I’ve gotten over it now, but mines got stolen a little over two months ago. I was so pissed. Not only was it my main means of getting around from work store etc but it was an outlet. The part that really gets me is that either there gonna strip it for parts or just mess it up really bad. I really don’t understand people. But I will be getting another one hopefully by the end of this year.

There's lot of information from articles to RUclips videos covering just about everything you can do. Security: disk lock alarm (on rear disk), chain (at least 13mm, and chain it to something not just the bike), alarm (doesn't have to be expensive one just a Chinese ones work decently), ground anker (at home if you have a garage or drive), tracker. Gear: always all the gear possible incase you crash or someone crashes into you. Helmet (look at sharp helmets website, it tests loads of helmets and give them a rating not just a yes or no like ece or snell. Really useful) jacket, gloves, kevlar/leather/textile trousers, shin high motorcycle boots. Get some good quality protection pads in all important areas, elbows, shoulders, back, hip and knee joints. If it's hot where you live get ventilated gear. If people don't wear much gear and they come off they will get major road rash along with possible broken bones. Injuries that can last a lifetime. Look up MotoJitsu on youtube on safe riding he's an excellent teacher on how to be safe on the road and be a better rider.

Rode a bike for the first time, Maan I am hyped af dude the feeling of the leg coming of the ground while you feel the air on your face and your heart racing and the sound of that engine it's fucking amazing , wasnt wearing a helmet, not trying to be cool just wasn't available
If ye got a really expensive one (let's say Multistrada) it would be vise to install an alarm with GPS locating device. It won't help you in Sweden where cops are bound by dumbest laws ever (we can't help you because this would affect the privacy of the person wrongly accused of theft - or something like that), but at least you will know whose house to burn with a molotov after a warning with a brick through a window. And a good insurance will cover your lost bike (and you'll get your sweet revenge :P)

Very happy customer with Progressive! My supermoto got stolen and they paid nada value for it (same as what I paid for it) plus 2100 in the accessories I had. Didnt give me any hassle about it. I pay $30/month for a 2016 yz450fx supermoto and $85 for a financed 2018 r6. Both have 3k in accessories coverage. Im 21, two car accidents, no tickets.
Good video! I liked the disc lock solution, affordable but does the job. I always lock my handle bars and take key with me, even if I'm just running into a store quick or sitting down for a slice of pizza and the bike is literally in my view. Of course, a pair or trio of thieves can still pick up the bike, but it won't roll in a straight line if the handle bars are locked. I think I'm gonna look into getting a disc lock with audible alarm now that I saw one :) I have a private house with a garage where I store my bike, I just need something quick and easy when I'm out and about.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll look into the key fob idea. Also, I’ve had Progressive Insurance and have been extremely happy with them. And I’m not trying to advertise, just stating my experience.
I've been here long enough to remember the stolen bikes. Was so happy for you when you finally had your own garage to keep them out of a parking garage!
There's really only 3 security items that are most effective: Alarm, chain, and insurance. The others mentioned are nice to have but in my experience are only deterrents to amateur thieves. Another thing to look into is a private garage if available to you.
A free one that 99% of bikes come with is your steering lock, on it's own it might not be the best solution. However, combining it with a disc lock will make it a great security set up. Speaking of disc locks, I would advise moving the lock behind you forks so that way you have very little room to move the bike forward in the event forgetful you hopped on the bike before taking it off or a thief moves it without realizing it, your disc brake will thank you!
Putting a steering lock is the worst thing you could do, it takes 5 seconds to break and it’s 1000£ plus worth of damage. I learnt this the hard way as I got my motorcycle stolen and recovered, the mechanic said it would have been cheaper for me to repair if I just didn’t put a steering lock on as it is so easy to break and so expensive to replace or repair.
Combining a cable lock and a padlock through the brake disc has worked for me to date. Cable lock through the frame and a wheel and around something immobile. A thief would need two tools to cut through both locks quickly and effectively. Cable cutters for cable and bolt cutters for the padlock. Chase, something you didn't mention was GPS tracking systems which aid greatly for recovering the bike after its stolen, and hopefully catching the thief.
