Long Gui can be cheesed, debuff the body and summon, it's legs go bye bye. Vercingetorix and Attacus are much harder. In FF15 Adamantoise is like 5th or 6th hardest boss, Omega in Insomina is the hardest by FAR. First time I fought Adamantoise was at level 60 in the first two weeks of the game, took 8 hours, my record at level 120 with Rare Metal is well under 5 minutes. Warpstriking for 99,999 makes it trivial, you CAN'T do that to Omega.
Hardest so far from a super boss point of view was omega weapon in final fantasy XV, it's level 120 regardless what level you are,it had taken me over 3 hours to beat it, no magic or summons work on it, just attacks which barely take anything of it, fought it at level 99, very tricky and tense throughout the battle and obviously the difficulty is keeping Noctis alive if he dies game over
Minerva. FF7 crisis core. Took me some 2 days to kill. Even being jacked to high hell, most of the underground side missions can kill even at lv100 with broken, AND max hp, mp, and ap. Even with max stats (255) Funny thing thing is, once i learned her attacks and stuff, i farmed her somewhat for the pheonix downs and levels😂
Never played more than half of these games due to limited systems, but... Ruby, Emerald Weapon: never won Omega Weapon (8): never won Ultimecia: Probably half/half wins/losses Giant of Babil (4): Never won (even with CHEATS!) Zeromus (12): Won I don't time anything so idk how long it took, but most I clearly didn't win.
Ruby is 100% the harder fight. They also said that Omega from 8 is level 100, but his level is based on your level in game. It's like the writers for this never played the games
Omega FF8 IS a lv 100 boss ON The PS1 version of the game where is always going to be at lv 100 BUT I still had it be a lv 100 boss On the PS4 remaster even if the entire party is ONLY at lv 99.
Because it is, most of bosses in the list aren't ( by far ) the strongest ones in their respective titles, they only got it right for FFI, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFXI bosses. All the other Bosses listed are wrong. I don't like to consider Absolute Virtue ( FFXI ) as the strongest boss for his game as well, is he the strongest?, It is but for the wrong reasons, Absolute Virtue it's not hard due his challening, it's hard because the boss is stupidly bad designed.
Ruby was way harder than emerald, final attack combined with phoenix made that fight reasonable. Ruby you’re only beating with non stop knights of the round and dazers but that feels cheap. In 5 there was shinryu and omega but neo ex death is pretty tough as well. The rest of the first 9 I’d agree with
If you equip a fire ring most his attacks cant kill you and normally i have less options when fighting emerald cause i usually don't do the chocobo sidequest. I use the lucky 7 strat with all 3 characters. Hp+ mastered and 4x cut with everyone works super well
If you throw dazers at him over and over, you can just kill him without any strats. I only had 2x cut and Omnislash and beat him that way. He gives you an item that gets you a Gold Chocobo, so you can skip that sidequest entirely to get Materia for Emerald Weapon. I beat the whole game in 27 hours with no speed boost/no random encounter unequipped this way
@@michaelhernandez7978 if you can find a ton of dazers it does work just boring, when I beat him I had already got kotr because I had a hard time getting around his defense otherwise
You can beat Ruby in minutes with this strat. All materia counter mime. You can do one as counter Pheonix if you want. Go in with Cloud with Omni slash ready to go. Other party members dead. Start with hero drink. He will hit you and you will counter with 8 hero drinks. Then use Omni slash. Do nothing else. Let him hit you. Every time he does you will hit him with 8 Omni slash. He can will die in 7-10 minutes. Faster if you farmed and leveled. If you’re a lower level use counter Pheonix.
To me what made Ruby harder than emerald is that in the first couple of rounds, its knocking out two of your players. You don't know which one, it's completely random and even if you have the one player remaining that could possibly do this fight, you have to know what this Ruby weapon is going to do next. It's not something that you can get easily in the first couple of rounds. Emerald weapon is hard because of the time limit. But once you find the underwater materia, you could deal with everything else. Not knocking how difficult it still is though.
Omega Weapon or Shinryu from FFV are both much more difficult to beat than the ExDeath forms. They can destroy a well prepared party at level 99 while ExDeath is pretty easy at level 80.
FFXV Adamantoise was actually incredibly easy because it basically doesn't attack you, it is just a damage sponge. The only time I failed the fight was because of a bug sending me flying so far that it de-aggroed the turtle and forced me to restart. Some of the other bosses had much less HP but were much harder to take down.
@@chrisgonzalez5883Death just takes absolutely forever to reach the point of instantly killing it. Alterna(the ring’s other instant kill), on the other hand, could kill it in a single hit if you’re lucky.
@@steffisfantasy the original US release didn't have penance because the dark aeons weren't in that version either. So if you can fight the dark aeons then you don't have the versions hes referring too
I defeated Penance via Zantetsuken. I beat half or more of the dark aeons with that, lol. You have to become strong enough to beat them, because you simply can’t beat Dark Yojimbo 5 times in row trying to roll Zantetsuken. But fuck if I’m going to bother fighting Penance when without a guide or much effort I realized Yojimbo will end the fight for me if I pay him 100k
Honestly the giant cactuar is the hardest for me. It has no reason being a class B mission yet vercinge i beat just by buffing, healing and poison and i won.
Between Emerald and Ruby Weapon, Ruby is a bit tedious if you don't know what u r doing. Emerald you can kill it within 20 mins without the underwater material. For Ruby, start of with only 1 of party member alive, then he'll put his Claw under the ground, revive other party member. Use W-summon+hades+Kotr and mime and he's dead fast
The others in the comments are absolutely correct about XIV: UCoB is definitely not more difficult than either TEA or DSR. I also disagree with V, I think Omega is definitely harder than Neo Exdeath. Other than that, I pretty much agree with the rest!
i Disagree on FFVI though. I literally one shot kefka Using Trance terra + Genji glove + Ultima weapon + Ragnarok. Kaiser Dragon was way more Harder than kefka
I was going to say on final fantasy 14, didn't they Nerf this boss because so many people in the beginning were having problems beating him because it took too long?
Ardyn achieved his goals too, he is basically a modern day Kefka, to the extent they both have a "World of Ruin" albeit Ardyn has his for many years, awaiting either his own demise (technically his salvation) or to ultimately end his cursed existence (which again, he wants to die, so either way, he's won)
Great video. You must all know that Yiazmat is special. Yiazmat's name alludes to director Yasumi Matsuno's nickname (Yazumi Matsuno). The additional "i" in Yiazmat's name is not present in the Japanese version, likely being a localization decision to associate it closer to "Tiamat." The title of the hunt is "Farewell to a Legend," a reference to how Matsuno "left" the company before the game was completed, and the story Montblanc tells refers to how the development team felt about him, albeit with a different end.
@@voidroad Exactly. You can beat him at very low levels if you're patient, because you can leave the fight to heal. Yiazmat is the absolute epitome of "bullet sponge".
Something else about the Emerald Weapon, it had an attack that would hit each party member for 1111 damage multiplied by the number of materia equipped. 9 materia on each character = no-win scenario. 2 materia = the possibility of lucky 7s.
