I love these hats. I make lots of them every year as I participate in a social yarn group where we knit/crochet for the homeless and also for the babies that are born to young single mothers. This is so usefull with the yarn and needle sizes. Thanks.
I used up left over yarn and crocheted hats for our homeless shelter.. we do get some days of cold weather in sw fla during the winter months.. I’m going to knit these next...looks like fun..if I start now, I’ll have several done by the end of the year...thanks for sharing this pattern....you’re great!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much! I had been looking for a simple pattern and you hit it right on nail!! Can't wait to make them for Hat Not Hat. The best video ever because the hats are made out the different weights of yarn.! Super AWESOME!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have been crocheting for a while and have been looking for a beginner knitted beannie tutorial. I'm ready to go!
Love your thorough instruction video. Have made many hats and just purchased your pattern for this one simply because I love its simplicity. Thank you. Marion 🤩
Gosh. This was so lovely to watch 🥺 I loved it so much, it's aesthetic, easy to make and well explained. Plus your voice is aesthetic to the ear. The result is professional and exactly like the hats I would normally buy. 😅 Can't wait to make this 😊✨
Thank you so much for this video! I am new to knitting and this actually explained a lot more than just how to make a hat for me so, thank you for that! You are a great teacher! 😀🧶
What a fantastic and clear tutorial. Thank you very much. Going to knit these for my grandchildren. Hopefully you have other knitting patterns. You're the best🤗
As a new crochet designer, I appreciate all the hard work you put into your tutorials ! I went ahead and bought the pattern and I’m very happy to support you! Lots of work goes into making a pattern! Can’t wait to make some of these, just gotta loosen up my tight tension lol!
Perfect. Been trying to teach my daughter, but, a scarf is very boring. Now I can change it up and it may inspire her to continue and complete something. Thanks from Australia 🐨🐨🦘🦘
I'm sorry, I don't have any instructions for #7 yarn. I would not recommend a yarn that thick for a hat, as it will be extremely thick, chunky, and heavy, and may not be very comfortable to wear.
I am using KnitPicks Options Laminated Birch Interchangeable Circular needles. Of all the needles I have tested, they are the best wooden knitting needles I have used: ruclips.net/video/_3m-1mgUfMs/видео.html I hope this helps!
I read the written pattern looked back at your instructions and I still don't understand how many stiches I need to put on the first row of stiches I'm doing a adult medium hat with super bulky yarn if anyone can help me plz do so 😔
So the super bulky yarn for an adult medium it says to cast on 28 stitches. Then you knit every stitch across until you have 84 rows. Hope this helps !
Hi Amalia! The Adult Medium is the second to last size, so the numbers for the Adult Medium are always second to last in the list. For example, the super bulky instructions say to cast on 15 (17, 18, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 28, 29) stitches, so for the Adult Medium, you'll cast on 28 stitches. Then, it says to knit a total of 46 (52, 56, 62, 66, 70, 74, 80, 84, 88) rows, so you'll knit 84 rows. I hope this helps!
Thanks a lot for giving this amazing video. I was in fact looking for someone who could guide to knit with 2 knitting needles and I simply loved all your instructions. I will now knit lots of hats for poor and homeless people in India. As I have lots of 4 ply wool can you please guide me with 3 or 4 sizes with 4 ply( I mean the needle size and number of stitches I should put) Very thankful to you
Hi! If you click the first link in the video description, it will take you to the free version of the written pattern, which tells what needle size / gauge to do for your yarn and how many stitches and rows for each size. I hope this helps!
Loved your hat knitting. I need help. Can you please guide me, how many stitches should I put with a 4 ply wool for an adult hat. Will be very thankful to you
Hi! If you visit the first link in the video description to view the free written pattern, the pattern will tell you how many stitches and rows to work for each hat size and each thickness of yarn. The pattern also includes the gauge measurements you'll need to know which needle size to use. From what I understand, 4ply yarn in UK and AU terms would be classified either as a #1 Superfine / Fingering Weight yarn, or a #2 Fine / Sport Weight yarn. So just follow the pattern instructions for either #1 Superfine or #2 Fine yarn in the size you want to make. I hope this helps!