Have you ever tried to cut steel cable with bolt cutters? Bolt cutters work well on padlocks or chains. You need cable cutters to cut through a cable quickly, hence why you use both at the same time.
I have thee bikes, and lock all three together with 1,000$ worth of chains, and they each have a solid U lock with alarm systems built into them. Moving one bike will trigger all three alarms. That’s 110db sound just for each of the U locks. I also have 3 separate alarms under the seats 🤪. I wonder what 6 alarms with 110db would do to someone’s hearing ? Did I mention it’s in underground garage so it echos too.
Get a FIN (Find It Now) gps tracking device. It’s extra $$ but I can be at work and pull out my phone and open the FIN app and boom it shows me EXACTLY where my Zx10r is sitting. I love it!
i agree with u and im doing all the things u just said........cover the bike to less attract attention to thieves......2 disc alarm on both disc front and back 2x 120 decibels would be loud enough to hear......with gps inside the bike and a camera pointing to it.....all this things can be beaten by thieves but its a good delay and deterant to them.......until u can call the police or confront them. its better u have this things than never had it.
another good option with a cool factor is digital guard dawg keyless ignition... they make and easy plug and play from almost all motorcycles and gives you that cool 2021 honda cbr 1000rr-r style coolness having a remote key fob to power your bike and when you aren't next to your bike the bikes power is imobilized so no one can just drive a screwdriver down your ignition breaking the key socket and just turning it on that way and driving away
Damn it hurts to see this four days after I got robbed. I was at a parking lot commonly used to practise teaching a friend of mine how to ride and two dudes approached us with a gun in their hand. Pointed to me, I got off the bike and tried to run, fell to the ground and they shot. Missed by a few centimeters. Mine was the only bike without theft insurance, and of course that's the one they took.
I used the link to contact Progressive. Geico wanted $5000 a year to insure my new Aprilia Tuono 660, wtf...That is half the vehicle's value...Progressive just insured it for $550 a year! Whoa.
Theft is defently not something to over look, I've learned. I got an old 1981 kz440 with some rust. I have it parked in a parking garage with a couple of other newer and non rusty bikes. Well mine got stolen but was found about a week later
I personally use a throttle lock. It's noticeable and holds the brake so it stops movement just like a disc lock, but you don't have to bend over and fiddle with an alarm every time you wanna go riding.
i had a bad experience with progressive on my first motorcycle back in 2014. i had normal insurance rates and paid monthly, but totaled my first bike a few months in. my second bike went onto the same premium and all seemed well, but when it came time to renew, Progressive demanded that i prepay a full year's worth of insurance over the course of 30 days and also raised my premium rates to be above the cost that Progressive purchased my first bike from me when it was totaled. so my rates went from about 30$/month for a year to suddenly $6000 that needed to be paid with short notice. needless to say i instead switched companies and never looked back.
I legit thought you had ANOTHER bike stolen lol. I have progressive and they were so easy to work with when someone backed into my r3. Shout out to the good guy who left his contact info on a piece of paper I really send as much good karma his way.
I am surprised that I haven't heard of US-based GPS tracking and location systems companies that install these on motorcycles like where I live.. I pay like 5$ a month and an initial fee for the installation of the system and you get 24/7 GPS tracking of your bike and you can even track it on an app on your phone.
If you can chain it to something that would be the best and cheapest way to deter theft. I lived in an apartment complex where I had to keep the bike out in the parking lot. I took a very thick chain that I used for mudding and chained it to my Jeep that I kept as a secondary vehicle with a construction lock. Many times people have attempted to cut the chain but no one was successful since I always kept the chain tightly wrapped with no slack. This was a much cheaper solution than going out and buying a heavy duty bike lock. It didn't keep thieves from swiping my plate on it though unfortunately. They snapped it right off the bolts once.
I was fine until you said Progressive. They nearly ripped me off when I was in the process of getting my straight-out-of-the-crate '16 ZX10R almost 3 years ago
It depends on the bikes crash and theft stats and your zip code. If you live in High crime and it's a 1000 super sport track bike and you are under 35 it's gonna really hurt no matter who you roll with.
