Ok, let's be honest right here. We like the Grand Tour because of the three wizards, but I don't think we should just destroy Top Gear because of that. Having a look at this from a neutral point of view it's actually quite good. The camera work and editing is sublime and Matt's doing a great job presenting. Can't we just be happy there's two amazing car shows now!?
Casper the new top gear format was with jeremy, james and richard. New they are gone it's just plain wrong. They should have named it different, make a new show. Now it's just trying to copy the old glory
Not sure why so many complaining. I really enjoyed this video, especially the racing comparison with the Gt3 RS . I thought they did a good job of showing the differences and why so many people would love this car over the shear speed and focus of the RS. Porsche's are awesome!

When they were about to drag race, I had a sense of deja-vu from Motor Trend's Head2Head episodes with unspoken 'meh' in my head. Then, Matt surprised me. And he nailed the sentiment of all driving enthusiasts out there. Well done, Mr. LeBlanc.
You're right tho. I absolutely adore his style of reviewing this car. I believe Matt do has that charming auro to cars rather than criticising and making jokes about some stuffs like those 3 guys. I do love the original trio. And its their style. Matt's film is something uniquely interesting.
palonazo Exactly.. a car show is a car show. I like the outcome of the trio being discontinued with the BBC, as now I get to see Chris Harris in a high production value show as well as the trio having (hopefully) even more banter and maybe less censored due to not being raped by the BBC.
The 911 R is a work of art, something that might never be repeated, but something that completely won my heart over ❤️ A reminder that cars are not about numbers but about the experience, exactly why people like the MX-5 and the 86! 🙌🏻 Also, Matt LeBlanc and Rory Reid were my favorite new Top Gear presenters :( (But thank fully I can still watch Rory on AutoTarader UK 😅)

I like this guy finally a reviewer that doesn't just talk about the horsepower and lap times. This is what having a supercar is all about. Who Cares how fast it is? as long as puts a smile on your face and exciting to drive then it's has done it's job

it's 2023 and I envision, that in 20 years from now, the then-car-enthusiasts will look back at the times of the petrol engine, which have long been gone by then and say: "Yes. The 911R was the pinnacle of the old style do-the-driving-yourself sports car. With a true testimoney of what level of refinement internal combustion engines have reached close to the time of their ultimate demise.". If it was me to decide, the 911R is the best sportscar ever made. Period.
I was going to buy a 911, until I drove the 718s for less than half the price, and I love it, it’s got all the creature comfort it’s not as fast (but still very fast), and the interior is very close to the 911, and it drives and sounds just wow.
Agree, I had a deposit on a 911 and decided to take the Boxster out for drive. I bought the Boxster, it just handles better. Did a Porsche track day, using their cars, these wasn’t a 911 that passed me.

Good thinking, looking for it in a positive way instead of just cry for a trio that are with another company doing another great show and the new trio are doing it wright at their own way. This were just the first season, so the producers had to do some ajustments, not very different from what they had to do back in 2002 and 2003...

Matt LeBlanc is the only good thing on Top Gear. Guy is the only one I find honest as a car guy on the show, has a passion, and is a great speaker. Good job Matt, really good job, would love to talk in person about cars one day. Ideally, The Boys on The Grand Tour has a home for him on that show when Top Gear inevitably dies.

