You're amazing Jonas! These devlogs are a wonderful look into indie dev, and a huge inspiration for people like me who love gaming and also dream of creating their own experiences. I'm trying to learn Unreal as a solo dev, and although It's always hard and often confusing, videos like yours drive my passion even further, and I'm very grateful for that. Huge W game and channel, I can't wait to see what new projects and ideas you come up with! Personally, I'd love to see you take a simple PvP multiplayer game and really dive into how you solved all the intricate networking / programming quirks of multiplayer. Anyway, much love, respect, and admiration - a happy fan and hopefully one day, peer :)
Jonas has the nicest way of editing his videos the perfect balance between life, humor and game development is perfect the only thing I wish for is that the moments of life to breathe a bit more. But I get that's not for everyone.
I really admire how honest this devlog is, and its really nice to see how healthy your approach towards your work and hobbies is. I hope you enjoy your break, and congratulations on everything. You're a huge insipiration for a lot of people
Ever since I started watching your channel you have been my role model, a guy from Europe just like me who doesn't know a lot about all the business side of game dev and just wants to make games every day because he loves it
Congrats on 1.0! It's been an absolute blast following along with this adventure. You guys can be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. Enjoy a well-deserved break, I'm excited to see what will come next!
I just wanted to come in here and congratulate you on the completion of Thronefall! Thank you for the motivation you bring. You were part of what inspired me to start game development, and now my first Steam game is releasing in 2 months!
Yay I love these! And I loved the recent stream. Thank you for being an inspiration! Mark my words I will make a hit game using the strategies you outline in your videos. Cheers!
SO PROUD FOR YOU! I just want you to know that you've got me into game dev and now I have a community of over 1000 people supporting my journey. Thank you so much, can't wait for the next adventure :)
i love how there is a lot of the style of the older videos in this one. makes it actualy nostalgic in a way. also remindet me how i first came across Jonas old german channel and then also wanted to start making games
What a beautiful send off to a wonderful devlog and game. I'm beyond stoked for you after watching your work for years and years now. May your next adventure bring you all the good fortune you could hope for, thanks for the journey, Jonas!
Hi Jonas, I just want to say that I've really enjoyed following this development, and it has inspired me to take on this journey for myself (with zero exp). I purchased the game a while back and will have to now pick it up and play it! I'm sure it will be a blast; I look forward to your future developments.
Didn't know you made thronefall.. great effort, very nice game, congratz... !!!A collosal success for an indie!!!! I bought that game few months ago for the reference and the feel :) and I liked it... Fellow dev here, congrats once again.
Very random, but thanks a ton for sharing your YT stats. It made me feel a lot better about my channel, which I've neglected over the past months. "SO let's just not do that" regarding fulltime YT is also a great statement. I decided to look at it like that as well. Good luck with the rest of the year and enjoy your break
10:05 What a great thing to do right after releasing a game! Surely no critical bugs and other issues will be found in the next year and, of course, you won't be bullied into making another level editor.
Remember when you had a couple hundred subs and made game with Blackthornprod for the 2019 GMTK game jam? Now you have 2 hit games and 2 with a strong community. It's insane.
As dev and MMA coach i always tell other devs to start Grappling arts. It has so many in common with developing. And compared to striking arts its really something you need your brain for too 😁
@@JonasTyroller that's a real problem to me. Both are main parts of my life and constantly fighting each other for my spare time 😁 Wait for the time after your first competition, when you start analyzing your fights and research millions of techniques on RUclips 😉
I would not underestimate the role of youtube for your game's success. So just those numbers from youtube alone are not the whole picture of what you get out from it monetarily.
0:38 How do you sti like this? Simply a difference in skill? 3:21 I think i watced too much of RealCivilEngineer brcause i see a _"very specific thing"_ in this 😉 4:55 still kilometers better than Doom's minimap 6:40 chokepoints my beloved. 😍 9:30 Do i see Dave Plummer on the phone? Noice. Also do you watch prime (the guy right next to dave)? 10:49, 10:51 feet reveal? 17:20 was this recorded in August? most of it was bascially like someone threw you into an oven 18:50 Paul face reveal (finally)?
I was really enjoying playing this game! The strategy felt really laid back and fun but also made me think at the same time. I thought I would play it for a small amount of time and not touch it much more, but I kept finding myself opening the game for more, completing all the quests, and trying to get the highest score I possibly could. The game is awesome and I wish you and Paul the best of luck with the release! Big congratulations! Thank you so much for making such a blast of a game!
I just want to point out, re: your RUclips earnings, that when you are talking about 'taking sponsorships' you are in fact already sponsoring yourself and pulling in a non-negligible amount of money toward your steam games with your videos.
Jonas, I am confused, when you talk about your RUclips income. I thought, that you are financially free be now. So all you are now doing is just for fun and it's just "die Kirsche auf der torte". Am I wrong here. Did I miss something? Should you guys not be millionaires by now?
Thanks for all the support y'all! It was a pleasure.

