    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  7 месяцев назад +18

      Thanks! As for junctions at stations only thing I can add, is that I inspired real layouts.
      Mariupol Terminal is heavily modernized real Mariupol station, Sartana is a little modernized copy of real one, and Aslanovo is a partial copy of Budapest Keleti (without shunting/depot tracks).

    • @boyanbai4154

      I actually have a question, if you look at 33:47, 33:50, you can see two opposite traffic lights at the middle track. Does it cause any conflicts or actually allow trains to go either direction?

    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  7 месяцев назад +16

      Those traffic lights are actually just an assets.
      Every station should have entrance traffic lights (the one with 4 lenses or more) on each track, including the oncoming tracks, where trains usually go in opposite direction.
      So yeah, this two lights are assets that have to be there to make it more realistic. They don't affect game logic.
      And you can notice it's the same before and after every station, e.g. 11:08

    Good job so far. But every (main) station needs a track field for shunting. I would place it between those 2 tracks at 8:20

    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  7 месяцев назад +1

      A little history.
      I created this map as a representation of the actual route between Volnovaha and Mariupol in (mostly) 1:1 scale, including stations layout.
      In real life 1st main station was "Mariupol" after that "Sartana freight station" 11km later, and than "Kalchik" 18km after that.
      You can check what it looked like in first two videos on my channel.
      This video is start of my experiment, what a modern high-speed line could look like (Line B), and so I had to modernize some tracks along the way, and also create "Mariupol Central", which responsibility is to merge 2 lines into one.
      My point is, it is placed so close to "Mariupol Terminal", that there is no way it could be considered a main station in real life, it's only like 6km away.
      In real life on this place there was a simple stop.

    I don't understand how you placed those specific tracks combined with those specific catenary. I have the track and catenary mods, so I can build these tracks, but then it will automatically place catenary (badly, no variety) if I choose the tracks to be electrified. If I choose the tracks not to be electrified and place the catenary manually as you(?), the tracks won't actually be electrified. So.. Any tricks/tips? Something I missed?
    Can I get the tracks to be with the cable, but without the "catenary-pole" somehow as seen in other track-typed mods?

    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  2 месяца назад

      Mod #3 in list contains same tracks as Mod#2, but without wire and catenary (electrified).
      As for tracks with wire but without catenary. Such do exist, e.g in advanced constructor from my list, if I remember correctly.
      However I don't recommend this approach not only because it looks much worse, especially on crossings switches etc., but because you'll have to adjust OffsetX for almost every placement, which in my experience takes more time then placing wires manually and placing catenary afterwards, not worrying about adjusting OffsetX

      Thank you very much!
      I'm planning to create a video at some point, where I build some station and a part of line, that would explain a lot.
      But I'm not sure when I can do it, I need to learn more about video editing, commentary, get some plan, etc.

    This is excellent. I would like to know how such a density of buildings was made; surely not by placing each one?

    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  7 месяцев назад +3

      Step 1: manually place all roads as you like with "player ownership" enabled, so game can't add new or modify existing.
      Step 2: using "sandbox" game mod place as many cities side by side as needed, so they look like one big city.

      I have Lenovo legion laptop with 13900, 4080 and 32gb ram.
      Nevertheless I tweaked performance tuning mod to very low values 100m, 0.2, 5000m. Plus heavily decreased population - each building has maximum of 1 person living in, to reduce CPU load.

    Starting to build catanery itself on a map and it is so time consuming. So big props for doing it - quite a beauty. Am I correct that you found a way to simulate the zigzag (left to right and back) of the catanery as well? If so: What did you do?

    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  7 месяцев назад

      Both mods (for catenary and for the wire) have an OffsetX slider. I went to their source code and added similar slider for OffsetY. (although seems like new version of wire mod has this slider already, but I didn't try it)
      And so you place one catenary and wire -0.25m, next +0.25m and so on and so on

    • @Volvo_EG
      @Volvo_EG 7 месяцев назад

      @@metathron6307 Wow that’s a ridiculous amount of work you put into that. I’m literally impressed that it „only“ (take that as a compliment) took you 200 hours to build the map. I actually would have thought that catanery only would have took 100 hours plus.

    • @metathron6307
      @metathron6307  7 месяцев назад

      Well placing catenaries is complicated only at stations, especially Aslanovo. But between them it's not that hard.
      I mean for example 5km of track - catenary every 50m, so it's 100 catenaries and 100 wires, basically 200 clicks and some wheel scroll.
      It can take 10 minutes I guess? idk, maybe 20

      Well, I have lags. Very good noticeable when approaching Aslanovo, but performance tuning mod definitely helps.
