We really need a TM:PE mod for Transport Fever 2
I saw a roundabout and thought "Oh no! He's going all Biffa on us" :)
hahaha nah not quite, lane management is boss! cheers for the comment stephen
Lmfao! That is hallarious
Nothing wrong with that 😁👍
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines hi :)
we need the Traffic manager mod from cities skylines XD
True, but you can do lane manegment here its just different(and honestly not quite as good just yet) 😀 thanks for leaving a comment fabtendo
this is helpful, but seems like the devs need to tweak the traffic model. Why would cars not use all the lanes available to them? Kind of strange to have to do this counter-intuitive work around to get things moving.
glad it helped rasta. Thanks for commenting! Enjoy
It is a broken game and i regret buying it.
@@Andrei-qi4tmtoo bad for you
They do in my saves actually. Maybe this has been fixed in the meantime?
0:59 Southern California traffic engineering be like:
Well done Hushey, nice fix, going to use it on a new hard mode tonight. I like your station design as well, great work!
Thanks a lot boingze! Im super glad that you found it useful and wish you great traffic flow in your game! Cheers for leaving a fantastic comment.
Cool video. Especially the intersection is an interesting concept. I actually found a easier way to split the arrows on a roundabout some time ago, you see, for some reason when the roundabout itself is made out of intercity roads and you replace the entrances with city roads it also makes a dedicated turning lane. Now I don’t know if this still works with the latest update but it should be interesting to check out.
thanks for that information Joris, I didn't notice when I was playing around but i will be investigating. cheers for letting me know!
In a roundobout you don't need expand and reduce all the time to get the turn lanes. If you upgrade the road segments near to roundobout to street segment, the game generate the correct turn lanes. And in all the roundobout traffic is divided in this 2 lanes correcly.
no, it wont. I did a lot of testing.
Very late to this video, but found a potentially better way to achieve this without the (sorry) shoddy look of all those one way roads... Use a two lane one way WITH bus lanes. This forces the private traffic into the inner lane of the roundabout until they need to exit in which time they're forced to use the bus lane.
Just stumbled across it myself, worth looking into :)
Thanks, sounds intriguing
So, this is a great way of reducing traffic, but there are a few things that gets off my mindset:
1: MINIMUM 40 RADIUS ON ROUNDABOUTS
Answer: No, No and NO. Im am really disagreeing with that. Because, in my save, there is an incredibly busy roundabout that can keep up even with a radius of 25. The key is to use separate lanes to maximize trafic flow. BUT you can't merge any one way roads higher than one lane to a road because of a turnaround lane! So it's only okay if it's an highway that ends with another roundabout.
2: DON'T UPGRADE YOUR ROADS TO 3 LANES
Answer:I kinda agree with this, but there are 2 main exeptions to this:
1: A busy traffic light, if not turned into a roundabout, can have the roads intersecting upgraded for traffic reductions
2: An extremely busy highway can be upgraded to 3 lanes
That's it . Will you also cover highway interchanges? And also i am having touble with a monstuosity of an intersection. I will publish photos wenn needed.
Cheers
-Tamada357
hi Tamada, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Not quite though.
1) it MUST be this size. this is the smallest you can go. you must have at least 2 sections / road pieces to set lanes up correctly. with one it wont work. see the video
2) upgrading does nothing. the extra lane needs to do *something*. making something wider wont fix it you need to fix the core issues.
hope this helps you understand. feel free to rewatch the video if a part of it you dont quite understand and if it ends up helping you feel free to press subscribe :)
@@Hushey Hello Hushey,
1) well try to make a radius 30 roundabout, have two separate lanes that connect to the roundabout, and between those lanes you should be able to downgrade the roundabout lanes to 1 lane. The only limitation is the number of roads junctions that you can have. Otherwise, it will all work. And it respects Lane Mathematics without two sections so this should be great.
2) The extra lane could be used as a turning lane like left lane turns left only, straight goes straight, and right goes right.
And sometimes you have so much traffic these tips dosen't work... That's my case. Well, because of the traffic and all the highways/arterial roads connecting very closely, i think i will need to build a monster of an interchange... and i tried to do it for multiple times, but they all failed. Now i think im going to post a photo on your discord sometime soon of that interchange.
