But the precision it affords! I think it's what you're used to. I guess people prefer the game to look nicer, which it does isometric. Me, I just want efficiency.
This game should be a good fit for TTD folks, especially those who enjoyed getting industries built-up in that (maybe slightly less so for passenger-driven TTD'ers)
Ahh ROI... Such a lovely game. Shame the studio behind it eventually had to sell the IP, leaving it in a state of decay, and eventually had to shutter the studio altogether. A couple of fun features the game had at some point during development includes train collisions and signaling (feedback simplified it to what it is now sadly) and having construction vehicles drive out from town to build everything over time instead of immediately. I'll miss seeing those small, yellow diggers scoot around.
Those all sounds like great features! Shame they were scrapped. But I also appreciate the simplicity of the game, which makes it easy to pick up and play. (The trains are the least interesting part of the game for me though, meaning I guess some additional features there would have been welcome.)
Designated engagement comment: Its been years since I last touched this game, but is there a particular advantage of digging water and then using siphons, versus using the water wells without the terraforming?
Hi Leth, it's $16.25k (wells) vs. $12.5k (pumps) for maintenance. The upfront cost is slightly higher, but with my terraforming that's probably a wash. I'm interested in the monthly more anyway.
OMG! I had suggested you try Voxel Tycoon, but having watched this, you may NOT like it at all. It has numbers, BUT, not enough so that you can know exactly what you are doing. It's all 'by feel' almost. And then, you don't get full refunds on deconstruction, and you will make LOTS of mistakes and have to redo stuff, so I can imagine you raging! ;-) ~~~ Back to the game at hand... I've played this, and I never really thought much about placing my HQ--so what is your reasoning for placing it where you did???
Voxel Tycoon is still on my radar. I thought about it, but never committed. I don't think there's any benefit to HQ placement other than keeping it out of the way. Actually I don't think you even need it on a road (but not sure)
If you want more transport-focused titles, Transport Fever and openTTD (free game). Otherwise this is similar to the old Industry Giant 2. Wish I knew more games with the factory focus -- there's Factorio.

Math, logistics, optimization, PROFITS!? Looks like a tortuga game if i ever saw one.
Exactly!
I like 3/4 of those things, lol! Sounds like a game for most people, honestly.
This game is so much fun. New to you but you seem right to my alley if this is the kind of thing you're into.
Definitely -- I play games like this, Software Inc, Motorsport Manager... And some make it as series for the channel.
I bought this game a while ago and just never had time to start up on it. Looking forward to this to be my inspiration.
The ease of picking it up, also the ease of loading into a previous session/save, are big selling points about this game (for me at least). Good luck!
Nice pick Bud!! Super/Nin had something similar. This more depth. Go for it Tortuga!!
Thanks!
Nice, waiting for more
A little strange to watch with that top looking camera

Love to see it!
Looking forward to more. TY Tortuga!

Enjoyed the video and am looking forward to the series!
Thank you Mr. Moony
Welcome back, friend!
It looks like this is going to be a good series 👍
Hope so!
Hmm, haven't seen this game before. I play a lot of OpenTTD so maybe I'll play this game too.

I want to say water wells are slightly more expensive, but... your comment has me panicking a bit. Will verify.

Hey bro I really love this game what games would you recommend that are similar to this