You can still beat him with matiria equiped, just put 1 character with only phoenix equiped to revive the others if that attaxk kills them or equip pheonix with the final attack matiria to get it to revive your party. Knights of the Round helps a lot but hes still beatable just usinf limit breaks (assuming you have everyone's level 4 limits) i find emerald to be a lot easier than ruby, ruby is evil
There are a ton of remake bosses and optional bosses that are significantly harder than the ones on this list. If a Final Fantasy game has optional bosses or has ever been re-released, you can safely assume that the hardest boss in the game is NEVER the final story boss. Here’s a more accurate list. I’ve personally played through the games and defeated every boss listed here: FFI: Chronodia (20th Anniversary Remake) FFII: Deumion (20th Anniversary Remake) FFIII: Iron Giant (DS Remake) FFIV: Proto Babil (DS Remake) FFV: Neo Shinryu FFVI: Omega Weapon (GBA Remake) FFVII: Ruby Weapon. Emerald Weapon actually isn’t a terrible pick for this one, but Ruby Weapon has some particularly nasty tricks that typically make him harder for most people. FFVIII: Omega Weapon. Pretty accurate. FFIX: Ozma. One of the tougher ones on this list. FFX: Penance FFXII: The 5 Judges. Not as long as Yiazmat, but much harder. (I haven’t played FFXIII) FFXV: Omega. WAAAAAAAY harder than anything else in this game. You’re not really supposed to be able to die in FFXV and he legit burned through hundreds of items and actually killed me multiple times.
From the FF13 trilogy: - Long Gui from the first game is nuts. He has 16 million HP and uses Ultima, Quake, and Roar -- all of which do INSANE amounts of damage to the entire party. You practically need full development to have a chance at winning. You can take out the legs instantly by summoning an Eidolon, but you still need to drill through this thing's massive HP and you only have a set amount of time before Long Gui gets back up. When he does, he claps back with a double whammy of overpowered attacks that might wipe out your party even at full HP. Don't even consider fighting this thing without 3 Sentinels and at least 20k HP on everyone. - Valfodr, the DLC boss from the Coliseum of Final Fantasy XIII-2, has a Level 99 variant with almost as much HP as Long Gui. That variant can use Ultima and will eventually use an even stronger attack called Gagnrath that you MUST switch to 3 Sentinels to block, as you cannot hope to survive otherwise. He has an attack pattern, but he hits VERY hard so you will be heaing a bunch. - In Lightning Returns, the last game of the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy, Aeronite in a Chaos field caps out at an HP that's (believe it or not) even higher than Yiazmat from Final Fantasy 12. And the biggest challenge about this fight is the fact that you're on a time limit for the whole thing. You get 4 minutes to stagger this boss, and when fully staggered, 4 minutes to deplete its HP. If you take too long, it flies off and you have to start all over. Bhunivelze+ on Chaos Mode is just as hard, though thankfully with less HP...
I think the reason a lot of people say Emerald is harder than Ruby is because Ruby is susceptible to Stop so you can just perma Stop him through the fight once his tentacles are in the ground. I've seen people use dazers and Hades to do this. If not for that I would 100% agree.
I remember finding Omega Weapon in FFVIII once. Its first attack was Lv5 Death, which is instant death against any party member with a level that is a multiple of 5. Unluckily, it wiped my party.
I managed to survive level 5 death but got wiped out by terra break the first few times i fought him, until rinoa finally used invincible moon then i survived it 😆 🤣
That was my favorite fight in the game! That character design was freaking amazing the first time you see it. It's the first Ohhhhh Fuuuuu.... moment for me.
You won't die against it had you put 100 Death on your Status Def Junctions. Just use Zell's Armageddon Fist and you should take him down in like 2 to 3 rounds usually.
It was Yiazmat for me. Its a bummer because we had constant power interruptions so I had to redo most of the times but I learned to debuff it and then save. :) Then for Omega Weapon, winning without holy war trials is possible if you summon Eden and throughout its animation, shuffle Selphie's Slot until you get The End. :)
I’m not sure if anyone found this, but you can beat Adamantoise in FFXV without taking any damage. You can simply stay at the distant rocks to the far left of the Adamantoise and throw your weapon at it from a distance. It took me about 45min, but I literally stood in one spot and took zero damage.
I remember my friend raging badly at the ffX Seymour boss battle at gagazet Mountain. His dad came in to see what the commotion was about. His dad then started reading the stratagegy guide to him. I'll never forget that moment 😂
Truth, I find the battle against Lady Yunalesca to be the most aggravating in X. It's bad enough she spams you with Zombie/Curaga in her second form; if you AREN'T Zombified when she takes her third and final form, it's instant death
FFXV adamantoise can be done in 30 minutes with ring of the lucii, just have to keep recharging with warps to restore mp and spam hold. Still has insanely high health though and also depends on party level at the time, summons hardly do anything to it.
@@blondafro4112 Even if you don't want to count Omega Weapon since it's DLC, there's that one daemon that is by one of the Empire's forts that can only be damaged with magic
30 minutes? I farmed the 4 adamantites i needed from him in like an hour, the fight can take anywhere from 3 minutes if you're lucky to about 10, i dont think it ever took me as long as 30
@@sonofashoopuf8681 this! The first time I did it I brute forced this bitch underleveled with no strategy. Took me 3 hrs. Then i went back before the ring got buffed and easily took it down. And with the ring 🤣🤣🤣 well....its pretty much turtle soup in seconds
Yiazmat from XII still outclasses it. Even the most prepared party will take hours to defeat it. The only reason it's not the hardest enemy in all of FF is that it doesn't regen its HP if you leave the room
Honestly, it took a while to be ready for Penance in FF10, but once I was the problem was a little after I'd gotten him over halfway down I think, since he did the transformation, the power went out, and I had to do it all again
@@OverlordZeroULTIMA Thank you! I appreciate that :D . Yes!! I know he's not the first Highwind, but I feel like Kain is easily the most iconic persona with that name!
Not only that, but Ardyn managed to really fulfill his goal of revenge by being killed by Noctis in the Beyond, at the cost of Noct's life and the Crystal as well
The Omega Weapon from FF8 is the very boss that got me into FF. In 6th grade, a buddy of mine brought his FF8 strategy guide to school and claimed it was a requirement to master this game. He showed me the games bestiary and Omega Weapon and said he was the strongest boss in the world. A year later I purchased the game so that one day I could defeat Omega Weapon. Eventually I did. To answer the hardest monster question, that would have to be Emerald Weapon. I developed a strategy where I mastered Knights of the round on Cloud, Cid, and Barrett. Then I also mastered Final attack-life2 materia and uses limit breaks when the emeralds appeared. When my final attack-life 2's were all used up, I defeated him with a 4 times cut from Cloud. After 4 years let's just say I was in shock.
believe it or not I never thought Adamantoise was the hardest boss in FFXV, merely the one that took the longest I guess? But it never really had the hitting power to ever KO any party member in my multiple times playing through FFXV. The Royal Edition of FFXV (which I think many would consider the definitive edition) has multiple optional end game bosses in the final chapter that are pretty difficult though
All of this. I was actually kinda disappointed when I finally took on Adamantoise because it was just an uninteresting slog, no nuance or tactics required. All the build-up had me expecting so much more (although I won't lie, the feeling of charging towards it was pretty epic)
@@AlextheSuperfly Same. I spent the whole fight spamming the upgraded Drilling Machine weapon on one of his flippers until it was fully broken (at which point everyone was doing 9999 damage a hit) and just went ham on it's head. Not really challenging, just tedious.
