I grew up fishing that bridge. It is not what it used to be. However, you definitely experienced a good mutton bite window on your other trip. The tides, moon phases, and weather all have a big affect on the fishing there. Keeps us coming back to recreate those special moments when the stars align. Glad you had fun brother 👍🏼

Great video as always. I especially appreciate the reality clips of the strugglea of kayaking, that's keeping it real, not every trip is gonna be screaming reels and epic days. I learn a lot from how you solve your challenges on the water. Tight lines always. Keep it up.

Good stuff as always. Fishing is fishing, the good thing about kayaking is it's like micro fishing. Given the time, you can learn every structure. The Keys them self would take years to "master", so much water and your only fishing the gulf. Deep water on the east is def a big boat game.

You've made me learn new techniques I never thought worked on the finicky fish! You are the freakn man! What a shame we gotta wait till February! You should move down here and get awesome content daily! Wait till you try night fishing down here...youd be surprised the massive Snooks,Shark, Snappers and Tarpons show up! It's all about timing these temp changes!

Yeah. It’s a little dicey. The biggest shark I saw at that bridge was a 17 foot hammerhead. Might have been the fabled “Big Moe” people talk about in the keys. Monster… had a small school of tarpon on his tail as he swam through.

If you grow up living in Florida, you get use to alligators and sharks. IMO you can generally be in the environment with them, provided you respect them and keep a healthy distance. I have found both alligators and sharks (if not hand fed by man) to not have any interest in humans. That's just me. You do what you are comfortable with.

There is a definite lack of fish cleaning stations in the Keys. I swear the Bahia Honda is the southernmost point of overwintering Jack Crevalle in the U.S. I am surprised you didn't hook a giant Jack especially under U.S.1. For the start of incoming tide and green water after a front you were fishing your results added up. You can't pick your tides but green water on an outgoing is great fishing!

Midwestern resident here. I'm going down to Florida to do some fishing in February. We usually just use live shrimp and do ok. Any tips for when we are down there as far as where to go or what to go for? Also, are you supposed to bleed your fish before you put them on ice or does it not matter? Happy fishing, all.

Seems you had excellent conditions that day. In your opinion, 10lb Jack Cravale vs. 10lb Bluefish, which one offers a stronger fight? I have only caught gator blues off of Long Island and Staten Island. Never a JC when in Florida.