@@itsvash679 Yep, crash and theft stats, price your age location (crime stats again) and all sorts determine the price in some part. Then it depends on the insurer and current prices, they change constantly, shop around always.
@@itsvash679 They were going to charge me nearly $1000 a month. It was my 2nd bike while using my first one, an '06 FZ-6, for a trade-in, and I was insured with Progressive during those 5 months without incident. Certainly didn't feel justified being charged that much.
progressive is the best insurance for motorcyclists. my OMV was down for the past week and progressive worked with the state to get my claims and services through even thought the omv was down throughout my entire state.
A good tracker to locate the bike if you set a fence on the data you will receive an sms as soon as the bike is moved. A lock with alarm won't do anything passers-by won't get involved
don't use that bike-lock looking one with the chain, it's very easy to defeat, literally 2 seconds. i can probably pop it faster than you can get your key out for it, stick it in and turn
Got mine stolen today, absolutely sucks, had a bike cover and disc lock on but they still got into the apartment parking and yanked it away. Guess i should get an apartment where i can roll into in my unit.
never had a bike stolen but feel your pain, your best bet would be dont leave your bike in carparks or shopping centres. my bike is always withing eye shot of me unless im at work where it is parked out of site from prying eyes. i have installed a GPS tracker with battery backup good for 7 days without bike battery power. has its own sim card that sends a signal every thirty seconds to the bikes location. other tricks you can do is place razor blades under lifting points (just remember where you put them). but in the end if they want your bike they will have it. just keep it insured.
Nicee! It's been a while since Chase has made a video like this! #1 for sure world magic.. I've had my bike parked in my yard for a month and people kept asking me Where's my bike.. And the whoole time it was just covered. Haha
For me full cover insurance is the only good way to keep a bike save. Like yes it sucks but it means you get paired out and can get another one, a tracker would also be useful but is only good if it's accurate and you follow it immediately but saying that most semi decent thieves will find it quickly and remove it. The big chain and disc lock is not much of a deterrent as it's pretty easy and quick to cut them off.
I have a GPS tracker kit on my bike and on my truck that can be tracked from a phone and the police can track it I had my bike stolen one night and i just went and got it back the next morning and had the thief arrested he was still sleeping when I showed up with the cops lol
There is a bicycle alarm that I have been installing in my bikes that runs off its own AA batteries. The last for over a year and don't kill your main battery(as most bike alarms do). But insurance is really the only protection against the really bad guys.
my Street Triple stays in my garage when not riding. I have GEICO cause that is who my car is insured with. I have a disc lock I use IF i happen to stop somewhere and I can't see my bike
I had my bike stolen back in april. Now i got digital guard dawg ignition i doesnt stop carrying or towing away but they cannot just break my ignition and start it with a screw driver AGAIN
Tyler Watson Gieco is that way to go dude check it out, I pay 60 , my bike is financed, and I’m 25 and a first time rider on a 400 CC, also keep in mind most insurance companies insure based on whether or not there are a lot of fatalities on the bike, and if it is a “hooligan bike”
My r3 was $33 a month with progressive. Less than $20 I think for my 2016 yz450fx supermoto but my financed 2018 r6 is around $85. Second year riding. 2 accidents in a car. No tickets. 21yrs old. My yz250fx was stolen and they didnt give me any issues at all about paying for it. They paid full nada value (which was fair and was basically how much I paid for it to begin with) and I have up to 3k in accessories coverage on each bike so they covered the 2100 in parts I had on it (I had all receipts). Very happy with Progressive
Damn. My dream bike that i had for 1 month was stolen 2 weeks ago on my apartment complex. I have progressive for my car. But for bike it was over $4000 a year.
scorpio alarms sold out because they aren't restocking them cuz they aren't being bought they are horrible... they drain your battery... and in the event your battery isn't dead from it .... it doesn't work... had that same alarm on a bike and didn't stop them from taking it.
You should paint that bike chain a fluorescent color perhaps construction Orange. It's hard to see against your backdrop, like you say thieves are lazy and If they can't see it....
