Hey bud. I just wanted to point out that by having your lines have 3 stops, you are causing there to be builup on other dropoff points that will never actually be picked up from. Materials are picked up and dropped off in the truck stops on the platforms connected to lines, and since you made 3 trips instead of 2, you are wasting a dropoff spot and resources. This will also cause unwanted congestion in the mid to late game. Your vehicles will arrive on one side, then drive around to the other side, causing congestion.

Hey Biffa, super excited for this, hope this becomes a series! I've had many hours in TF2, just couple of things I've noticed 1. When you connected the two roads about halfway in you used a city street and not a rural road, they have worse speed limits 2. When you do a line you don't have to specify that it has to go back to the start, it loops round automatically and by doing that you can create problems with platforms and pathing
If an industry does a 2 to 1 you do not need to provide resources from 2 industries, you only need to do that when you want to level up. 400 wood (does not upgrade) can be turned into 200 planks which is already 1 level up. And you don't need to do a stop to return, it will be wasted time because they will go back to one platform and then have to move again to the other platform to pickup goods. You can also set lines to use multiple platforms to allow for more trucks to load at once. For Machines you could actually transport them back with the existing route and use the closer station for the trucks to pick it up to the city. This evolves naturally towards the late game, but you don't really build point A to point B routes, you build hubs where any goods could go back and forth and then would get distributed elsewhere. That way, goods will naturally flow where they are needed.
OH YES!!! i have hundreds of hours in this game love it glad to see this video :D PS nice start, you can have feeder lines those that drop off goods/ores etc at one spot then the main line is one that will pick up from 1 location drop off then pick up again to take back so they are always full while moving more efficient both ways.

The ai is smart enough to have the logging vehicles bring planks back for the machine shop to pick up. Makes thing more efficient and lowers travel time. Its possible to make large distribution depots using this method.
Got this game in 2020. Watched just about all of squirrel’s videos on the game back then. 😂 there’s tons of mods for the game. I use realistic cities and auto signaling mainly.

Maybe you should use transport hubs so most of your cars are always full (they can carry all cargo). only lines with cargo to a city centre have to return empty. Also you get paid as the crow flies. So set op straight lines (maybe from somewhat further). And building warehouses like you did, wouldn't be my choice. I would invest in saturating the lines first. Also maybe you should have picked a different capital, as its basestat will remain that 50 number. Usually you pick a town that has a better base stat (150 ~ 200). So it can grow easily 3 or even 4 times bigger. Hope you'll continue this series!
I’ve never really loved the transport fever games but I think the developers have a solid foundation for a city builder that I can definitely see myself playing. Fingers crossed?
I love Transport Fever 2 :) You should skip ahead to the 1900s, there is barely anything for the 1850s Oh also, you can extend the platform length to hold more recourses then adding the separate buildings.

It's been a while since you've played this game sir... First, you don't need 3 stops for goods and materials, just pick-up and drop-off... In the vehicle management page, you can copy the vehicles you have on that line to add the same type, color, and what ever other change you've made to the vehicles on that line so you don't have to re-configure each time... other than those two points, you're off to a really good start... Thanks for the video...
Biffa buddy, doing point to point you don't have to send it back to stop 1, your effectively send vehicles to same stop 2 times in a row, just a heads up m8 😂
When you want to add more storage to a platform to keep it from being overloaded, you want to add cargo platforms connected to the existing ones to make them *longer*. The building you're adding is just for connections to industries at the other side, it doesn't add any storage.
My personal goto on a new map is to see if oil, proces, fuel are nearby. If so I will keep the map and connect it all. Makes you money like no other business in my opinion. Anyhow, keep it going. I want to play the game again after seeing this ;) ps In my last run I had three rail lines go from east to west and also three from north to south. All trains could go on that without any problem. Lovely sight and big money was made :)
Yes!! More episodes please. This is an interesting game and I've enjoyed this first episode and would like to see more. As a question, can you set your vehicles to leave ONLY when the cargo is full? This worked well in Railroad Tycoon and I wondered if it worked here to max efficiency.

Biffa, you don't need the "and back again" part of your transport lines. Your wagons automatically go back to the start after dropping off the resources.

Don’t forget distance in this game. Set up local infrastructure and then if u can ship it out with trains or planes once u get there. Basically get a train that has profit on both ends and that’s BANK…. No need to worry about money again.
you need to add many many many more carts on those lines, as they are only moving 4. you will make more $$$$ for when you want to dip toes into trains, as that's expensive when you first start

26:30 thats not how it works :D You need to make them longer (wich you blocked with the Building) to have more Space. You built the ability to have more Lines :)

You have so many industries that you should accept the 4 ressources instead of 2 to grow cities. It would vary your goods needs and incentivize you build real triage cargo stations...
Hey Biffa, just dont be so shy... add more vehicles to your transport lines... I never ever start with less than 5. .. jumping up to 10 or 15 very fast... 50% is guaranteed to be transported an selled... just add more vehicles for transportation and you'll swim in money...

Sandbox Mode is NOT needed to run the date at 1/4 speed - that is a Vanilla option.