I always had max friendship with Yojimbo in FFX so 60% of the time he would use Zanmato straight away without any payment.... so I used this to my advantage to farm dark aeons (also one shots both Nemesis and Penance) to get equipment for every character with Break HP Limit, Ribbon and two free slots 😏👌
I literally spent over 100 hours maxing out all stats, making necessary weapons and preparing to take on Penance. Grinding/farming all the necessary items in the monster arena to cuztomize the perfect armors for everyone took forever. Followed online strategy guides on exactly how to fight Penance. I wanted to beat him without using yojimbo. I literally destroyed all the dark aeons with no difficulty, they stood no chance. Get to Penance.... Get my butt kicked. Said screw it and just used yojimbo lol. So i agree, Penance is the worst.
@@sadrobot5501 I don't exactly remember. This was 4 or 5 years ago. I just remember spending an ungodly amount if hours. Now I don't have the time for all that. Got a family and babies now so I just use cheat codes lol
@@me2632 And you have a legal cheat code in FFX called Zanmato, hehe. But let me tell you, after all that preparation you did, Penance shouldn't have gave you any problem. Ofc, with no Break HP Limit and the perfect armor, it also demands a perfect battle (never let those arms take a turn bc with perfect armor you don't have any status immunities), but still, is manageable. Dark Aeons are considered pushovers if you know what you are doing and Penance is not that hard compared to the likes of the FF12 TZA Judges, Vanilla PS2 FF12 Zodiark, FF9 Ozma or Omega/Shinryu from FF5
Omega mark was not even hard tbh just have bubble belt I had a harder time with zodiak my first time fighting him. Yiazmat was a good challenge, fun with the right strategy
@@rommyremus9650I had heard about the judges. I heard that was a harder fight than anything else. But I think the reason why they didn't include it is because I know for a while you could only get it on another version and then when they re-released 12, they added the judges afterwards. I don't know. I never got to that fight.
3:44 The DS version is much harder. In that version, you have to steal dark matter from him in order to awaken the secret boss Proto Babil. This creature has over 400,000 HP and can do an ungodly amount of damage from its physical tag alone and he does a move that will kill the party immediately. All I can say is if you even dare try to challenge this guy, you definitely need adamant armors and the strongest weapons in that game in order to stand a chance so get used to playing new game plus a lot if you're playing the DS version.
That was 4, right? But yes, that guy was the hardest by far, and even using cheat codes didn't help! Even Golbez changed his elemental weakness in the DS version. I pretty much used Bio on him since it wasn't aligned with an element and it damaged him with the poison effect.
Yeah, since that boss was only in one version of Final Fantasy 4, and not common to all versions, that's probably why it didn't make the list. The GBA and PSP versions have a super tough dragon that's hard to beat unless you have the right equipment!
@@bardinblue9830cursed rings and kains ultimate weapon make it alot easier. My party can auto battle brachdiorados but proto babil on ds is far harder imo. Still brachdiorados is a really fun fight
It’s up for debate, I’ve seen people saying that UCoB is still one of the hardest things in the game even if it isn’t THE hardest after all. Though I’d say the REAL hardest boss is just trying to capture the rare creatures in island sanctuary. TO THE SEVENTH HELL WITH YOU ORNERY KARAKUL, MAKING ME WASTE MY NETS ON YOU.
Zodiark actually posed a greater challenge than Yiazmat to me. With the right debuffs/buffs and weapon/acessories, Yiazmat is more of a chore. Zodiark forces you to go through the toughest dungeon in the game and has some cheap a** tactics to throw you off all the time.
There were so many annoying things with Zodiark. Especially near the end. I remember he sometimes casted reflect on your party and one time i didn't realize it in time and used full heal on me... of course i healed Zodiark to full health again. Almost rage quitted...
Yiazmat and his 50 million HP were worse than Zodiark to me. At least Zodiark doesn't take half a day to beat; the only issue is Darkja. You either know how to deal with it or you just lose. It's that simple.
Zodiark was definitely Hardee than yiazmat. Yiazmat is a major chore but you can do hit and run tactics with him. It took me several attempts but nowhere near the amount for zodiark. Getting to zodiark was a nightmare especially enemies that can already one hit kill you (crushing fangs). The zodiark fight is such a troll fight. First of all I didn't know that he was weak to holy. Which is interesting because he is a holy esper with dark attacks. That disease rebuff melee attack is so fucking stupid because he can be extremely far away and still hit you with it. Then darkja was so powerful that alot of times it killed me or blinded everyone. And the worst part about that fight is the 2 or 3 buffs that he does when he is at low health which makes him immune to magic and physical damage. So now it's a waiting game trying to survive his onslaught of attacks until you wait for the buffs to go down which takes forever!!!! Then when it does go down you only have I think 10 seconds to do enough damage to kill him. And if you don't do it in time, the buffs come back and you might as well start over. You have to chain ultimates in that window otherwise that's game over. God!!! I hated that cheap bastard so much 😒 😑.
In FFXV the adamantoise took me 2.5 hours to beat. I didnt die, mind you, i kept spamming the warp strike with ragnarok. But that took so long to do... meanwhile years after playing FFIV on the ds... i still have yet to beat Proto-Babil
That was the only boss in that game that almost made me quit the game. I went and leveled everyone up to 99 sphere points and then steamrolled through him. But I hated that story boss forced me to spend quite some time leveling on that damn mountain lol
Bahamut on FF mode in 16 is very fun, but not difficult, but every boss is amazing is final fantasy games. The artists that make these dont get enough credit for the beauty they bring into our world
Three Judges from FFXII The Zodiac Age Trials for me. So much strategy involved and you could start it already at a disadvantage with negative effects received from the previous trial.
No you're completely correct. They went with the most popular/ most known fights rather than the actual answers fans would give you. Like Ruby over Emerald or the Judges over Yizamat. Or Adamatoise even being listed
Even with six seitengrats courtesy of RNG manipulation and x4 speed, it took me roughly an hour to beat the last two judges alone. I couldn’t keep sleep applied consistently, so I relied on brute force and the occasional quickening chain to overcome their elixirs with sheer DPS. Was it optimal? Absolutely not. But it worked, and that’s what matters. That being said, trying to clear trial mode without changing gambits besides swapping attack for magic on the Chaos stage or enabling a reverse-decoy gambit on Omega’s was a painful experience.
I don't agree that Kefka succeeded in his goals, and he didn't actually "Destroy" their world but instead made it hardly inhabitable. Not a true devastation IMO. KUJA is the ONLY villain to actually destroy the existence or begin the actual destruction of existence. As the party has to defeat Necron in order to reverse Kuja destroying the crystal. I love Kefka, but i'm tired of people throwing that nonsense that he's the only successful villain is regards to total destruction. He's not, was stopped before Monument of nonexistence could happen. Kuja's doings actually had to literally be undone by Necron. Kuja actually destroys the crystal when you "Beat him" and therefore killed the party and everyone else that existed because of the crystal. Necron, found existence to be a failure and was going to snuff it out. But your party has half of its members give their remaining spirits to help fight him. You win and then Kuja's destruction gets undone. Kuja is the only successful villain to the point of ACTUALLY achieving total destruction.
Ahhh, back when Omega and Shinryu were considered incredibly difficult to beat. Now they seem like total pushovers compared to the likes of Ruby Weapon or even Absolute Virtue
Adamantoise in FF15 can take upwards to an hour to beat? It took me over 4 hours lol. My level was in the 80’s but I played it safe I guess. It’s also the only super boss in the FF series I actually battled.
