- Another day in the life of myself as a grain transport HGV driver. Every day is different and this day was no exception. I have unexpected problems that you might laugh at but it wasn't fun for me at the time.

Thank you for your videos. I am approaching 60 years of age and have decided to change direction in my career. I have just passed my LGV2 on the 26th of Feb 2024, and will be training for my LGV1; with my test on the 4th of March 2024. Your videos have allowed me to realise the options there are in the transport industry, I shan't bore you with the details, but your videos have helped me to see what i would like to do with my new career choice and the flexibility that there is. A bottle of water and rinse it off. My trailer is a custom build 15.5 mtr closed box trailer. The front 6 mtr is a full off grid liveaboard apartment. With hot and cold running water, shower, toilet ++ all you have in a house.
If someone wants to aspire to be a lorry driver and learn on the road etiquette this would be the channel to watch. Well filmed, well edited, and crafted content showing the daily events in a balanced entertaining manner. Very addictive to watch.
I've just bought a Scania Limited Edition S 620 V8. It's a used struck but fully serviced with Scania, and Scania has given it a clear bill of health. It's a unique truck for South Africa. It was originally a special order. It's all black, special paint job. With fridge and microwave. Just perfect for longhaul across South Africa, I watch your videos all the time,

Hi Jemma, really enjoy your videos. Like the way you are very down to earth and a role model for any young girls wanting to drive a truck for a living. I am surprised how much you need to know as regards regulations and the physical side of loading and tipping. A lot of your loads seem to be very dusty and I would advise wearing a dust mask every time you tip. Still what do I know!!
Dust mask.is a must IMO.

Yes .. I been trucking for 45 years and it happens to me a lot . . I sometimes leave a note on my steering wheel. To remember where I am..... Lol

I always tip PKs, soya and distillers through the tailboard. A woolly hat is handy for keeping the dust off the head. Also it's handy to have a mechanics overalls in the truck when you have to sweep out after a dusty load. I've been driving trucks just over 40 years and it's nice to see a young driver like you being tidy and doing the job right
yes some loads Ive had to tip through the tailboard but luckily not to much with this one. thank you for your lovely comment

Hi Jemma, Another really entertaining video, beautifully edited I must say. Before watching your videos I never really considered how much parking in tight corners is involved. I think I always assumed there would be lots of room for loading and unloading wherever you go. Another thing I appreciate is how prepared you have to be for all eventualities, including being pooed on by a bird!
yes I think a lot of places were built for for smaller operations and over time they have grown giving us less space. and yes I try to always be prepared for everything :)

Well done Jemma. Getting bird poo is supposed to be good luck but you could probably do without it. You do the right thing getting a shower when ones available that's what I used to do when I was tramping. Think I've possibly been to that farm but that may have been before you where born it's scary thanks again.
Being in my mid 70s now and watching your blogs they are making me miss my old lorry and want to get back but I let my class 1 run out. Oh well I’ll have to be content reversing my dinky toys 😂😂😂😂.

Another good one Jemma. You make me laugh with your expressions and accompanying faces. You are fortunate having the parking on Industrial Estates in your area of operations. My experience in the south east is that there are overnight parking bans on most roads for trucks and buses (inc coaches). This makes life difficult for the drivers.
yes I think its disgraceful that drivers are stopped for parking in industrial estates

This was an eventful day with a bunch of interesting locations. Yes birds can be annoying when they poo everywhere, fortunately you could shower shortly after the accident. It's obvious you're an expert in reversing, because your coffee only moved a little bit but didn't spill out. It's funny there are tiny roundabouts in certain yards. Do you spend the whole week on the road (Monday to Friday)? The spring weather looks really nice, I'm sure it's much better driving in dry and sunny conditions. Awesome vlog as always Jemma, big thanks for the usual Saturday entertainment. 🥰💯