WTH whats up with all the dislikes!? This was a great review informative, inviting, and filled with opinions and FACTS. Sure watching Jeremey Clarkson yell "POWAAAAA" and probably calling it a beetle would be entertaining, but i sometimes really dont understand all the British puns, and British inside jokes where you need to live in the UK to understand that Clarkson spews out every minute. This was great, and BTW Matt your a beast of a driver! The double heel and toe at 2:45 really showed me the driving ergonomics of the 911R. Anyhow I liked it, stop hating.
I'll tell you why matt leblanc has been the best presenter since the trio left. Cause he got the gist of a good car review. He didn't just review it, he didn't just deploy some specs and a rating. He described the feeling of it, he made analogies, he had tasteful commentary for it all. He knew how to get you interested in him talking about the car, even if you weren't into cars. Even Chris Evans doesn't seem to be able to get that in his head, same as the other presenters. And that's why this top gear feels like late 90s top gear.
This wasn't bad...Matt should continue to do videos like this, this is definitely his formula. Matt do more of these types of videos, this was really good content. Chris has always had his formula and it works perfectly for him and it's simply amazing to watch him do what he does. Chris your formula isn't broken, it glorious. Rory, the video with the Mustang was perfect! until you started talking, and please don't take it the wrong way but look back at that film and imagine open road driving with nothing but the engine note and tires. It was to segway into the new Mustang which is cool, I get that, but working the old and new could be your thing. The old, don't say anything, let the car do the talking and the new, obviously tell us about the car, the new this and that.
I was upset as everyone else when BBC fired Jeremy, and I'll admit, Chris Evans did not fit the huge hole that was left by Clarkson, Captain slow and hamster, but at the end of the day, aren't we the real winners? Top gear is coming back with Matt and in my opinion, this was a fantastic car review, and tomorrow we get the Grand Tour. So maybe, just maybe, BBC firing Clarkson was the best thing...
Matt Leblanc should have his own show without anybody who has anything to do with Top Gear, like his own of version Jay Leno's Garage. No horrible scripted lines or acting, just talking about cars and driving them! Having said that, I would 1 million times rather see Tim Allen do that, he has a garage almost as impressive Leno's minus the modern cars.
Thank you guys for getting Top Gear back in order, the new trio works beautifully - just continue and everyone should be happy! Don't hate one or the other, just enjoy that we now have two great car shows to watch

BBC should have changed the name of the show, and changed the format that the 3 wise men created. Now it just feels like a bad copy. I'm sure Matt would create a great new format if allowed.

Matt LeBlanc is the only good thing on Top Gear. Guy is the only one I find honest as a car guy on the show, has a passion, and is a great speaker. Good job Matt, really good job, would love to talk in person about cars one day. Ideally, The Boys on The Grand Tour has a home for him on that show when Top Gear inevitably dies.

Okay, I have not watched any of the new Top Gear episodes with the new crew, BUT Matt makes it REALLY funny AND good! He talks similar to what I might say. I LOVE his sound byte "drive this thing hard & you're going to jail"! 😆 Forget the other 2 blokes. Thank You Matt for a BRILLIANT introduction to Porsche's 911 R!
When Porsche puts a Manual in the GT3 I'd be Happy and wanting then... And a lot of others like Me.
That's basically what the R is, just without the fin.
More than that. The R is a half baked GT3 and FTD... With the Manual & 3 Peddles.

I'm aware of that... I'll take the GT3 when it has the Manual option and loose weight of the automatic. I like rowing my Own
QuietStormX I think the best option now until that happens is to buy a used (pre-turbo) manual GTS. Save a boatload of cash too.

WTH whats up with all the dislikes!? This was a great review informative, inviting, and filled with opinions and FACTS. Sure watching Jeremey Clarkson yell "POWAAAAA" and probably calling it a beetle would be entertaining, but i sometimes really dont understand all the British puns, and British inside jokes where you need to live in the UK to understand that Clarkson spews out every minute. This was great, and BTW Matt your a beast of a driver! The double heel and toe at 2:45 really showed me the driving ergonomics of the 911R. Anyhow I liked it, stop hating.

I'll tell you why matt leblanc has been the best presenter since the trio left.
Cause he got the gist of a good car review. He didn't just review it, he didn't just deploy some specs and a rating. He described the feeling of it, he made analogies, he had tasteful commentary for it all. He knew how to get you interested in him talking about the car, even if you weren't into cars.
Even Chris Evans doesn't seem to be able to get that in his head, same as the other presenters. And that's why this top gear feels like late 90s top gear.

Rory, the video with the Mustang was perfect! until you started talking, and please don't take it the wrong way but look back at that film and imagine open road driving with nothing but the engine note and tires. It was to segway into the new Mustang which is cool, I get that, but working the old and new could be your thing. The old, don't say anything, let the car do the talking and the new, obviously tell us about the car, the new this and that.
I was upset as everyone else when BBC fired Jeremy, and I'll admit, Chris Evans did not fit the huge hole that was left by Clarkson, Captain slow and hamster, but at the end of the day, aren't we the real winners? Top gear is coming back with Matt and in my opinion, this was a fantastic car review, and tomorrow we get the Grand Tour. So maybe, just maybe, BBC firing Clarkson was the best thing...

Matt Leblanc should have his own show without anybody who has anything to do with Top Gear, like his own of version Jay Leno's Garage. No horrible scripted lines or acting, just talking about cars and driving them! Having said that, I would 1 million times rather see Tim Allen do that, he has a garage almost as impressive Leno's minus the modern cars.