Yiazmat sticks in my mind as the toughest. After dying a few times near the end of the battle, I learned a way to set up my party to autofight it (in 80 minutes I think?) with minor adjustments at certain points while did other things like dishes and laundry. Emerald Weapon sticks out in my mind from when I used to provide tips to my navy suitemate next door. He came out of a fight near the sub dock with XX77 hitpoints on Barret. I immediately instructed him on how to set up Lucky 7s and sent him to the sub. His excitement turned to dread when after a few minutes Emerald stomped the party and ended the melee. I'll never forget him losing and thanking me for the great idea. I used to waste time trying to manipulate my hitpoints and force this situation so that I wouldn't have to sit through this fight. It still pisses me off that I wasted time on a strat that doesn't work. 😂
The hardest "Boss" for me was FFXVs Pitioss Ruins... Nothing made me die and start over as much as this place😂 took me 9 hours to beat it🥲 Adamantoise of XV also took several hours but not because it was so difficult (it's actually a really easy Fight) but because it had so many HP😮💨 In FFX I never even tried to get to Richter.. still have problems with the Monster Farm creations and dark summons but one day I'll do it xD
Emerald Weapon can be made so much easier if you get the Underwater Materia...which is literally all it's used for. Equip that and you have an infinite time limit. I'm sure this list is probably not taking "preparation" into consideration, though.
Did Omega in Final Fantasy XV not count? I found that to be much, much tougher than adamantoise, who was quite the cakewalk when you use the ring of the Lucii.
Adamantoise is not the hardest boss in XV, like not even at all. That goes to either MA-X Angelus or, even more so, in the Royal edition, Omega. This feels like it wasn’t written by a person who actually played the game.
I thought Ozma was pretty easy, and Ruby Weapon is much harder than Emerald. I never fought Adamantoise in XV I'll have to try that next time I play it!
I dont find Ozma to be easy at least not on the ps version. Hes a bitch if you dont have defences against his status effects and metor is a annoying attack that you just have to hope misses
Yiazmat is easy because you can just run in and out of the arena as many times as you want. Omega Mark was harder, way less HP and stuff, but I would say it was harder.
The hardest boss for me was Emerald weapon, but the longest boss is a no brainer : yazmat of FF 12 (I've the original game, not the Zodiac Age), in a strange way it's even the simplest, you need to set the right gambits, start the fight, and then go to bed until next morning.
Kaius (FF13-2), Ardyn (FF15), and technically Vayne (FF12) all succeeded in at least one of their major plans... And given how Stranger of Paradise ended, might be able to add another villain that technically won.
Ruby Weapon was exponentially harder than Emerald Weapon. And Yiazmat was not the hardest one boss in FF12. Even though it's an Esper, the fight with Zodiark is way more difficult.
Villains who also acheived their goal were: Barthandelus destroying Cocoon (technically) Caius killing Etro to create a timeless world Ardyn sending the world into darkness Kefka was just the first
The hardest boss for me was Dr Lugae (ff4 Ds). I had no problem with the first part of the fight but the second part where you just fight Dr Lugae alone was torture. I don't care what you say that fight is completely based on RNG(like most fights). I always had bad luck. This took me years to beat. I just give up for a while then tried again a few weeks later. If you want my advice have Rosa cast slow on lugae and cecil cast shell, then have rydia cast fire on your party( if reversed) untill Lugae cast the reverse. When that happens, have yang, cecil and kain always attack and keep spamming ramuh with rydia once it's ready. Oh, and keep healing with Rosa. Before the fight make sure to equip yang with thunder claws(if you have them). I was gonna put scarmiglione (ff 4 ds) here but looking back that guy was easy as pie.
Controlling Ignis also makes it fairly quick. His three elemental debuffs wear away at its HP(admittedly, this might not even be a factor), and his Fire Total Clarity attack can hit for frankly ridiculous damage if you have his damage multiplier maxed out, which isn’t very difficult to do. Ignis can also hit at its elemental weakness without needing to actually use magic. Switching between lightning to close the gap when it moves, ice for the bulk of your damage, and fire when Total Clarity is ready is by far the most optimal way I’ve found to kill this thing without resorting to the ring.
Yiazmat taking an hour is massive cap, that fight took literal hours to finish, as well as 4-5 town visits in between lol. Granted everyone was around lvl 70 ish
1. Kefka isn't the only villain to achieve their goals, fairly certain Ardyn achieved exactly what he set out to do. 2. For Emerald Weapon's timer, Underwater Materia exists. 3. Not sure I would give toughest boss in 10 to Penance he's just a bullet sponge when it comes down to it. Just keep focusing Penance's arms and he's a cakewalk. I feel like Nemesis is more punishing he just has less HP. 4. Yiazmat is the same as Penance to me; just a bullet sponge not really difficult. There are plenty of other enemies, even normal ones, that are more punishing with their mechanics.
FF7 Emerald Weapon, i managed to defeat it luckily. I didn't know how i did it but i remembered using 4x Cut and Omni Slash to defeat it. For me, Ruby Weapon is harder but people told that there was a trick to defeat it but at that time i didn't know that trick. =))
I like Ozma from Final Fantasy IX after Chocobo Hot & Cold and Friendly Monsters. The party should equip Antibody, Auto-Haste, Auto-Life, Auto-Reflect, Auto Regen, Bright Eyes, Clear Headed, Jelly and Loudmouth. The party should have a proper armor to absorb or nullify Ozma's Shadow attack to keep battling. Use Eiko Carol in case Phoenix revives the party automatically.
i heard that there's a way to avoid the 20 minute time limit on Emerald weapon... ok, i looked it up. in one area near the "underwater reactor" you can encounter a strange enemy called a "ghost ship". FINISH it off with a "Morph Materia" and you get a"guide book". this is quite tricky, the easiest way to do it is to quip Yuffie with the Morph and the "conformer" weapon. give the Guide Book to the "Kalm Traveler" and you get an "underwater materia". have THAT equipped when fighting Emerald and there is no time limit.
Yup it was only annoying cause it had alot of hp and if you accidentally warp too far you would have to restart the fight it shouldnt even be considered a hard fight.
@@KiteSkies it happened to me by accident. Idk if it was ever fix because I played this game back at launch. I was trying to teleport to his head to attack snd for some reason it choose like a far off raidi tower thing shit that lets you recover the mp and It was too far off and boom fight needed to be restarted
I really feel like mmo bosses shouldn't be added on this list. Its a whole different type of game like I play wow a lot and I would say that a lot of the bosses I have fought are harder then most single player games on this list and that's the point it's an MMO its supposed to get 10-20 people to use there brains together not just yourself
Also, Ozma is the ONE fight where you're forced to deal with RNG manipulation, or end up having a random chance to even win. It's mainly hard cause of his randomness. One bad Meteor use, then Curse right after you auto-life is game over... And he can even use it on TURN ONE before you get to take a turn if you don't manipulate his AI.
Its only hard if you havent completed and obtained the friendly monster’s blessings. But not impossible. If u do beat ozma before you encounter the friendly yan, its response will be like “holy shit u beat the round guy!?!”
