Great pattent! I used thicker yarn and needles, so I adjusted the number of stitches. As long as the number can be divided by 4, you are good to go! One tip by me - use either one color or switch colors by rows, so that the bubbles are seen easily. I managed to make the hat look cute with colourchanging yarn, just used two shades - lighter and darker ombre. It turned out pretty neat
Hi I ended up having 76 stitches and they worked with the pattern. I realized it should be multiple of 4 as I have done the crochet bobble stich. Thanks for the pattern
Found this pattern on Pinterest a couple months ago. I've already made 4 hats for me and the kids. Everyone loves them, and we get a lot of compliments. 🙂🤘❤
I have made this beautiful hat and I love it. I’ve made it in different colours for my 2 Daughters and Granddaughter. Studioknit is a wonderful website with the best How-to videos I’ve ever seen. I bought the hat pattern for a very reasonable cost. Thank you Kristen!!
@@winniealvares5843 yes that's right, you cast on 65 stitches, but then you knit the first two stitches together which brings the total count down to 64 :)
I just finished making this using the recommended yarn and it’s so beautiful and fits great! I have a big noggin so the cast-on band is a tiny bit snug, so when I make the hat next time, I’ll make it even looser than the first attempt. Overall an excellent pattern and I’m thrilled. Thank you! 💝💖 Edit: After wearing a couple of times, it actually fits perfectly!
I’m going to try to knit this without going into the round (my circular needles are too long) I’ll tell y’all how it goes! If I remember to that is... Edit: it turned out pretty decently! I definitely made it too big, I should have trusted the original amount of stitches in the pattern, but I think it looks great!
I’ve knitted the rows from 2-6 and I’ve done garter stitch and on Row 7 for bubble pattern, I simply knit 3 and K4B which is Knit 4 below so I used the garter ones and drop the 4 ladders. Then I’m going to insert the loop and wrap the yarn around the needle and pull it through. It doesn’t matter if it’s garter or stockinette if your purling or knitting stitches.
In the hospital where my baby was born, one of the nurses knitted raspberry hats with this pattern to give away to every baby that was born 🥹 it is so beautiful; she knitted it so perfectly 👌🏼
@@aliencatmeow because taking stitches off needles always makes me nervous. I often lose all or part of them and have to find them. It's a hot mess. I will figure it out one day.
My 5 knit rows didn’t turn out like yours 🙃 so ima take it out and knit one side and purl the other and see if it looks like yours and the bubbles ain’t looking like much 😅- I don’t think mine worked like yours because I didn’t work in the round-will need to sew my hat together. Thinking I’ll also need to undo my decreases and add that purl row in between them to make it look the same as the rest of the hat-stitch wise. But definitely love love love this pattern and plan on making so many for gifts as well as donations for shelters and new mothers in my areas for their baby’s.
How clever! Thank you for explaining and showing. I have been wanting a hat like this and thought it would be too difficult. I do get a bit nervous watching you knit because I think the stiches are going to fall off. Tihi. I use the German way of knitting, which is more secure in the hand.
I have a question, when you say to put the right needle back into the stitch of the k4b, i noticed the stitch is actually turned, meaning, you are putting it back on your needle opposite than you normally would a dropped stitch...is this correct?
Hi Studio Knit! This is a great pattern, just a question on the final decrease rows, I see that it says Knit 2 together but how many times do you do this? Can't seem to see this information on the written pattern either. I only saw you do this twice on one row in the video? X ❤
Double pointed needles are terrifying to me. I couldn’t find a tutorial on how to use them. Do you have one or could you either recommend one or make one? I need to level up on my hat knitting game
I loved this pattern and I want to try it out. But I don't have circular needles. (Actually, I do have circular needles, but their length is too long for this project.) Can I try this exact pattern on straight needles?
Question, i know in the instructions it says worsted or bulky #5 weight, would there be a difference on the amount of stitches to cast on for worsted weight yarn ?
Stupid question was there only supposed to be 68 stitches throughout after the increase round because there were so many stitches on my needles when i got to the decrease round im struggling to keep them on the needles
Help! When I get to row 7 of the bubble pattern section I have 1 stitch too many at the end of the row. This is the K4B, knit 3 row. I carefully counted my stitches. While knitting row 1 of the bubble pattern I have correct number of stitches. But when I am done and just knit next 5 rows I have 1 stitch too many. Tore it all out. Did it all again and same problem. 1 stitch too many at end of row 1 of the bubble section. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Watched video,. Can't see mistake. Any advice out there?
@@moomjena8392 , my calculations tell me it must be just multiples of 4 because she's knitting in the round. The plus 3 I have seen in flat patterns. I am going to give that a try with scrap yarn and see.
Amanda Attile you can knit the hat on 16” circular needles until dpns are required and you can use a bigger cord such as 32” or 40” and use the magic loop method instead of dpns
I just started making this hat and I've got about 5 inches done already! I cant wait to see how it turns out!

Can I ask how you managed to switch from circular to straight needles? What changes did you make? Or did you need to make any?
kawaii potato You do everything on straight needles and sew it up the back
@@handsonhooks I did the same but I'm stuck with the decrease :(
@@kawaiipotato6870 I had to add a purl row for all the backside to make it look like the video, and it looks 👍🏻

How many stitches should you cast on for toddler ans child sizes?
Thanks for the video. I just have a question. Can one decrease stiches using bubble stich in the round instead of using endless needles.
I'm hyperventilating watching you take those stitches off the needle!
why
