Made me laugh your dad saying the black thing in the middle was your heater .as a kid I sat on there for many a mile when I went with my dad and his mate brought back great memories Gemma thanks
The first couple of retro truck shows were good. Now it's just a majority modern custom Scania meet with a few oldies in the middle. I'm with ya Dad. On the spanners when the old stuff was the new stuff 😬😂😂
The last few months I have been following your videos and really like them. You are very pleasant to listen to and you are a very good driver. I really enjoy the truck videos.
Was für tolle Fahrzeuge.....!!!!!!!!! Moin Leider gibt's bei uns so etwas nur als Museum, das ist in Einbeck der PS-Speicher, dort sind ne Menge alter und historischer LKW zusammen getragen. Allerdings halt nichts, was man fahren sieht.... Freut mich sehr, das wir dabei sein durften!!!!!! Gruß aus dem Weserbergland Matthias
The different makes of trucks had distinctive looks up until the 90s. Nowadays cars, trucks and vans look very similar. More aerodynamic so good for the planet, but converging on an average look. I definitely remember AEC tippers in Birmingham in the 70's and Ford trucks working round London in the 90s
The circle of people that put time, effort, charisma, production into their videos. The "content" from an everyday profession, connecting together, is an absolute amazing gift you all bring to an every day people. Watching channels where you meet other tubers is an awesome connection to watch, and be a part of. An absolute thank you from NZ. Really enjoyed the truck show.
Was a little bit concerned this morning........ARRRGH! No Jemma, Now I can relax and watch the vlog. Absolutely great vlog with awesome trucks. The Ford Cargo reminded me of a company I used to work for and they had one, nearly every time someone used it broke down, so it was nicknamed 'Ford Cant'go'. Thanks for sharing Jemz ❤
@@Zsolti0NYM Thank you my friend. Being a retired HGV driver and having spent my childhood holidays around Devon, Somerset and Cornwall, it was great when I found Jemma's channel as I know most of the places she delivers to and collects from.
@@martinbootneck This is really great you know the area well where Jemma usually works. I'm Hungarian and I've been in the UK only once (London). So everything I see in her videos is new to me. The countryside is pretty nice in that region, especially the tiny villages. I love the narrow lanes she regularly travels on.
Hi Jemma greetings from Central Florida. The RETRO show is on my bucket list. Some cracking wagons there including Paul O’Callahans Euro Cab Merc . That was previously Andrew Coopers from South Wales. Andrew and the rest of Steel Boys I believe started the show many years ago. Great videos 👍🏴🇺🇸
Good video good show retired truck driver and owner from the USA. Fascinating seeing trucks with the steering wheel on the wrong side 😁😆. You do a good job driving with a dump trailer. Thank you for your videos
My Grandfather brought and drove one of the first Freightliners transported too Holland back when. I have pictures and really proud of my Gramps. He drove for Nedloyd.
Hi Jemma best wishes hope you and those dearest to you had a great day at the truck show a beautiful history of all types of rigs wonderful photos 👍👍❤️
Hi Gemma, Nic to see the beautiful old trucks . Back in the early 60s my mates Dad had the old TK Bedfords articulated carrying bricks. I went with him on the weekends up to Bedford brick fields get there 5 am and if we loaded the bricks on ourselves we got 20 pounds cash then off to deliver them all over the uk fields transport it was called. Wonderful days. Any how thanks again Gemma for bringing back the memories Jon 🇦🇺👋🏻👋🏻
Hi Jemma love 😘 it's mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍 really enjoyed watching your RUclips video on retro truck show and you bumped into nipper before he had to go. I've subscribed to trucker Tim and Shaun and nipper and you Jemma because i just love trucks myself and the microphone you were using was ok with the sound but at least your doing RUclips videos of trucks. Keep up the great work and hope to hear from you soon thanks from mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍
That's what I call a truck show. Fond memories of when my dad was alive and worked for Lameys and Evans Transport Bideford. Love the old classics. Brilliant video, Jem. With the rode mics, they don't work too well, I they are not on your neck line. You can buy or make Rode necklaces or traditional handheld microphone mount
That 'Hell-Rider' ?? ..... You Truckers are a breed of your own ..... Absolutely Amazing ..... Talk about Pride In The Job ?? .... Great video - Despite the dodgey audio 🙂
Hello Jemma, good to see you again and in a dress too!.very nice. ! A great collection of UK trucks but mostly Scandinavian I did spot an old Bedford and a few ERFs but not a single Leyland ,Scamell ,Atkinson or AECwhich is what I remember. Although I retired sometime ago I still keep an interest in what is happening the Canadian trucking industry. The most popular bralnds here are Peterbilt Kenworth and White. Most are still Cummins and ; Cat powered and also Detroits .Canvas sided trailers are a rarity, .most are van types.Doubles are permitted on a lot of Expressways with 2 53 foot vans connected with a second with wheel .Here there are a lot of roadside weigh bridges to check on axle weights and they are very strict. We have some very long runs particularly hauling produce and temp controlled loads from Mexico ,California and Florida to the east coast. We do have some female drivers and also some husband and wife teams particularly on the long distance hauls. There are also some rail services hauling trailers on long hauls to and from dedicated terminals. There is quite a shortage of drivers as it is very expensive for an owner operator to get into the business ,back in my day about 3o% of units were owner operators with long term contracts with a company and painted in their livery.. BTW I see your favourite Scania has been bought out by Volkswagen so maybe your next truck will be an electric Beetle*LOL*. Great post Jemma love you channel. Happy safe trucking, you are a credit to the industry and a STAR in my eyes Cheers from me in Canada.