I Absolutely Love Facing Off Against Emperor Mateus in Final Fantasy 2, Cloud of Darkness in Final Fantasy 3, Exdeath in Final Fantasy 5 and Kefka Palazzo himself in Final Fantasy 6 from my Childhood Years
Ruby Weapon is definitely the harder fight. Emerald Weapon's 20 minute timer is moot if you Morph the Ghost Ship enemy into an Underwater Materia, and you can make his Materia Storm (can't remember the name but that is what it actually is) will deal 1,111 HP damage per Materia equipped, so if you have two Materia equipped, have full 9,999 health, and are fully healed? You get a free Lucky 7's attack. I also beat Penance, and basically all the Dark Aeons, with Zanmato from Yojimbo. Yeah, I don't have the patience for couple hundred hours of the Stat Sphere grinding, but I felt a few dozens hours of grinding with Rikku's Celestial Weapon with Gillionaire, to make enough money to do so. It was cheesy, but was worth it. Lastly, Yiazmat was easier to beat in Zodiac Age if you get the Great Trango and Gendarme, as well as being able to break the damage limit
"The unending coil of Bahamut remains far more defeatable than absolute virtue did in its original form" To put in simply: No. Absolute Virtue from FFXI was absolutely nothing difficult compared to what we know from modern MMOs like the mythic raid end bosses on World of Warcraft or the Ultimate difficulty of FFXIV. In reality it was designed to be impossible to defeat and the developers never really admitted it. They even released a video of them trying to defeat it to show players how to do it, but it was more suspicious than anything else. The boss was just extremely poorly designed and had absurd stats that made it impossible to kill. A myth has been created around this boss but the reality is much less pleasing. In comparison WoW and especially the Ultimate bosses in FFXIV are unbelievably difficult. If you don't play them, you probably don't even realise the gap that separates Absolute Virtue from the bosses of these two games in terms of complexity or what they can demand from players in terms of rigour, reflexes and resilience. The skill of players doing high level raiding on these two games has reached an insane level and neither Absolute Virtue nor Pandemonium Warden (the other superboss of FFXI) well-designed would be able to resist very long nowadays. Regarding Bahamut Ultimate, yes the boss was extremely difficult but there is more to it. It's already been mentioned in other comments but "Dragonsong Ultimate" is probably the hardest fight in the game right now and probably one of the hardest fights ever created for a video game. For those of you who don't know, imagine taking part in a fight that sends boosted versions of the toughest bosses you've ever faced one after the other, all the while juggling the 20-30 spells of your class with great precision and synchronizing with your 7 teammates. This requires a lot of concentration for 20 minutes, knowing that the slightest attack that hits you or one of your teammates when it's not supposed to will probably instantly decimate the group and send you all back to the starting point. So no, Bahamut is no longer the hardest in FFXIV, but it's still infinitely harder than Absolute Virtue would have been if it had been killable in its original state, if the developers had wanted it to be, which it wasn't. :)
Final Fantasy 1 warmech.. I will always remember my game I did at one point where I faced 2 in same playthrough one right after the other in the walking distance of.. 1 single square..
But it also takes so much more effort than it takes to play the game casually. I think Emerald and Ruby Weapon was a turning point not only in JRPG’s but for the scope of optional bosses and content in games. It’s a shame there’s zero fandom toward these two legends, probably because most people’s inner child are afraid of them.
@@brandonweiss8364 i hated Emerald weapon, the bastrad got in my way when i was exploring in the submarine 😆 🤣 There i was ony first playthrough all excited to explore using the sub, then i got ambuahed and one shotted by Emerald weapon 😆 🤣
I chuckled at the comment section. Absolute Virtue was a God among Bosses. This guy was truly difficult and doesn’t compare to any other Boss. If you think 2 Hours was long for a Boss fight, then you would not even be able to fathom this guy. Not only that, but just the Notorious Monsters you had to fight to obtain items to spawn him, and his spawn rate wasn’t even 100%. He would spawn immediately after a hard Notorious Monster leaving you vulnerable. I would rank Absolute Virtue as THE hardest Boss in Video Game history.
I agree with you. Alot lf people agree with you. He had the world record years ago; not sure if he still does. Anyway, here is a video about it, for people interested in a mote detailed lore: m.ruclips.net/video/aaiZCZ0HY1w/видео.html
I can agree with a lot on this list, but I would change a few... FF3: Iron Giant FF4: Proto-Babil FF13: Vercingetorix I know for 3 and 4 those bosses weren't in the original games so I'm not sure if that is why they weren't chosen or if you never actually got around to fighting them, but those three are undoubtedly the hardest for each game. Although with Iron Giant, he's really not that hard if you know what you're doing. It's just more of a chore to beat him because the game literally REQUIRES you to be at a super high level, which is why I don't even bother with him... I just find it tedious to run around for hours post-game leveling up when there is literally no pay off to beating him... like maybe if you got some good accessories and there was a New Game+ then it would make sense. But nope, nothing lol. Other than that Metal Card which is literally just proof that you defeated him.
FF1: Warmech, agree FF2: Emperor, agree FF3: Cloud of Darkness, agree / Iron Gisnt in DS Port FF4: Zeromus, agree / Proto-Babil in DS port FF5: Omega, HARD disagree on Neo Exdeath choice / Omega Mark II in GBA port FF6: Come on, we all know the hardest boss battle in FF6 is a random encounter: Brachiosaur FF7: Ruby instead of Emerald FF8: Omega Weapon, agree FF9: Ozma, agree FF10: Penance, agree FF11: Absolute Virtue, AGREE 100%, THE MOST BASTARD BOSS IN AN MMO EVER, ALONG PANDEMONIUM WARDEN IN FF11 AND C'THUN IN WOW FF12: Vanilla PS2 Zodiark, though I get why Yiazmat is chosen. Yiazmat is just long, but there are strats to beat it consistently. Zodiac Job System version in PS2, and, as a consequence, Zodiac Age Remaster later, have included OP weapons like Seintengrat, and Break Damage Limit too, so they kinda nullify the challenge some bosses pose. The Judges, while extremely hard and having the context of 99 back to back battles in Trial Mode, can be cheesed out. Still a close 2nd to Vanilla PS2 Zodiark, that bastard killed me over and over and over and over again, I don't know how I beat it, but I did. Darkja is one of the most bullshit moves ever in FF. BTW, no Break Damage Limit, Seitengrat and/or QoL features in Vanilla PS2 FF12. FF13: Long Gui, agree FF14: DRAGONSONG'S REPRISE, BY FAR, BC OF HIGHER SKILL LEVEL ON PLAYERBASE COMPARE TO RELEASE UCOB. HARD DISAGREE HERE. FF15: Not enough info to judge from my part.
Final fantasy XIII - Vercingetorix is harder with its insane speed, ability to deal multiple status ailments, dispel your buffs, periodic invulnerability + regen, really prone to interrupting your characters actions and huge AoE damage with wicked whirl. Its attacks also change pattern as it get weaker which I found to be way more of a challenge than long gui who is susceptible to poison so once you inflict poison on it after disabling its legs it’s basically a punching bag. Its attack pattern is super easy to read so you can switch to the tortoise paradigm to soak up the damage. It’s also super slow. It just has a ton of HP but because it takes longer to get up than all other oretoises the poison will whittle away at its health in no time
Brachiosaur in FF6 is a normal enemy, but it is harder to defeat using normal attacks than any boss outside of Kaiser & Omega dragons. Vanish X-zone is the only way to defeat Brachiosaur easily
Nah. Ruby is easy. Just use dazers. It never gets a hit in. Emerald isn’t too hard either but there is always a chance that emerald gets a double stomp in. Ruby never gets to make a move. Just dazers then KOTR. Repeat.
