Why are your switches/points and catenaries so astonishingly realistic.....😲😲😲😲😲great work! Plus I really like how you built the tracks approaching/exiting stations.
Thanks! As for junctions at stations only thing I can add, is that I inspired real layouts. Mariupol Terminal is heavily modernized real Mariupol station, Sartana is a little modernized copy of real one, and Aslanovo is a partial copy of Budapest Keleti (without shunting/depot tracks).
I actually have a question, if you look at 33:47, 33:50, you can see two opposite traffic lights at the middle track. Does it cause any conflicts or actually allow trains to go either direction?
Those traffic lights are actually just an assets. Every station should have entrance traffic lights (the one with 4 lenses or more) on each track, including the oncoming tracks, where trains usually go in opposite direction. So yeah, this two lights are assets that have to be there to make it more realistic. They don't affect game logic. And you can notice it's the same before and after every station, e.g. 11:08
Wow, I never seen such a fantastic map before. It's unbelieveable that you did this in only 200 hours in this realistic grade with this extreme level of details in TPF2. Great work!

Well I saw a video one man was comparing vanilla TF2/Tf1 on the same device, on similar map, and TF2 had more FPS. + I know there is a performance tuning mod that helps a lot, I don't know if such exists for Tf1. On the other hand someone in comments said TF1 runs better on his laptop. I'm just saying you could try. E.g. 2 hours period on steam, or with other..ways..
A little history. I created this map as a representation of the actual route between Volnovaha and Mariupol in (mostly) 1:1 scale, including stations layout. In real life 1st main station was "Mariupol" after that "Sartana freight station" 11km later, and than "Kalchik" 18km after that. You can check what it looked like in first two videos on my channel. This video is start of my experiment, what a modern high-speed line could look like (Line B), and so I had to modernize some tracks along the way, and also create "Mariupol Central", which responsibility is to merge 2 lines into one. My point is, it is placed so close to "Mariupol Terminal", that there is no way it could be considered a main station in real life, it's only like 6km away. In real life on this place there was a simple stop.
The fact that you only spent 200 hours with this amazes me Me with my 1300h+ cannot get as beautiful. I need to know how to build the switch tracks like that
I mean it's 200 hours for this piece of track, not my overall experience. For switches - use switch kit mod, blades and levers mod, and try building or inspiring by real layouts from Google maps or whatever.
Idk, I tried riding a random car through the town and it doesn't look very interesting. Same buildings, roads, etc. And it's much harder to detail a city itself for such perspective or I don't know how to do it.
@@thegldfnch There are a lot of videos on RUclips. New videos are published everyday by locals. Thanks to that, I can follow the reconstruction almost in real time.

you mean series like "Hello guys, in last episode we built this station and now let's continue build line to Volnovakha"? Or just recording another routes on this map?
I don't understand how you placed those specific tracks combined with those specific catenary. I have the track and catenary mods, so I can build these tracks, but then it will automatically place catenary (badly, no variety) if I choose the tracks to be electrified. If I choose the tracks not to be electrified and place the catenary manually as you(?), the tracks won't actually be electrified. So.. Any tricks/tips? Something I missed? Can I get the tracks to be with the cable, but without the "catenary-pole" somehow as seen in other track-typed mods?
Mod #3 in list contains same tracks as Mod#2, but without wire and catenary (electrified). As for tracks with wire but without catenary. Such do exist, e.g in advanced constructor from my list, if I remember correctly. However I don't recommend this approach not only because it looks much worse, especially on crossings switches etc., but because you'll have to adjust OffsetX for almost every placement, which in my experience takes more time then placing wires manually and placing catenary afterwards, not worrying about adjusting OffsetX

Starting to build catanery itself on a map and it is so time consuming. So big props for doing it - quite a beauty. Am I correct that you found a way to simulate the zigzag (left to right and back) of the catanery as well? If so: What did you do?
Both mods (for catenary and for the wire) have an OffsetX slider. I went to their source code and added similar slider for OffsetY. (although seems like new version of wire mod has this slider already, but I didn't try it) And so you place one catenary and wire -0.25m, next +0.25m and so on and so on
@@metathron6307 Wow that’s a ridiculous amount of work you put into that. I’m literally impressed that it „only“ (take that as a compliment) took you 200 hours to build the map. I actually would have thought that catanery only would have took 100 hours plus.
