Thank you!!! Words can not describe how much hope this gives me! It seems like such a small issue that wouldn't disrupt your life but it's awful! It used to be a funny "party trick" to show my friends as a child when I'd make "frog noises". But then as a teen girl and then woman it's less funny. Never did I'd think it'd turn into something that would make me so uncomfortable I be crying and having panic attacks because nothing i did helped. I always thought the "gurgling" was just how I "burped" but apparently thats not the air coming up or else I would taste it?? Which is mind boggling to me. Explains why I get never get relief no matter what I do. I also have severe anxiety & (possible)PMDD which is probably making it worse (Rapid breathing & Menstrual cycle dyspepsia). Don't get me started on the nausea. I once had a Dr give me what he called the "G.I. cocktail" for GERD and when it didn't work he said "Hmm that sounds like it might be an issue with your "esophageal opening". It all makes so much sense now!!!
Myself, dad, and sister ALL can't burp! We have all the symptoms, but mine seem to be the worst. Horrible and excessive flatulence, the gurgles, SOB after eating, gas distention, nausea, coughing during and after meals, and the list could probably continue. Any need for research on an entire family? We would sign up to be test subjects!

I was fortunate enough to be able to teach myself how to burp. Have been trying to teach others in the community and am finding varied success. Glad there's a procedure for it!