Only if you make it hard. It's got some serious cheese flaws. Kill off 2 party members, wait until he gets his hands into the ground, then just keep throwing dazers at it. Revive the other 2 members. Kill. Emerald is immune to everything. You can make it easy by mega grind KOTR and mome and getting the master materia, but that's nowhere near as easy as setting up for Ruby.
to be honest, i think that in final fantasy XV Omega is the hardest boss of them all, he only appears in chapter 14 in a specific location, is lvl 120, is insanely tanky and can easily one shot you, it can take you up to 1 or 2 hours to beat, if you know where exactly to hit
1 - I can agree with Warmech. 2 - I found the Emperor to be a cake walk, of course I had everyone with level 16 drain. 4 - Tiamat gave me a harder time than Zeromus. 5 - Omega 6 - No one 7 - Ruby Weapon 8 - Yea, I can agree with Omega. 9 - Yes, Ozma. 10 - I guess if I'm not using summons, then Penance. 12 - Definitely Yiazmat, if reverse and decoy aren't always active. 13 - Doomherald.... ugh. 15 - I can agree with adamantoise just for how long it takes to beat the thing.
The crazy thing about Adamantoise the developers had originally put this massive boss fight at a 72 hour boss battle. So it would take players 3 days to take down this massive beast. But since the developers patched that up because on health reasons. They down sized that boss to only a hour or more.
I beat Yiazmat with a decent setup. I wasn't maxed level or anything, but I realized that the the way i was setup, he couldn't KO my group. So i wedged my controller in a drawer to hold the X button down and checked in every so often. Even went fishing for an hour lol. I think it took about 7 hours.
Are they the hardest bosses? If you can cheese them maybe not. Adamantoise can be banished from existence, omega weapon is super easy if you dont level up the whole game, lucky 7's rip diamond weapon a new one...I suppose they are really hard to beat normally though.
Penance is absolutely the hardest boss I’ve ever fought. Even with the most optimal strategy, you have literal 0 room for error, or it’s a game over. That with the fact that it’s easily a 30-40 minute fight makes it super easy to mess up
it not that hard if you get super weapon with break damage limit that can hit 99999 every hit...but the problem is...to get that weapon is harder than defeat penance😅😅😅😅
What was the hardest boss you faced in a Final Fantasy game and how long did it take you to win? Let us know in the comments below.

Velius FFT.
If unprepared its a whole new save
Even with max stats (255)
Funny thing thing is, once i learned her attacks and stuff, i farmed her somewhat for the pheonix downs and levels😂
Never played more than half of these games due to limited systems, but...
Ruby, Emerald Weapon: never won
Omega Weapon (8): never won
Ultimecia: Probably half/half wins/losses
Giant of Babil (4): Never won (even with CHEATS!)
Zeromus (12): Won
I don't time anything so idk how long it took, but most I clearly didn't win.
I always felt that Ruby weapon was harder than fighting Emerald.
Because you basically have to fight Ruby solo due to either quicksand or killing everyone to avoid quicksand. Lol
@@denzelvilliers I always considered Pandemonium Warden to be harder than Absolute Virtue
The ACTUAL hardest bosses for the 4,5,6 games:
FF4: Zeromus EG, Lunar Bahamut
FF5: Enuo, Omega (Mk.2) , (Neo) Shinryu
FF6: Kaiser Dragon, Omega Weapon
I beat exdeath at lvl 39 so yea facts
People play FFV at levels higher than 39?
Lv80 to beat the game, lol what
The gba version has omega mark 2 and neo shinryu and enuo, with omega mark 2 being the hardest imo.
I came here to say this too
FFXV Adamantoise was actually incredibly easy because it basically doesn't attack you, it is just a damage sponge. The only time I failed the fight was because of a bug sending me flying so far that it de-aggroed the turtle and forced me to restart. Some of the other bosses had much less HP but were much harder to take down.
You can also kill it with the ring of lucil death spell.
@@chrisgonzalez5883Death just takes absolutely forever to reach the point of instantly killing it. Alterna(the ring’s other instant kill), on the other hand, could kill it in a single hit if you’re lucky.
Ômega is a way more difficult them Adamantoise actually
@@williamjhonata8178The Adamantoise is a spectacle. Omega is like trying to cross a bed of coals, only to be run over by a train halfway through.
@@chrisgonzalez5883 I just summoned one of the 6 lol
Penance was in the OG PAL version of FFX, remember defeating it eventually back in the day.
I second to this. Defeated him on ps2. Watchmojo didn't have PAL version before :D
My thoughts exactly. Beat him in the german PS2 version
I had 2 Versions for FFX on my Ps2, the first one didn't had Dark Aeons and Penance, the other one that i got Years later had 😔
For FF13 not many people have gotten to this super boss but Vercingetorix is definitely the hardest boss in the game for sure.
OMG trying to 5-star that mission is a nightmare. I hate that thing lol
Oh that fucker XD
Honestly the giant cactuar is the hardest for me. It has no reason being a class B mission yet vercinge i beat just by buffing, healing and poison and i won.
Vercingetorix is also the most fun fight in XIII1 imo.
I couldnt beat him, in his last phase he always kills me and I have like 15-20k hp
Phoenix and Hades then go hard on KOTR lol. Good times
Simply use the hardest to obtain stuff in the game. It's not easy l o l
Kaiser Dragon was way more Harder than kefka
and now TOP makes everything else look like a morning jog LOL
I was going to say on final fantasy 14, didn't they Nerf this boss because so many people in the beginning were having problems beating him because it took too long?
Ardyn achieved his goals too, he is basically a modern day Kefka, to the extent they both have a "World of Ruin" albeit Ardyn has his for many years, awaiting either his own demise (technically his salvation) or to ultimately end his cursed existence (which again, he wants to die, so either way, he's won)
So did Kuja for the most part
The same goes for caius form final fantasy 13.2 that guy has class
Great video.
You must all know that Yiazmat is special. Yiazmat's name alludes to director Yasumi Matsuno's nickname (Yazumi Matsuno). The additional "i" in Yiazmat's name is not present in the Japanese version, likely being a localization decision to associate it closer to "Tiamat."
The title of the hunt is "Farewell to a Legend," a reference to how Matsuno "left" the company before the game was completed, and the story Montblanc tells refers to how the development team felt about him, albeit with a different end.
he's hardly the hardest tho , he's mildly dangerous at best. just boasts silly HP
@@voidroad Exactly. You can beat him at very low levels if you're patient, because you can leave the fight to heal. Yiazmat is the absolute epitome of "bullet sponge".
Honorable mention:
Red Chocobo - Final Fantasy XIV
Something else about the Emerald Weapon, it had an attack that would hit each party member for 1111 damage multiplied by the number of materia equipped. 9 materia on each character = no-win scenario. 2 materia = the possibility of lucky 7s.
It's called Air-tam storm.
@@calebhall7691 just to be picky...Aire tam storm (Materia backwards)=)
@@Garland042 I never noticed that honestly...
Except I couldn't actually damage it with anything BUT KoTR itself and still needed 2 HP pluses mastered at lv 60 to have 9999 HP against it.
It took me 8 hours to beat Adamantoise. Non-stop, single, eight hour fight.
You do know if you just use the deathspell it only takes like 15 minutes
I wouldn't say it too loud
There are a ton of remake bosses and optional bosses that are significantly harder than the ones on this list. If a Final Fantasy game has optional bosses or has ever been re-released, you can safely assume that the hardest boss in the game is NEVER the final story boss.
