Besides these lit demands I would like transport fever timeline to start from 1600 or 1700 where canal systems like Birmingham to London were prevalent. So we can play through a transition from late medieval canal system to early industrial coal driven steam engine boats and then railway. Yeah the start would be slow but it would be an holistic historical story telling game.
You mentioned AI competition. I think multiplayer like in Cities in Motion 2 would be fun aswell. Imagine that you can compete with other players or work together, negotiate to use other players their infrastructure for a fee, save the game and when both are online continue where you left off. I also like your idea of roads actually take time to build. I remember Transport Tycoon had this where it took months in game to build a railway. I makes sens and miss that feature in the current tycoon/simulation games
18:30 IIRC Train Fever had a similar system where if an industry was close enough to a customer (EG: town) it would slowly transport bits of that cargo to the destination without a route needing to be built. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
What about METRO SYSTEMS? Like the London Underground. Also I can't seem to get the Tropical map with temperate trees instead of coconut palms etc. The Tropical map is fantastic but I want it to look more like The UK. And it would be great if you could remove and put in both cities and businesses, in-game - without going to the creator! There's also civic centre buildings which aren't there in TF2. Like Town Hall, Library, Police, Fire, concert halls, etc. I also miss a sense of HISTORY as well (past 1900). Castles, hillforts, cathedrals, old ports etc. It would liven up the game so much!
I would like a much bigger map size. And villages, towns, normal cities and mega cities. You can select which one you want each settlement to be. Metro/underground that is easier to build. Narrowguage/tram tracks Multiplayer
i would love the game more if then can improve the train routing AI more, such as push-pull, diesel engines running around the express on an avalble track, background engines shunting trains that actually imcoorperates into the whole thing, engines accidents so the breakdown train could be used etc. whatever British Rail was doing
Day/ Night ,Slack action in trains , Much much much bigger maps , weather , better bridges , co-op multi player or vs , being able to pick which tracks get more maintenance then others mainlines > branchline and the tracks with less maintenance start to get rust and vegetation on them and the speed drops and ties rot , better radius range for stations so they have more reach , when a train is coming up to a signal it gives a clear way before the train gets there not right when the train hits the signal, disasters such as washouts ,floods, bridge failure , more houses and buildings out in the country
I like for reads they should be built lane by lane in the same way the railways are built. That would make the road tool far better than games like city skylines
I would like it if there were mautstations for roads to get money from the fees like in Cities Skylines, cogwheel railroads and Battery powered trains, where also a new mechanic could be introduced, that buses and trains can/must be refueled
There’s lots of things that should be added traffic management, Cable cars, trams on track and road, pull in bus stops, vehicle stay on the map and do not just disappear and appear, more in-depth industry, competing companies, research, starting date 1800 before steam, footpaths,Canal boats, new types of fuel like hydrogen and biofuel,3rd rail, vehicles should actually be require fuel and maintenance, restricted roads and also built in left hand traffic.
I agree with most of your ideas you mention in your video. The AI stuff though, not so much, but you could make that be a different mode of the game, so that if you don't want to play it, you don't have to. I would like to see the ability to change the station buildings. You place a station, then you have to try and guess how far to replace the station to fit the larger buildings or add them to the side of the station. It just doesn't look right. Also I would like to be able to flip the buildings. If you place a terminus station the track is on the right side of the platform. I would like to flip it to the left side of the platform.
We need deep water ships. Cargo ships right now are absolute jokes compared to trains. Once you've setup a high speed rail line, shipping becomes much slower and inefficient comparably. We need ships that can carry many thousands of goods at once like modern cargo ships
Push back the start date to like 1700, include canals, locks, canals in tunnels, cuttings, etc. Various canal boats, and coastal transport ships of the time. Hand carts, ox carts, etc. And have all this have variants that show the development of tech for all these. oh, and plateways etc, the predecessors of railways.
I have quite a few wants for transport fever 3, however most important for me is to include heavy upgrading for... Trains, ie metros, both underground and elevated stations, i want rack and pinion, narrow guage, broad gauge, gravity railways with lifts for tourism, tourism... as an industry as well. Also stations that do both freight and passengers so mixed trains are viable Trams, again I want standard and narrow guage, i want freight and mixed use trams, trams to be able to use train tracks, also rack and pinions and also a Funicular would be neat, ideally trams and trains could be interchangeable in use Ships, i want car and train ferries and have them be more viable than bridges early on, i want ocean liners with tenders bringing passengers to and fro, tugs with barges, coastal and river steamers, i want all of this that comes with side paddlewheels, rear paddlewheels (really only happened with some river boats), and propellers. I also deeply want museums to be a thing, that way you can still make money off of aged machinery, occasionally do events where you bring out old stock and use it, keep them maintained, maybe even turn old ships into hotels. I also want an earlier start date, 1850 is way too late, it should be 1830.
You're prediction of TF3 release in late 2024 feels too soon IMO. Late 2025 maybe? That said: I fully agree it is a reasonable time now to lay out a good explanation of what one would like to see in TF3 so that the developers have some time to get good input and see what the players say about eachother's ideas. And the way you approached the different aspects, explained them, that feels like just the sort of feedback a developer can actually use (i.e. not just going "make it way better or I won't buy it!)". Kudos.
I’ve done one called the Big Build on a Europe map ruclips.net/p/PLML6hSqjNxdkzz-vd4tLSoK6CZqm7uK6n&si=oQOjJon7OEhsLRb3. Might do one on a USA map at some point

More industries from the start without us needing mods.

One thing i would want is left hand traffic
personalizing your company, adding skins to vehicles having proper HQ and upgrading it
1000 BC start where people use hand carts for goods and piggy back rides to transport people.
Night and day cycle. Seasons. More vanilla vehicles. Bigger maps. A lots of optimization. These are the most important stuff for me.
What about METRO SYSTEMS? Like the London Underground. I would like to see more realistic type industry chains, I know it may take away from modders but in the long run it would be profitable.
I hope they improve on the train horn stuff too. Maybe a better version of the Doppler effect, as well as a way to make a proper crossing sequence.
I mostly miss a more dynamic demand system for the cities. When you have their needs filled there is nothing more to do with them.
i would love the game more if then can improve the train routing AI more, such as push-pull, diesel engines running around the express on an avalble track, background engines shunting trains that actually imcoorperates into the whole thing, engines accidents so the breakdown train could be used etc. whatever British Rail was doing
I would love to see a scheduling for trains instead of them just running in a permanent loop.

more industry
military industry, car/airplane/ship/rail industry (maybe able to assemble your own vehicles/equipment?) Lots of spectacular ideas

Yeah think AI would need to be in a different mode or have to ability to switch off.
Better road tools and better traffic AI would be the biggest improvement if you'd ask me.
Yeah I have major traffic jam even though I have a bus lane and train but it’s not working
yeah the megalomaniac map isn't big enough especially if you have High Speed Rail
We need a slope tool like City Skylines, this may be done by moders or as a update
This is a MUST, also running water like in City Skylines, then we could make water falls
I want to have dynamic weather and day-night changes. 👌
Would love those also👍

Canals! British style, small canals would be amazing in the early game!

You need to make sure you have good transport in and out for passengers and cargo.

Vehicle shouldn’t disappear and appear they should stay on the map like CS2.
if they would just add a system for city building like cities skylines , we have got the best city building / transport simulator !

Transport Fever 3 will be 2025.
I think it will be 2025 now as well

the cities in this game are a joke, same with the numbers, you have 1000 people in a city?! what does that even mean? 😂

@TechHench have you considered doing a series on TF2? on Europe map or Usa? thanks.