I hope you respond
-Tamada357
@@Tamada357 i'd like to see a screenshot of you doing this with less than 40 please. It's not possible from my experimenting so i'm interested.
these tips always work regardless of traffic, they will always ease the situation. to fix a city road artery structure that you're gonna have to wait till i release a video for :)
@@Hushey I will send you the photo on Discord
I was waiting for this video to just abruptly end after "now the solution is, BUILD TUNNELS EVERYWHERE!"
My favourite mod for this kind of roadwork challenge is 'Street fine tuning', but that may be it's own video.
hahaha not quite, true it does fix the problem but do we really want to waste all that money?
sure, i will check that one out.
cheers for the comment damien
Gonna be honest transport fever really needs to fix there traffic system
nah its alright
@@Hushey I just wish cars could pass each like irl
@@randominternet8198 they cant overtake but this game is decent for lane manegement. Get what youre saying though
I mean like, if you have a truck with a top speed of 50mph, on a road with a top speed of 60mph, then all the cars will be stuck behind it, now also going 50mph, which cause a huge traffic jam
I see ya pulling off lane mathematics in TpF2, I'm liking that very much
thanks greg!
You'd mentioned it in the end of the video... that you'd talk about designing city roads... however the video that popped up was for station designs. Searched through your videos but couldn't find it...
Yeah sorry ill try and put it out soon! 😀
I use the bigger lane so public transport and trucks can travel faster and eficient
ok, but dont you think this is a bodge job when you could make it smooth for all vehicles including private ? Thanks for leaving a comment jinn
Isn't it better to reduce traffic overall by providing passenger rail, buses, and trams? Usually after I've done that there aren't enough cars on the road to cause problems. If we want to deal with traffic issues like this, wouldn't we play Cities Skylines?
Sure! But this isnt what this video is about. By all means use public transport to fix private, but late game, it just wont be enough. Thats where this video comes in! Cheers for leaving your thoughts bbacher and i hope you found it somewhat useful anyway!
Yeah. I want the traffic to be bad then they use my trains :P
@@Benjamin.Jamin. nice idea but the traffic is calculated regardless of traffic, so terrible traffic or amazing dosent effect calcuations for public transport, definitely should build it tho! :)
It does inbetween cities though, the ai use the path of less resistance(doesnt matter the price) lol
We just need a TM:PE mod for TF2
those 4 way traffic makes all of my trams go bankrupt
So your traffic improves causing the trams to stagnate... Improve your trams!
Ooh i really like that 2nd one :D I been starting to use a huge combination of 2-to-3 lane, 3-to-2 or even 3 split to 3 single (1 of them mods) to force them to use different lanes. That roundabout with middle cross looks really interesting, since they all be forced a different lane depending on the direction they want to go. I had some pre-made mod-layouts for roundabouts, but they sadly never got updated to a more efficient ones.
Exactly! Great idea karre you got it! Cheers for watching and leaving a comment!
It's really a shame that the devs don't fix this problem in the vanilla game...I hate all this traffic. The only thing it does, is slowing the game. It would be a lot better if there is no traffic except like your own traffic, just as it was in Transport Tycoon and Locomotion.
I wonder if this could change with the improved traffic in the Autumn Update
i wonder! I will be investigating
nice a new upload this will trick will help massively along with improving my FPS Thank you!
cheers for watching and leaving a comment james have fun!
6 lane roads with custom traffic lights/6 lane road with protected left turn can solve the problem of 4 way intersection. Its the traffic light system that is bad along with AI car issue. I wish I know to mod but anyway if someone implemented this lmk. Nice Solution aswell Hushey
Thanks reaper
If I ever have enough traffic to cause a traffic jam I know what to do now lol 👍
haha nice james!
I usually set up so much public Transit that I don't have a traffic Problem,
Definitely solves half the issue, but what happens when your cities grow too big? This is what this video is for. Thanks for leaving a comment Zug!
@@Hushey I EXPAND the Transit when the city grows tonthe point where I have cities have have 5-15 Public Transit lines depending on era, the mods i'm using, and of course the size of the City (Plus when my transit get's stuck in traffic whic it never does I'd just add Bus lanes)
Seems like there are no priorities?
A roundabout where traffic inside waits for oncoming traffic will be clogged.
