Would be nice to allow the pedestrians to use the whole street and hop onto public transport. Currently so much space wasted for inefficient car traffic.

Fun fact, if you dont use any mods and dont edit thr game files in any way, you can still get huge cities.
You need to have sandbox mode active for this and also maybe the no money/unlimited money mode would help too.
Step 1: Place a "huge" city with the tool on a map.
Step 2: click on the city and in its menu click "custom cargo" (or something along the lines of that, i cant remember rn) then untick all the freight options, and in the 3 numbers on top put in 800 in each (wont go higher than 800).
Now just wait and watch the town grow :-)

Which mod do you use for the underground LRT stations shown around 5:29? The mod I currently use for underground stations is not very good because there is a huge gap between the train and the platform.

the game is clearly not meant for that.
The biggest city I've built in the game with 0% transit penalty or overcrowding penalty. Was 6,400 inhabitants, but it could have been a lot more, almost everyone used public transport and the bus/tram/elevated metro network had quite a bit more capacity.
The key is to do long-distance transport with public and private transport (all the time people spend traveling between cities is not spent within the city). And I would say that up to 15-20,000 inhabitants can make perfectly functional cities, without traffic problems.

well... Amount of lanes dosent fix traffic but i hooked 2 lanes to all in and outbound so it worked. The biggest reason i used it was to block ai construction in the middle.

Hi herr, Easiest way is to download population mod and then locate in steam mods folder.
But is the lag caused by the game engine or your pc?
I have some big cities but my pc doesn't care. Cpu, gpu and ram
Hey potato thanks for leaving a comment. The reason the cities in this video lag more than yours is because i am multiplying citizens. Your city will have around the default limit of 3000. In this video i have a city of 1,000,000 so its quite a lot more. Hope you enjoyed!

I recommend you get the town capacity x3 multiplier mod and then find the mod in files and edit that one. A lot easier. Have fun and thanks for watching!

True, by gradular expansion you encourage suburbia, i never gave this city the chance for that so all those people crammed into skyscrapers as they needed a quick solution. hope you enjoyed the video poklia!