Curious. I had my motorcycle stolen by my landlord before I could even change the ownership over. If I was to insure it then make a theft claim. Would that even work? Or am I screwed. It took so long and, I saved up so hard and wanted a motorcycle and to ride one year before my time is up. Which turns out is short. The police didn't stop them before as they kept saying it is a Landlord Tenant matter even though I had moved out. They literally waited until we left with our moving trailer and when we came back for our 2nd load. They pad locked and sealed the garage and house. You think insurance will do anything at this point?
My R6 had a fat chain.... they cut the chain and stole it 😭. I didn’t have full coverage and the bike was never recovered. Your best bang for the buck is theft coverage insurance. Learn from my mistake...
I had my 2007 GSXR 1000 stolen from my driveway 4 years ago it was covered had disc locks on both wheels they simply just put it in a pickup truck or van. Absolutely the worst feeling ever but that was my fault for not having it locked to something immovable.
Getting your motorcycle stolen is like getting life force sucked out of you

Give it time mate. You’ll get there 🙂
Love the new format and great to see you back on the Super-sport side.

it is probably exaggerated, but he said he tried it in his house. And an alarm inside your house is definitely ear deafening
Actually 120db is the threshold of pain and will cause hearing damage over a short exposure time if you're not wearing hearing protection.
Well sound bounces inside of walls making sound louder than if it were outside in a wide open space, so maybe he's not exaggerating all that much.

A good tracker to locate the bike if you set a fence on the data you will receive an sms as soon as the bike is moved. A lock with alarm won't do anything passers-by won't get involved
A garage usually works. As well as a hidden battery kill switch
don't use that bike-lock looking one with the chain, it's very easy to defeat, literally 2 seconds. i can probably pop it faster than you can get your key out for it, stick it in and turn
Got mine stolen today, absolutely sucks, had a bike cover and disc lock on but they still got into the apartment parking and yanked it away. Guess i should get an apartment where i can roll into in my unit.
a bike cover and disc lock won't do anything to prevent them from picking it up. should have had a chain
never had a bike stolen but feel your pain,
your best bet would be dont leave your bike in carparks or shopping centres.
my bike is always withing eye shot of me unless im at work where it is parked out of site from prying eyes.
i have installed a GPS tracker with battery backup good for 7 days without bike battery power.
has its own sim card that sends a signal every thirty seconds to the bikes location.
other tricks you can do is place razor blades under lifting points (just remember where you put them).
but in the end if they want your bike they will have it.
just keep it insured.
Great choice of restaurant! Now I want chili dogs, onion rings, PC, and Frosted Orange!
Man I saw that in my notification I was like oh no Chase got his bike stolen again.
I don’t know I really like them blue wheels lol
There are alarms you can get that can track your motorcycle if it does get stolen. Available in the UK and Ireland don't know about the US though
MT07 got stolen from my carport while I was at work today. Hope insurance replaces it and I can implement all of these options on the new bike.
Great tips Mr TwoWheels. The “hamburgler” scenes cracked me up. 👍🏼 🙉🙈🙊 🍔 😎
The beginning when the guy steals his bike got me dead😂
A tracker wasn't even mentioned?? The best last resort device!!
With remote engine kill option
It was mentioned. It's expensive though
Thanks for the video, boss man.
I love this guy
Yeah I go to the varsity to get a burger lol.Only orange freeze ,onion rings and yellow jacket dogs
I park my bike outside. With a disc lock & cover it with a Walmart bike cover & never had an issue, KNOCK ON WOOD ! 🤞🏼
I have a GPS tracker kit on my bike and on my truck that can be tracked from a phone and the police can track it I had my bike stolen one night and i just went and got it back the next morning and had the thief arrested he was still sleeping when I showed up with the cops lol
I’d def choose the R6 to steal bc I can see the blue wheels lol
Three cycles stolen ,not sure if I’m going with these security tips 🙋♂️😂🏴🤷♂️
Awesome tip and very good for safe me bike

There is a bicycle alarm that I have been installing in my bikes that runs off its own AA batteries. The last for over a year and don't kill your main battery(as most bike alarms do).
