Judging by the pfp, Is Yogi (& Oreo) a field bred English cocker or springer spaniel?! Ironically I’m here looking to make a collar for my future field bred cocker spaniel
Yogi is a mix of a yellow lab and a Burmese mountain dog, and Oreo is a border collie. The collars are a little bit different in size but the individual who made them does an excellent job. I would definitely recommend you get a collar it’s a work of art and functions beautifully.
Haha thank you so much. I appreciate it. I'm still a beginner compared to some of the guys out there but I really do love leather crafting. Hopefully one day somebody like me now will watch my videos and hope they make it to that level.
Are you wanting more of a tutorial or just an explanation of why I'm doing something that particular way. I have just been trying to keep the video somewhat short. But if you want more information I can make some different style videos just for that.
Some longer step by step videos would be awesome! I’m just getting into leather working as a hobby so the more tutorial videos you make, the more you can help others like myself learn. I appreciate the videos, keep up the good work!
Fantastic loved it what is your etsy shop's name? I am a beginner and would love to see the patterns . You do amazing work thank you for making this video
I don't usually. Most of the time I use 2 pieces of leather stitched together. It helps keep it sealed and adds a significant amount of strength. This particular collar I didn't do that. It really depends on what the customer wants.
Wow. Great work. I started doing leather craft recently because of COVID. And I also have a dog that I wanted to make a collar for. Do you have a source to by the buckles for the dog collars? I would like to make more than one?
I usually by my buckles from country brook designs. They are a little more expensive but they are high quality buckles. You can also find a good deal on ebay from time to time.
For the tooling mostly tandy pro bevelers. The strap cutting I use a standard strap cutter from tandy as well. To cut the collar from the hide itself I use just a regular x-acto knife with a Z blade.
I've been doing leather work for a few years now. It is pretty relaxing but can also make you want to pull your hair out when you make a mistake or something doesn't work out. I love it though. It's very rewarding.

Hi Love your work what kind of leather do you use
Love the collar, is that the type of paint you have to apply heat through a towel with a iron ? ....and also your outro is Ozzy s intro...
Hi, thx a lot for the video, awesome. What kind of leather did you use to make the collar?
This is Amazing!!

I want to make a collar and am wondering if you need to use any sealants or stains on the inside of it
