That's wild. I remember as a kid reading in a magazine guys in Alabama or Mississippi taking a weedeater on the boat to punch holes in the grass. First time I've ever seen it tho.

We use to troll lines really slowly down the creeks , balsa wood bobber , about 2 to 3 feet deep , with a light split shot and a small hook with a cricket on it. Like 8 to 10 poles out at once. Usually cane poles , 4 pound test. Real simple rigs , paddle very slowly. Crappie do move around some but they usually stay in sizes , and they move in huge schools , you catch one , stop and you will catch 40 more , if you catch the first one and its very small , then just keep moving. Find another , larger per fish school. They are fun on light tackle but its just filler , for the table , they are crazy good table fare.
Man i can watch these vids all day. This is my kind of fishing. You can not beat bream and crappie. This lake looks a lot like the lake i fish here in the MS delta. I’ve been wading here the last 2 weeks catching crappie. Again, absolutely love to eat them too! God Bless

I've been having a ball fishing for crappie this winter in VA. I havent fished for them since i was a kid and i forgot how fun they are. You're definitely right about them being funny some days, it can come down to not having the right color lure on your jig. I've been having fun with the white perch too when i can find them. There's just something about fishing for panfish that is just fun

Crappie are one of my favorite fish to target on freshwater. Around Philly it's rough cause there is allot of rivers and streams and the lakes that are around that were good for crappie are all closed now because Aqua owns them. Since 9/11 they shut them down. I still sneak into a few and there are some ridiculous fish in them. Dinner plate crappie, 50in muskie, double digit largies, and super thick smallies.

The gothic woods, the mystery, the green primordial slime, the prehistoric fish. One thing about crappie in spring, a little scattered, but if you can find a submerged tree or brush pile, try mini bucktails with pink or red heads, vertical.

I put some ZATARAINS Crab and Shrimp Boil Liquid in my egg wash when I fry fish, shrimp and pork chops. It’s delicious to me. Try it if you have not already tried it. Watch out for how much you use.