Here’s a more accurate list. I’ve personally played through the games and defeated every boss listed here:
FFI: Chronodia (20th Anniversary Remake)
FFII: Deumion (20th Anniversary Remake)
FFIII: Iron Giant (DS Remake)
FFIV: Proto Babil (DS Remake)
FFV: Neo Shinryu
FFVI: Omega Weapon (GBA Remake)
FFVII: Ruby Weapon.
FFX: Penance
FFXII: The 5 Judges. Not as long as Yiazmat, but much harder.
(I haven’t played FFXIII)
FFXV: Omega. WAAAAAAAY harder than anything else in this game. You’re not really supposed to be able to die in FFXV and he legit burned through hundreds of items and actually killed me multiple times.
You haven’t played LR I guess but Bhunivelze+ is one of the hardest bosses in the entire series.
@@ColonelCarnage haven’t played XIII or LR yet so I’ll have to get to those and check it out and see where he ranks.
@@ColonelCarnagehim and feothanos at level 99 in revnant wings are the hardest final bosses in the series
From the FF13 trilogy:
- Long Gui from the first game is nuts.
I thought that bastard wants and he used his ultimate attack. Killed my party immediately
My first encounter with omega in 8 was exactly the same 😂
I managed to survive level 5 death but got wiped out by terra break the first few times i fought him, until rinoa finally used invincible moon then i survived it 😆 🤣
That was my favorite fight in the game!
Then for Omega Weapon, winning without holy war trials is possible if you summon Eden and throughout its animation, shuffle Selphie's Slot until you get The End. :)
you can beat him without hero's but it's really hard
In FF13 I found Vercingetorix to be a lot stronger than Long Gui or Shaolong Gui
Oh geez I’m gonna remember this that’s awesome
Use the ring!
i one shot it with the ring
I remember my friend raging badly at the ffX Seymour boss battle at gagazet Mountain. His dad came in to see what the commotion was about. His dad then started reading the stratagegy guide to him. I'll never forget that moment 😂
Dad's a bro
Truth, I find the battle against Lady Yunalesca to be the most aggravating in X. It's bad enough she spams you with Zombie/Curaga in her second form; if you AREN'T Zombified when she takes her third and final form, it's instant death
FFXV adamantoise can be done in 30 minutes with ring of the lucii, just have to keep recharging with warps to restore mp and spam hold. Still has insanely high health though and also depends on party level at the time, summons hardly do anything to it.
it is not even the hardest one. this goes to omega weapon in the insomnia ruins
@@blondafro4112 Even if you don't want to count Omega Weapon since it's DLC, there's that one daemon that is by one of the Empire's forts that can only be damaged with magic

The first 4 Final Fantasy games were made before I was even born. Thats insane how old this franchise is.

Yeah they obviously don’t know much about the series.
Not only that, but Ardyn managed to really fulfill his goal of revenge by being killed by Noctis in the Beyond, at the cost of Noct's life and the Crystal as well
Also Caius Ballad from FF XIII-2.

Kefka, Ardyn Lucis Caelum, Caius Ballad and the trio Venat-Vayne (to some extent) -Dr. Cid achieved their goals.
Neo Shinryu in FFV was probably the hardest I've fought so far. But he wasn't all that tough compared to some bosses in other games.
X attack dragon Lance auto wins
I always had max friendship with Yojimbo in FFX so 60% of the time he would use Zanmato straight away without any payment.... so I used this to my advantage to farm dark aeons (also one shots both Nemesis and Penance) to get equipment for every character with Break HP Limit, Ribbon and two free slots 😏👌
I would have to say Penance or the Dark Aeons from Final Fantasy X were the hardest bosses I ever faced.
So i agree, Penance is the worst.
penance vs 1 zanmato boy
@@me2632 You went with the Break HP Limit strat? Or just 9999 HP as max? Remember, Penance can be perfectly beaten with 9999 as Max HP
FF12TZA has the Trials, with the Judge Magisters at Stage 100 after Zodiark, Yiazmat and Omega. Love it.
Omega mark was not even hard tbh just have bubble belt I had a harder time with zodiak my first time fighting him. Yiazmat was a good challenge, fun with the right strategy
damn even the balfonheim trio was hard on trials🤣
@@brettiwejor5936The problem with Omega is that its likely you start the final stage with Berserc. Reverse and Decoy are a good strategy for Omega.
That judge fight was a doozy lol!!! Still can't get past it actually.
@@snuggie1849 Yep, and that would be "the right equipment" I mentioned! :)
I have the Ds version and now I'm kinda scared. I wanna get every enemy and bosses( optional too) so I can complete my beastiary. So wish me luck.
I think ruby weapon was much more difficult since you couldn't even dmg him unless two of your characters were dead or gone.
FF14 Ucob (Bahamut ultimate) isn't the hardest, everyone agrees TEA (Alexander Ultimate) and Dragonsong ultimate are much much harder
Or e8s🤣
It’s up for debate, I’ve seen people saying that UCoB is still one of the hardest things in the game even if it isn’t THE hardest after all. Though I’d say the REAL hardest boss is just trying to capture the rare creatures in island sanctuary. TO THE SEVENTH HELL WITH YOU ORNERY KARAKUL, MAKING ME WASTE MY NETS ON YOU.
I think on release UCOB was harder than the other two. However, I'm not an ultimate raider. Just a savage raider pleb
@@raisylvaine8398 Ornery Karakul was my first capture on the island, I didn't even catch a single Lost Lamb
true the dragonsong seems insane and long fight but also bahamut ultimate used to be the same as dragonsong back in days
Darkja spam is such a troll. Also no accesory deals with its instant ko bs. Even absorb dark gear doesn't help
Agreed, zodiark over yiazmat.
Seymour on Mt Ronso took me more tries than most endgame bosses ever did.
That was the only boss in that game that almost made me quit the game. I went and leveled everyone up to 99 sphere points and then steamrolled through him. But I hated that story boss forced me to spend quite some time leveling on that damn mountain lol
@@Vic-qp1gk I mean low key bro you don't gotta grind THAT much..or even near that much. Just learn how to cure Zombie status xD

it took me three months to beat Evrae
@@jubez187 I was young and didn't know about that haha
Bahamut on FF mode in 16 is very fun, but not difficult, but every boss is amazing is final fantasy games. The artists that make these dont get enough credit for the beauty they bring into our world
Agree, the fight with Bahamut is so beautiful and memorable, but I wish that they make an end-game super boss in FF16
Tell me you never played Final Fantasy without telling me you never played Final Fantasy…
For me, the only hard part about the Adamantoise was the fact that the game glitched and threw me out of range and I had to start all over.
I've heard several people say this.
Skills -> Quick Attack -> Skills -> Quick Attack -> Rikku’s overdrive -> Wakka’s Overdrive -> Entrust to Rikku -> Penance obliteration -> Dispel Skills -> Quick Attack -> Skills -> Quick Attack -> repeat
Literally when you fight penance
Nothing made me die and start over as much as this place😂 took me 9 hours to beat it🥲
Adamantoise of XV also took several hours but not because it was so difficult (it's actually a really easy Fight) but because it had so many HP😮💨
In FFX I never even tried to get to Richter.. still have problems with the Monster Farm creations and dark summons but one day I'll do it xD
Indeed
yap, Omega much stronger
The ozma of 9 was more a pain In the butt than other bosses in the floating garden
The hardest boss for me was Emerald weapon, but the longest boss is a no brainer : yazmat of FF 12 (I've the original game, not the Zodiac Age), in a strange way it's even the simplest, you need to set the right gambits, start the fight, and then go to bed until next morning.