It really has been. See you out there.
Take as much time as you need; you deserve the break. Well done--with everything.

Congrats bro. You are a huge inspiration!

You might be interested in Thinmatrix. His videos have the absolute chillest vibes of him cooking, watering plants, going for walks with his dog, etc
Yeah, I think you are right. It takes a lot of courage to let something breathe cause if it's poorly executed half of your audience is gone. Haha. :D

Congrats, Jonas. Your perseverance inspires everyone to finish their own passion projects.

"Final" This is so saaad. I've been rewatching these every now and then. Love the Thronefall devlog so much. :D
Going from the early prototyping videos, and ending up here has been quite the journey. Thank you!
Thanks for following along. :)
I hope this game brings joy to everyone the way it did for me
Let's hope so. Thank you, thank you! :)

Enjoy your time off and we'll all look forward to your next endevour.
Thank you!
Congrats! Thanks for making these videos. I enjoy hearing your perspective.
That comparison from the prototype to the end is amazing :D

Ah, that's wonderful. Hope you enjoy (both the game and your game dev journey)! :)
Seeing the different sides from life, gamedev, and RUclips is really cool. Treating YT as a hobby is also something I should adopt. 😅
Thronefall is great, huge congrats to you guys. Enjoy your break & the fruits of your labors.
The walk through your daily life was so fun! Super relatable.
See you for the next adventure.
We'll be here whenever you're ready.
Till next time--it's been a pleasure. 🥂
Thanks Jonas for sharing your journey! This was a great video for the game's release. You're a real inspiration. Enjoy your well-deserved break. :D
The simulated video click through got me lol. Great work on Thronefall! I'm excited to see what you make next!
Haha, thank you!
Congratulations Jonas! It was a joy to follow your development journey from start to finish.

I can't believe its been 3 years already. it feels like the devlogs started just yesterday
Time flies (but also the devlog series started a fair amount later than the development).
0:38 I too sit at my desk like that... RIP our backs

Yeah, don't pinch me. I'm afraid I might wake up.
Small team of TWO!
One of my favourite games to play on Steam Deck
It's a great game for handheld (except for the very zoomed out camera maybe, but I added a zoom hotkey haha).
genuinely had fun with the game
That's wonderful to hear.
never been so early,,,, nice 7 seconds of video so far

the stuff of legends.

Yeah, that is totally fair, especially for Will You Snail, which I'm not sure would have made it on its own.
i came for thronefall, stayed for guinea pigs

3 YEARS????
Yeah that doesn't seem right? Thought they only started early last year
Since the very beginning of this project, almost, yes. Time flies.
@@JonasTyroller i realise that now, my god
Time really flies, doesn't it?
It feels like only yesterday that Jonas released Will You Snail and said they would be starting a new project.
notification squad!
wait how has it been 3 years?
Please don't go. 😂. Nah. Congratulations.

Yeah, that is of course correct. Especially for Will You Snail. Thronefall is standing more on its own feet now.

The games have done pretty well which is indeed one more reason to shift the focus more towards the endeavours we find enjoyable, yes.
