When my nephew was first diagnosed with diabetes, I got him to start doing the "happy walk" daily and stop drinking sugary drinks. Within a month, he lost 20 pounds and was taken off the diabetes medicine. One year and four months later, he is still doing it. I'm so proud of him and appreciate your help.

My job has me sitting for 9 hours a day. I've also been a little depressed with the passing of my Bride just over a year ago. I strongly dislike going to a public place to "workout" especially when I have no idea what I am going. So today I came across this walking series and I started with the beginners video and it was Fun for me. To be able to be in my own home and exercise without feeling "less than" is a huge step for me. I am 53 yo and at 300 lbs, I have to start somewhere.

Hey John, how's it going? It's been about 8 mos since you posted, just wondering if you were able to start and keep the momentum up? I'm going to start, I have a sedentary job, I'm in my late 40s and around 300 lbs. I'm thinking this is better than not doing anything, and I have 15 min a day and am physically able to do this. I'm motivated to try... I wonder if you're still doing it and what its been like for you the past 8 mos? Feeling better?

Hi I'm an old fan of Leslie too and there is also another lady who might be great for you to follow when you're a bit larger person or have any limitations. The Sit and Be Fit series and it is on youtube as well. These two ladies were my go-to for years and great for working with folks with limitation in their lives. Neither course needs more than a simple chair, a ball and maybe an old towel and a broom handle. I use water bottles to add extra to my arm workouts and you can move to sand to make it harder as you build your strength. wish you best and you can do this. No membership required and you can find things around your house to add to the workout. Great for those of us on limited incomes.

A little less than 20 years ago I was 225 lbs at a height of 5'1". I began with Walk Away the Pounds and in about a month had lost 20 lbs. Upon changing my menu and eating habits a couple of times I lost 40 more pounds within a 3-4 month period. I added more and different exercise.
I don't know what my weight is now but I've gained so it's time again to Walk Away the Pounds. The fact is it works and Leslie's encouraging and supportive words make the difference.

@Nisha and all, exercising now is a gift to your older self. It not only keeps your bones strong, it is one of the highest remedies for mental well being. I used to be an athlete and now I'm in my mid 60's and have MS so it's hard for me to get going because of fatigue. (Exercise is also one remedy for fatigue!) So, I'm with you in the struggle to commit but we can do this!! I actually try to smile because I learned that smiling changes your body chemistry too! Big blessings!

I started working out with Leslie about ten years ago. I joined a gym and didn't workout with her anymore. So when the gyms closed I started working out with Leslie again and OMG. I'm so happy. I've got more energy, I'm toned and have lost inches and pounds. With the high.s and low.s I am experiencing with this Covid the workouts helps so much. Even though my gym is charging me, I'm not ready to go back yet. And yes I tell a lot of my friends about her workout videos, all I hear is excuses. I thank God for Leslie and her beautiful team of walkers. Enough I've got to go do work.

I love Leslie and her walking programs. I had all of her DVDs at one time. More than a few years and more than a few pounds have happened since then. Now I have a bad knee and hip. Work from home at a desk job. The treadmill is boring and elliptical is too much for my knee. So I decided to go back to these lower impact walks a few times a week to get moving again. It seems to get the fluids moving in my joints again, and even my bad knee feels better for several hours afterwards. When I worked these walks several years ago I lost 60 pounds. If I can lose a few now, at my age of 67, it will benefit these painful joints immensely. Thanks Leslie, for helping us to take care of ourselves🙂