Fair does Jemma what a lass 33-34 years old and amazing and I like the trucks in this video especially the one that's been converted for a bloke after his accident wiked Ur dad sounds like he was a trucker and knows alot about then still amazing x
Lovely to see and a wonderful opportunity to naturally tap into your father's knowledge & experiences - I'd like to hear more from him if he's ok with it. ♥ the Ken Thomas livery & trucks
Great video Jemma and yes, if your dad is happy to wear a mic I'm sure he'd be an interesting person to listen to. My late father drove HGVs for 33 years and I've now done 37 in the PSV industry, although mostly in supervisory/admin roles. I love these sorts of shows as they bring back lots of memories - as did the shot of the F86 at 15:21. That is what my dad drove for many years.
Another amazing video, really love the vintage trucks although I have to say my favourite was the Scania 143/450, Hell Rider. Nice to see your mum, I can see where you get your looks from. 😁😁. Keep up the good work, stay safe.
Hi Jemma. Great to that AEC ergo. My dad had a brand new one in 67 I can still remember that smell of a new interior. It was a artic bulk trailer like yours and could carry 32 cu yards. Being a kid then, my dad let me operate the pneumatic tale board which must have been high tech for the time. Really enjoy your busy channel.
Hi Jemma thanks for this video bough some great memories back for me as my dad was an owner driver of an F88 in the late 70s early 80s As he passed away many years ago it’s not very often u see his old truck keep doing what ur doing be safe on the road x🤗
A great video, I think it’s really nice that you promote other RUclipsrs such as Paul O’Callaghan and Tim. Keep the videos coming and the good work pls Jemma 👍🏻
McGovern has quite a fleet of older vehicles. He comes to tractor shows with a trailer full of immaculate Massy Ferguson tractors which are loaded sideways on the trailer! I believe he is in the scrap metal business.
Hey Jemma, I saw that Scania 143 of Templeton & Daughter on the M8 in Glasgow around a month ago, absolutely awesome paint job, nearly stacked my car looking at it Lol! Great video, some beautiful trucks for sure 👍🏻😎
You say about listening to the trucks. I always remember the sound and the smells of Bath carnival don’t remember what the floats just the lorries oh and the bag of 2p our mother gave us and my fingers smelled of copper
No question this was a fantastic show with an excellent turnout. It's obvious Scanias and Volvos were/are very popular in the UK. We see a lot of classic cabovers from both brands and a few conventional rigs too. What I like the most in British trucks is that they are always very colorful and full of signs and graphics. I'm sure there are plain white trucks around, but the majority really stands out from the crowd. It's good to see you had an awesome time with your family and you really enjoyed the sights and sounds. Terrific update again Jemma, thank you for the usual Saturday fun. 😄🥰
Wow, this was a Brilliant video and to be honest it brought back so many memories for me when i was a kid in the late seventies. My best friend ani i used to do truck spotting and i think he was more truck mad than me but we had such a good time watching the old Fodens, AEC, Volvo F88 and F89's and also the Seddan Atkinsons. Its amazing to see so many retro trucks still in great shape. Every time i come back to England i am amazed at how many trucks are on the roads. Well thanks againg Jemma, looking forward to seeing your next video 🤗.
Hello Jemma love your videos I myself use to be a trucker many moons ago, however am now living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 hello from the Philippines keep posting video brings so many memories back 👍👍👍👍
Awesome video and it brought back so many memories of when I were a nipper in the 80's and my dad was running a truck stop in Devon on the A38 called Maidendown Stage. He also ran the South West Truckers club and I got to go to all the truck shows back then when a lot of what you saw here were not so classic or retro lol🫣. Thankyou for your great videos and for reminding me of my childhood.
That Irish lad u were talking to is from county Offaly. See the OY on the reg

Love your passion for the older trucks. After watching Nipper's channel, I understand all the work required to get the old trucks looking tip-top
I've never thought twice about trucks until I watched your vid's. I must say, I'm starting to picture myself driving a HGV now 🤔
Thanks for the link and to Paul for the mention! Always up for meeting up!

Great walk round Jemma 👍nice to see the old rigs and as you said, the best time to hear them is when they leave 😍
