Ruby Weapon is what happens when you feed your pet too many big fat tacos.

Pulling this game out for old times sake and with your help I'm gonna kick the crap out of Ruby Weapon (I think)
How did it go?
Was wondering how is this video under 10 minutes, then learned that later versions of this game let you speed up Summons animations.
It’s let’s you speed up the whole game by 3x
It's ps4 version... I dont even consider 3x speed a cheat, just time saving for real life. And all you have to do is hit L3
However even with 3x speed when using KoTR AND the Infinite HP MP Limit cheat it still took me 30 minutes worth of KoTR so you still MUST remove the timer against Emerald weapon when using KoTR under 3x speed to off it and NOT have the timer hit zero.
But even with the Infinite HP/MP/Limit cheat Ribbons are still a MUST against Ruby weapon.
BUT 3x speed remaster version is USELESS without the infinite HP cheat ALSO used even both weapon bosses will easily do 9999 damage (take 2 to 3 turns) Before you can mime KoTR EVEN ONCE.
Did we just witness a curb stomp on the most op boss in the game?
Imagine what ruby emerald and diamond look like in remake

I'm on PS4 and as soon as I revive my other two party members, Ruby casts whirlwind back to back.

I've seen people say this but this has never happened to me, oddly enough.
Ruby can just use the attack whenever the fuck it wants, even if its tentacles are out.

With a few megaelixirs, dazers and stuff from the Materia Caves this boss is extremely easy... Beating it without KOTR summon would be the real challenge
4x cut, and like 15 [ counter + mime ] works great. You don't even need dazers. Works even better on Emerald.
Then, of course you can coin toss it to death as well

If you have KOTR and Mimic paired with healing materia. Put the KOTR on his limbs and he won’t counter attack and you’ll heal but he won’t counter attack with ultimate. It’s a good glitch.
Knights of the round+ mimic is all you need. WITHOUT KotR.....yeah...thats a realllll slog lol.
Something I haven't seen mentioned in these guides is to inject your party with tranquilizers beforehand; it apparently reduces damage taken by 1/3 (unless there's an exception for the superbosses I'm unaware of?).
For strategies not relying on limits that seems like an easy way to boost your survivability by a lot. Not super necessary but helps for surviving an Ultima if you slip up
with the dazer stunning.

You guys definitely have the best guides, but showing the groups equipment/materia before the fight would have been useful.
With a few megalixers and the stuff from the materia caves I honestly ended up beating him by accident. He died when I was about to let him kill me and restart with a better strategy.

Did much the same thing back in the 90's. Posted the strat somewhere. Yahoo prolly. Think it was just message boards and chat rooms then. Used Hades instead of dazzlers. Quadra-Knights. Rinse and Repeat. RW never even fights back.

It would have been a great bonus if you moved you're favourite item or the one you would like to use to the top of your list, (can't remember been 20 years) but yeah I had elixir, x potion and dazers....you can sort your inventory I'm not making it up
I got to the point where ruby had no skill power left... But if he had none left... How the hell Is he still able to summon his tentacles!?!

@@tangiblemammal5273 I actually beat both super boss weapons.. finally, I used a gold chocobo to get nights of the round and spammed it to beat emerald weapon then used Vincent last limit to beat ruby... I kinda cheated cuzz I used switch God mode lol

Campbell never beat him using knight of the round, I beat him solo or with there party memeber in the ultimate struggle to keep everyone alive. Lucky 7777, final attack, death blow etc
Did you magic hammer it? Lol , not tried that idea yet! I think you can [ counter + mime ] an enemy skill.. so like x15 magic hammer. I'm definitely going to go try this!
I can’t believe I made it harder by killing Ruby with one person lol I didn’t know I had to have 2 teammates knocked out before the fight then revive them 😂
why not just use dazers and then manipulate the boss unless there is ruby weapon has command immunity
My 13 year old me was grinding for hours and hours to equip all three party members with Master Materia of "Final Attack"+"Phoenix" and "MP Absorb"+"Knigh of the Round" because I thought it's the only way to beat Ruby Weapon.
I just used KoTR HP absorb 2 mastered HP and MP pluses for a 9999 HP 999 MP Cloud at lv 65 the ribbon equipped and SOLO the fight.
8k 8k 8k 8k 9k 9k 9k... you did ultimate end 6 times taking im guessing around 700,000 before omni slash. good grief just how much health does this thing have?

When battle starts, have someone other than Cloud cast Big Guard on your party..
Now use Cloud and select W Summon, KOTR twice on the TENTACLES, not Ruby himself.
KOTR hits and Ruby withdraws the tentacles. Next KOTR hits Ruby himself.
From this point on, all 3 members will mime every turn.
Ruby will keep burying and withdrawing the tentacles. Since the original command was set to target the tentacles, the tentacles will be targeted if they are exposed.
Every KOTR cast will replenish
the casting character's HP.
Since everyone will use mimic after Cloud's first attack, no one will need to replace their MP.
Emerald Weapon
Replace Ribbons with Sprint Shoes
Cloud:
KOTR + HP Absorb
Mime
Mystile
Sprint shoes
Other 2 members:
Mime
Mystile

Emerald's "Air Tam Storm" is it's most powerful attack. You should be able to kill him before he uses it.
The damage it does is based on how many master materia you have equipped, if I recall correctly.
Don't quote me on this, but each mastered materia you have is equal to 1,111 HP of damage from Air Tam Storm. (I think).
If you insist on equipping HP Plus + MP Plus, use fresh ones from a materia store (Cosmo Canyon) that are low level.
I still want to know how these Weapon battles are going to be handled in Rebirth. As well as the KoTR summon. Because obviously you won’t be able to have a dozen giant knights summoned fighting by your side in real time. They’re likely going to have to whittle it down to just King Arthur and maybe the exit finisher he summons all the rest of the knights for a big final blow?
Knights of round and mime are the only way to beat the two added bosses

I have not fought this thing myself, but it definitely looks like a tough one.
Back in 97, no boss in video game history had this much health.

finally a way to beat Ruby Weapon without cheats.
Playing on Xbox One. Using W-Summon twice did NOT work! I used Phoenix materia to bring everyone back at the start of the fight. Then hit KOTR with W-Summon and had it Mimed by another charecter. Well, they died and I brought them back with Phoenix Downs and even though I had KOTR at a 2 Star (Meaning you can use it twice) the Summon ability was now gone for KOTR? I can't mime it if I can no longer use it? Any help?
i beat him but not like that but i did beat him. i traveling throught the game now with materia crazy ass combos!!!! i i feel 7 in1997!!!

If you need time to think, pause the game hehe
Or change the battle option to WAIT, so that you can take your time when going through menus.

Ok how do you do this I'm new to final fantasy and I found my ps1 and wanna buy the game my friend told me it's hella fun but there's something called Ruby and emerald weapons and they op. How do you keep doing the summonings so much?
Double summons and then each player cast mime on it.
W-Summon materia paired with whichever Summon, in this case Knights of the Round. Then Mime mastered on on the other characters, which copies the last move used. ^^'