All traffic inside must be given priority for a roundabout to work.
this game dosent have that. The best possible is 50/50 which is this setup. The games default is 20/80 so this is way better
Cool trick, the traffic does look more fluid!
and it sure is!! thanks for the comment patrick and i hope this helps your save!
Is it just me or are the slip lanes in the intersection not working at all? The cars are still going to the main light to turn right, and the arrows on the slip lanes show two going left.
You get much better results with asymmetrical roads, if you have them available.
Yes love asymetrical roads and have since updated this method in newer videos. However this all still works for me so not sure where your issues are stemming from
But on the streets you did not consider bus lanes
The bus lane is always on the outside so isnt effected.
No Mate, i mean if you have a 3 lane road plus bus lane, is the same for traffic as a normal 2 lane road
Yeah?
Okay but ... why do you need a right hand turn at the center intersecrion when you have a slip road?
Because the AI sometimes gets confused. Youre right tho, it barely does anything so you are welcome to build without!
Please restart the brutal series it’s the best on transport fever and so interesting
Aw thank you mackenzie! I never stopped and im still trying its just hard to do that on top of the stuff i need to put out to keep the channel going without an editor. Thanks for the comment i really appreciate that.
i've got a suprise for you
These Videos are tutorial and comedy combined hahaha
Haha i try cheers opel!
great video man
Cheers skwiril! Glad you liked it and thanks for your comment!
Cool technique. Now we just need to find a way to make it look less awful!
Oi cheeky! 😂I think it looks good! you can always use build with collision remember i didnt use it in the video so it can have the tag of "no mods" but it will work pretty perfect aesthetical wise by playing around with it. cheers for the comment Paul!
@@Hushey Love that mod!
Is this roundabout still needed after the latest update?
For big cities yes
or just add a sh*t ton of extra streets and now youre in debt and 30 lanes not being used
Lol!
Thank you so much
no prob ronaldo happy to help! cheers for the comment!
THANK YOU
You are very welcome sergei! Subscribe for more
So you really just made a round about with roads crossing through it. Moral of the story....all intersections should be roundabouts.
No, no, dont do that! hahaha, moral of the story is lane management
He calls it a "fix".... the most idiotic looking roundabout with single lanes. 🤣
Lmao
I wanted to check the design roads video but it takes me to mega maps tip :)
Sorry not had chance to make that video yet unfortunately 😬
Just add 6 more lane
NOOO!!
Are there any mods that will let the AI use all lanes ?
no, sorry. This technique is easy once you start though! cheers for the comment Spooderman!
how the setting for nice graphic this game?
esc, options, video/graphics
How to increase traffic anyway?
Increase? Why would you wanna do that?
@@Hushey because my city is very empty, how to create so many car traffic like your video?
Create supply lines to industries and connect other cities with passenger routes
New video let's Goooo
yeahh!! cheers for the comment siwis!
Well I can't afford mod traffic mod
Its free
Hello again!
hello Luke!! cheers for the comment!
edit:
Hushey has awesome videos on TF2 but this (imho) is not it !
😜
(comment before the edit above)
Well, my TF(1&2) games never looks like THAT.
-
Moreover, after about 2 years in-game time, there are NO cars on the streets of Towns, or in-between the Towns that are "worked" by yours truly.
-
Only Citizens mindlessly walking to and from STATIONS using; Bus, Trams, Trains, Ships, Airplanes.
Thus avoid this Video's "advice" at all costs and focus on developing a perfect TRANSPORT system .
-
As such: TF2 is a "transport" game, emphasis on TRANSPORT, not a "traffic congestion" puzzle-game !
(... for traffic congestions you have Cities: Skylines ... )
I would argue that traffic is an enevitable part of the game, so its one thing to force people not to use cars but its an extra challenge to sort out traffic too. It has the tools so why not!?
@@Hushey
And this kind of answers is why you Rock mate !
True about the challenges indeed.
As for " force people not to use cars" ...
😂😅😁
That being said (written ?), your videos are inspiring in enriching my/our games.

@@krixpop 🍻🤝 thank you for the friendly comment
This game is broken anyway.
Yes in that its too easy 😎
It might be a good way for traffic. But its ugly as ...
