The Crown of Scotland being taken down the Royal Mile to The Scottish Parliament where Queen Elizabeth was going to open the parliament for the 5th time.
The Scots have the best marching band spectacle on the planet......maybe the Royal Marines can match them....but for sheer spectacle they are unmatched. They put fire into the blood of even this Englishman. They also have the best sense of humour in the UK...a truly great nation, Scots make up a good percentage of SF in the UK...that has to tell you something. What an amazing country...I hope you guys don't leave the UK....we love you as a part of Britain...

I've seen it. 120-odd pipes and drums of the Scots College in Sydney marching out of the morning fog playing Scotland the Brave - Australian Army barracks, Singleton, Australia, December 1973. The hairs on the back of my neck were standing to attention. It was absolutely awesome.

Of th four-five tunes they played, I could name all but two. And that strathspey at the end. Little help? Well, one of these is Green Hills aka Scottish Soldier, paired with Battle's O'er. Highland Laddie.
Interesting...look at the Canadian Black Watch...belting pipes and drums...just like their forebears...the Gurkhas are good....but I am glad the Black Watch are on our side

Or over flat water... my pipes carried so well I'd hear the notes echoing back off the headlands on that creek of the Chesapeake Bay.