But insurance is really the only protection against the really bad guys.
Michael Moore could you provide a link please? Been looking for something for awhile and can’t find something good... thanks in advance
my Street Triple stays in my garage when not riding. I have GEICO cause that is who my car is insured with. I have a disc lock I use IF i happen to stop somewhere and I can't see my bike
Another thing you could have add, is to lock your steering. Makes it hard to move around.
I guess he just thought that was obvious, I've never not put my steering lock on, and not seen others not do it either.
@@HalfdeadRider It's a good habit to lock it, i know of a bunch of riders who don't use it, and some new riders don't even know about it.
@@RedTurboMr2 Strange place you are from lol, I ride with a lot of people, new riders and very experienced, never seen it as said above.
@Chase have you tried putting your expensive lock on the rear wheel? If it doesn't fit tge front, try the rear......
1. Thieves have been know to super glue or damage locks so they can’t be used just a warning.
2.
Another tip is to just leave your wheels turned and locked. I’m surprised he didn’t mention that
I had my bike stolen back in april. Now i got digital guard dawg ignition i doesnt stop carrying or towing away but they cannot just break my ignition and start it with a screw driver AGAIN
That "Kobe' hits different now :(
When you look at the “right” insurance and it’s stupid $$$$$$
Tyler Watson Gieco is that way to go dude check it out, I pay 60 , my bike is financed, and I’m 25 and a first time rider on a 400 CC, also keep in mind most insurance companies insure based on whether or not there are a lot of fatalities on the bike, and if it is a “hooligan bike”
Iam looking at. A r6 r1 or s1000rr
Gotta get a cheaper bike to insure my dude
My r3 was $33 a month with progressive. Less than $20 I think for my 2016 yz450fx supermoto but my financed 2018 r6 is around $85. Second year riding. 2 accidents in a car. No tickets. 21yrs old. My yz250fx was stolen and they didnt give me any issues at all about paying for it. They paid full nada value (which was fair and was basically how much I paid for it to begin with) and I have up to 3k in accessories coverage on each bike so they covered the 2100 in parts I had on it (I had all receipts). Very happy with Progressive
Being young, a male, high cc’s, or having a certain bike, you’ll be paying more for insurance. If you have anti-theft measures, it goes down a little.
Me knowing chase has had three bikes stolen from him, Why not watch this video
For a moment there I thought you actually had another r6 stolen... How many would that have been at this point?
Can you do the z1000r test ride...
Bike covers are solid.... until its windy... rip handlebar
Damn. My dream bike that i had for 1 month was stolen 2 weeks ago on my apartment complex. I have progressive for my car. But for bike it was over $4000 a year.
Gutted for you mate on both accounts, my insurance is £100 a year fully comp.
I always knew Luke was the type of guy to steal a bike!@!!@#!
Nice, I have the same bike :) 2016 Yamaha R6
scorpio alarms sold out because they aren't restocking them cuz they aren't being bought they are horrible... they drain your battery... and in the event your battery isn't dead from it .... it doesn't work... had that same alarm on a bike and didn't stop them from taking it.
Your landlord jacked your bike?! WTF, beat the shit out of that fool and get your bike back
My R6 had a fat chain.... they cut the chain and stole it 😭.
In Florida you are not required to have insurance on your motorcycle
Chase lets be honest. I think you have a degree on stolen Bikes 😁
Very cool video
Very useful
Wow this hits home, my Fz09 was stolen 2 weeks ago 😢 😢
Seriously now , fit a tracker...you can pick them up pretty cheaply now 👍 and you get a text if anyone touches your bike 😉
😳 Luke is a thief............well I didn’t see that coming.
And he stole your chicken 🍗 too .......dammed
2:06, nah i’d choose the one with the clearly blue wheels which is clearly a sports bike…
if they are able to figure out it's a sport bike, i'm sure they know red means Ducati and is more expensive than a Yamaha
Good voiceover
Love your videos
I got a camo bike cover. Now I can't find it.