Final Fantasy XIII-2’s Caius also succeeded in his plan so Kefka wasn’t the only one.
Even though it's an Esper, the fight with Zodiark is way more difficult.
yes kefka did destroy the world you live on, but Kuja also destroyed a whole planet as well.
Villains who also acheived their goal were:
Barthandelus destroying Cocoon (technically)
Caius killing Etro to create a timeless world
Ardyn sending the world into darkness
Kefka was just the first
Both Final Fantasy Villains who Shared a Common Goal: Destroying Their Worlds
I used Zanmato on Penance and Vanille's Death on Long Gui.
Ah the quick and easy if not extremely expensive (at least in yojimbos case lol) option
one thing minnsing : Omega in Final Fantasy XV . he is a lot strongher than adamantoise
Unending Coil is harder than Dragonsong Reprise?
DSR is way worse than ucob any day xD
I'm surprised that Ex-Death's final battle was such that neither Omega nor Shinryu made it on the roster!
Adamantoise is a guaranteed 30+min fight, tedious more than difficult
Just spam alterna
I managed to beat it inside 7 minutes, use the ring of luci and it’ll get absorbed
Omega in FFXV was far harder than Adsmantoise
You say kefka was the only one to achieve his goals? Hah! Caius from XIII-2 literally got what he wanted AND destroyed the universe
Same thing here, I easily defeated emerald weapon, had a harder time with Ruby
I like Ozma from Final Fantasy IX after Chocobo Hot & Cold and Friendly Monsters. The party should equip Antibody, Auto-Haste, Auto-Life, Auto-Reflect, Auto Regen, Bright Eyes, Clear Headed, Jelly and Loudmouth. The party should have a proper armor to absorb or nullify Ozma's Shadow attack to keep battling. Use Eiko Carol in case Phoenix revives the party automatically.
And then get one shotted by meteor
@@LIONPRINCE2001 Hope the meteor attack is a miss.
With Ozma it isn't it's a one hit kill because Ozma always goes first
I dont like using reflect, its to much of a double edged sword when your party needs healing and reviving especially when you're using Eiko.
I just beat Ozma today without doing the friendly monsters quest
i heard that there's a way to avoid the 20 minute time limit on Emerald weapon...
ok, i looked it up.
in one area near the "underwater reactor" you can encounter a strange enemy called a "ghost ship".
The Adamantoise in FFXV wasn’t even challenging for the “hardest boss in the game”, it just took a long time to bring it down cuz of its massive HP.
and while it could deal some massive damage, the attack rate was so slow that it didn't matter
Yup it was only annoying cause it had alot of hp and if you accidentally warp too far you would have to restart the fight it shouldnt even be considered a hard fight.
Plus you can wear the Magitek Suit while fighting it. It’s one of the few super bosses that still can’t do damage with it on.
@@nightwolf235 didn’t even know that, I never teleported too far lol

This should've been called "Top 10 longest boss fights while using a strategy guide in Final Fantasy"
Every 'Couldn't steal anything' boss is the hardest.
I Absolutely Love Facing Off Against Emperor Mateus in Final Fantasy 2, Cloud of Darkness in Final Fantasy 3, Exdeath in Final Fantasy 5 and Kefka Palazzo himself in Final Fantasy 6 from my Childhood Years
For me Omega Mk in FFXII was harder than Yiasmat 😂
THANK YOU
Ruby Weapon is definitely the harder fight.
"The unending coil of Bahamut remains far more defeatable than absolute virtue did in its original form"
To put in simply: No.
Emerald weapon really isnt too difficult especially if you spend the little bit of time it takes to get rid of the timer
@@brandonweiss8364 i hated Emerald weapon, the bastrad got in my way when i was exploring in the submarine 😆 🤣

For the zeromus fight I cast reflect on rydia and Cecil and most attacks were just reflected back and helped me beat zeromus pretty quickly.
FF3: Iron Giant
FF4: Proto-Babil
FF13: Vercingetorix
I know for 3 and 4 those bosses weren't in the original games so I'm not sure if that is why they weren't chosen or if you never actually got around to fighting them, but those three are undoubtedly the hardest for each game.
FF1: Warmech, agree
FF2: Emperor, agree
FF3: Cloud of Darkness, agree / Iron Gisnt in DS Port
FF4: Zeromus, agree / Proto-Babil in DS port
FF5: Omega, HARD disagree on Neo Exdeath choice / Omega Mark II in GBA port
FF6: Come on, we all know the hardest boss battle in FF6 is a random encounter: Brachiosaur
FF7: Ruby instead of Emerald
FF8: Omega Weapon, agree
FF9: Ozma, agree
FF10: Penance, agree
FF11: Absolute Virtue, AGREE 100%, THE MOST BASTARD BOSS IN AN MMO EVER, ALONG PANDEMONIUM WARDEN IN FF11 AND C'THUN IN WOW
FF12: Vanilla PS2 Zodiark, though I get why Yiazmat is chosen.
FF13: Long Gui, agree
FF14: DRAGONSONG'S REPRISE, BY FAR, BC OF HIGHER SKILL LEVEL ON PLAYERBASE COMPARE TO RELEASE UCOB.
Cool video but you forgot 10-2 and 13 sequels just saying
Gotta disagree with the FF7 choice. Emerald Weapon isn't a problem if you have the Underwater Materia equipped. Ruby Weapon is a little trickier.
That's not the problem with Emerald. The problem with Emerald is the attack that does damage equal to how much materia you have equipped
Ff15 adamantoise can be cheesed with a one shot with the ring you may miss a few times trying to land the move but when it lands it lands
Ruby weapon is much harder
@@The_Fanatical_Centrist wow, I've never used the dazer trick..... and I've beat this game like 15 times.....now I know :)
Every final fantasy game, leaves out 10-2, 13-2 and lightning returns lol
LR had one of the toughest bosses in the series too
@@ColonelCarnage finally a man of taste lol
to be honest, i think that in final fantasy XV Omega is the hardest boss of them all, he only appears in chapter 14 in a specific location, is lvl 120, is insanely tanky and can easily one shot you, it can take you up to 1 or 2 hours to beat, if you know where exactly to hit
Ff5 Omega Weapon & shinryu
Ff7 Ruby Weapon
Ff10-2 Oversouled Chac
Ff12 Omega Mk 7
Rest i'd agree with.
1 - I can agree with Warmech.
2 - I found the Emperor to be a cake walk, of course I had everyone with level 16 drain.
4 - Tiamat gave me a harder time than Zeromus.
5 - Omega
6 - No one
7 - Ruby Weapon
8 - Yea, I can agree with Omega.
Omega is waaaaay harder than Adamantoise on XV
Are they the hardest bosses? If you can cheese them maybe not. Adamantoise can be banished from existence, omega weapon is super easy if you dont level up the whole game, lucky 7's rip diamond weapon a new one...I suppose they are really hard to beat normally though.
Penance can also be killed instantly in ffx with Yojimbos Zanmato if you have the money and the luck
@@AhmadFadhlibinMahjuddinI'm pretty sure you never went against penance lol
@@ersj000 nope... But i saw my friend did it....and make me jealouse, 😅😂
