and everything. Ah, you should have seen the stunned faces when he started to use the bagpipes... What a way to send off, our dear warrior father. And my heartfelt thanks to the Scots for this music. Respect from Holland!
