- Hey everyone!
Today's tutorial is all about how to colour correct skintones in Lightroom. I've had quite a few requests for portrait retouching/editing tutorials for lightroom recently, so I thought I'd finally get around to doing one!
(Sorry about the audio, once again!)
Hope you all enjoy! :)

Love your tutorials! I really appreciate all the effort, especially on vacation!
great video as usual! can't wait to see the video for darker skin tones!
Everyone's becoming an artist during quarantine. I enjoy digital art
Yes indeed
SO TRUE ..about the orange!!!
my left ear enjoyed that XD
Useful tips, thank you!
Great info,,,and like so like many other viewers, I'm also looking forward to a video on darker skin tones! THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Hi June, I admire your style and skill, I don't know if you've done a video about adjusting dark skin tones, I'd like to see that too
I have been looking for this thanks
No worries! 🙂
Please do a tutorial for darker skintones!
Will do! 😊
Great tutorial as always. Looking forward to the tutorial on darker skin tones.
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for the tutorial,am sorted on how to edit skin tones. I don't see the coloring profiles in my light room though, what could be the reason ?
Great tut! If you have more than one person and want to adjust the skin colour of one or more in the group how would you do it?
Great tutorial. Why not use a color correction tool such as a color chart (color checker passport from X-rite or spyder checker from Datacolor)? It will provide you with a basic color profile and then adjust the color from there to your liking. Btw thanks for your sharing.
Hi Kay, I love your channel, i learn a lot. i have off topic question... please give me some advice... when i edit my photos in lightroom ( usualy i am correcting Contrast brightness and shadow) its seems ok in my computer... but when i transfer to photos other computer to send customer its seems different color and i checked with my celullars (2 different ) İ phone X and Asus zenfone 5 also look diffent color. which one i will trust (consider) ??? please give some advise.. thank you in advance....
🔥🔥🔥
I thought the warmer side was the fixed one.😂
The issue with this is that it changes everything in the background as well. So the backdrop that you used is losing its saturation, hue, etc as you change her skin tone because it's similar in hue to her skin.
I believe you can use the brush tool to select what you want to edit in lightroom so you can leave the background the same.
Hi Kayleigh! When you did your color like this in lightroom and whant to continue the edit in Photoshop, what is the workflow? Is it going in the top menu : "Photo --> Edit in Photoshop" When I do this it seems like i'm losing the RAW quality when in Photoshop.
Right click on the thumbnail in Lightroom and choose Open in Photoshop as a Smart Object. You’ll be able to continue editing the raw file in PS if you double click the smart object. However you’ll have to flatten it to do retouching or other destructive edits.
Hello from the Philippines with 💓
Random question: wouldn't you want to start as a baseline with the profile that was originally used to capture the RAW data? i.e. in my case, I always shoot with Neutral to capture the most detail in the shadows. I've noticed that Adobe Color tends to mess around with colors in various unpredictable ways, including clipping. Thanks for the video.
As I understand it if you shoot raw you dont really shoot in any colour profile or colour space. Camera will save your chosen or auto white balance information among other text data and thats about it. Then depending on whitch software you use they have different colour profiles to interpret the raw files and then output to selected colour space. Colour space like sRGB or Adobe RGB etc. RAW dosnt have colour space. "Neutral" and other settings are only for JPGs (developing Raws straight in the camera). RAW is raw... data collected depending on iso, shutter speed and aperture in resolution and number of bits depending on your camera. Nothing more. If you want to do any editing to your photos never shoot JPGs. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@norbert4787 Thank you for your response Norbert. I agree with your statement 100%. In the time elapsed since my comment, I've actually ditched Lightroom from my workflow, using the camera software to correct WB and exposure before Photoshop treatment. The Neutral profile from LR did not match the Neutral in-camera (washed out highlights and lifted blacks by default.)
👌👍👌❤️nice editing ❤️👍❤️
It is slightly 'echoey' but I don't mind given the amount of info you are giving us for free. Thanks for sharing.
hoped for some real secret. this is good for total beginners.
why are you not working in fullscreen in lightroom or at least hide the top and lower toolbar? With this you have so much more space for the image itself and the adjustments you make ...
But how?
I love your voice...
Step 1: Close Lr and open Capture One. 😂
Just kidding. Great vid as always👌🏾
Haha!! Maybe one day soon 😜
Am I the only one who hates it when people call it 'pink' instead of 'magenta'?
were you in the bathroom when recording this? that voice effect..