Hi, your pattern is easy to follow, can you guide me to how many rows for the different sizes, I'm looking for an adult medium to adult large. Plz advice on number of stitches and no of rows. Love from India ♥️
Hi Karen! All of the information and numbers of stitches and rows for all 10 sizes are included in the written pattern. You can view the free version of the written pattern by visiting the first link in the video description. I hope this helps!
Hi Michelle! The multicolored hat is made from Knitologie Sheen in Titmouse: bit.ly/3brrYz1 It's a limited edition hand dyed yarn from KnitCrate. If you're a KnitCrate subscription box member, you can get this yarn at 50% off the regular price. The dark pink hat is KnitPicks Brava Sport, the mint green is KnitPicks Gloss DK, the dark blue is Knitologie Glowing Worsted, the pale purple-grey is KnitPicks Brava Bulky, and the light pink is Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. I hope this helps!
Hi! If I remember correctly, it is KnitPicks Gloss DK: shrsl.com/4clg2 That exact colorway is not currently available, but it comes in many other lovely colors. I love the quality and texture of this yarn, as it is very soft, smooth, and pliable, with excellent drape. I hope this helps!
Hi! I got them from an Etsy shop here: tidd.ly/1ba52232 It took awhile to get them, but the price was the most affordable of all the custom faux leather tags I could find. I hope this helps!
I would like very much to make this hat but I cannot figure out how many stitches to cast on and how many rows to knit. I am a medium female hat size with a 22inch head so my rectangle should measure 11 1/4 by 16 3/4 please help!
Hi Lynn! If you visit the first link in the video description, it will take you to the free version of the written pattern, which tells you how many stitches to cast on and rows to work for each size and each yarn weight. I hope this helps!
I did visit the link and I see there should be 18 stitches in a 4 inch section. I knitted a five by five sample and blocked it and got 17 stitches in 4 inch section. I can not see how that tells me how many stitches to cast on for a rectangle that is 16 3/4 by 11 1/4 , or how many rows to knit. Thank you for trying to help me, but I guess I am too inexperienced to figure out how to knit the right size rectangle.
No, this pattern will not work in stockinette stitch. The stretchy, ribbed texture of garter stitch is what makes this hat fit properly. I hope this helps!
All of the stitch counts and information needed to make all 10 sizes are given in the written pattern, for 6 different thicknesses of yarn. You can view the free version of the written pattern by visiting the first link in the video description. It tells how many rows to work for each size in each yarn thickness. I hope this helps!
Hi! All of the information on amounts of yarn, numbers of stitches and rows, and more is included in the written instructions. You can view the free version of the written instructions by visiting the first link in the video description. I hope this helps!
Hi. If you visit the first link in the description box, it will take you to view the free version of the written pattern, which includes the finished dimensions of the rectangle in all 10 sizes. I hope this helps!
Hi Tanya! For a perfect fit, you'll want to follow the simple instructions in the free written pattern, which you can view by clicking the first link in the video description. The number of stitches to cast on and rows to work depends on the size hat you are making, and how thick your yarn is. If you visit the link in the video description to view the written pattern, the instructions explain how to know which size to make, and gives the full instructions for all the sizes in all the different thicknesses of yarn. To choose a size, you can measure the circumference of your head (around your head where the edge of a hat would normally go). If you would rather not measure your gauge and follow the instructions exactly, the instructions also tell you the finished measurements of the rectangle for each size. So if you prefer, you could just knit your rectangle so it comes out to the correct finished measurements for the size you want to make, and assemble the hat as shown in the video tutorial. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions. Happy Yarning!
Hi Mary! The printable version of the pattern is available for purchase in my shop. Just visit the second link in the description box of the video. I hope this helps!

What yarn did you use for the example hats? I loved the green color way and the drape!
Love your work... perfect instructions in all your Videos. Could you pls tell me how can I make these logos?
I had my logo labels custom made on Etsy. I believe the logo is stamped onto the faux leather, but I have not tried making my own yet.
Do you have any instructions or recommendations for size 7 yarn?
I'm sorry, I don't have any instructions for #7 yarn. I would not recommend a yarn that thick for a hat, as it will be extremely thick, chunky, and heavy, and may not be very comfortable to wear.
