- The newer disorder called R-CPD (No burp) was originally described in 2019 by Bastian and Smithson. Both diagnostic criteria and details of successful treatment with botulinum toxin ('botox') were included in that report.
Many doctors worldwide are now helping persons with this terrible affliction. But is dose the reason a small number don't respond as well?

Hi Dr. Bastian!!! I am 13 years old, and I got botox about 1 month ago and I still do not feel any relief. I am able to burp now, but I do not feel any better than I did previous to the botox treatment. Is this normal? Should I give it more time to work or should I get a second dose of botox? Thank you for educating everyone on R-CPD

It varies... We tell our patients, "24-72 hours" but then explain that occasionally it is sooner, and occasionally it is longer...
@@Laryngopedia thank you for your answer. I had 50 Units in Europe and now 11 days post botox still no burps. They stuck in the throat and dont get out like a normal burp 😔 only stange sounds... I hope it will get better over the next days.

@@stini2325 no burps after the first injection. I had a second one with 80 units 12 days ago. I can burp since 2 days if I drink sparkling water. But I think it is not the optimum right now and I hope it gets better over the next days / weeks

I had my Botox done at Bastian Voice 3 weeks ago but still struggling to burp, I probably get one burp a day if I am lucky. I am wondering if this is normal?
I am one of the people that botox doesn’t do much but don’t have enough money for the laser surgery, have gotten botox three times

@@britneyalvarez4915 omg Im so sorry to hear that 🥹 this absolutely sucks . But no relief I actually feel like my symptoms haven’t gotten worse and I went from gurgling just at the end of the day to gurgling 24/7 😭 everything I eat / drink now makes me gurgle 🥲
@@AnnySarahi oof..I understand that was me before i went to see him and I actually ended up in the hospital with morphine because of the chest pain, i still have the symptoms but less
