@xonicoleyox898 Planning on it. I finished a scarf for my wife, now I'm trying to learn this beanie! 😁 Unfortunately...I keep missing the last stitch somehow? My work keeps getting smaller every row, but I can't figure out where the missing stitch is supposed to go! 😭
I keep missing theast stitch too 😭 im just going to turn it into a jellyfish beanie with lil twirly tenticles since i can make those apparently lmao@AmulekkofWOW90
@@AmulekkofWOW90 you can use stitch markers on the end of the row so you can mark what the last stitch is when you come back to it! if you don't have access to stitch markers then you can use any yarn scrap and loop it through. another alternative is also a safety pin. if all else fails then this same youtube has a tutorial on how to make a beanie in a round, that way you don't have any ends!! happy crocheting!!
Started last night and finished it this morning took me maybe 3-4 hours total time but I'm not a speedy crocheter. Super straightforward to follow and I just tried it on it looks great! Can't wait to give to family on christmas :) Thanks for the tutorial!
I had never done crochet before watching this tutorial. I am currently making myself a headband and i have to thank you for explaining very well the stiches and how to make them. Thanks dear
This is the best instructions I've watched!!! No one shows measurements only stitch counts. I use chunky yarn so I need measurements not counts...thank you!
How did you close the hole with chunky yarn? I have tried it multiple times and different ways with the old pattern and this one and still fail every time.
Same!!! Once I just decided to stop practicing single crochet rows over and over, I stumbled across this video and decided to just follow it never having done double crochet yet before. I just finished it after about 10 hrs of work
THANK YOU for a fantastic tutorial! Wow, I'm so impressed with my finished beanie. I had to come back and rewatch all your intricate steps for each phase, and I followed them exactly. I'm so impressed with that seamless join at the end; it turned out perfect. That join was a challenge at first to get it started, but then it fell right into place. I just finished making this beanie for my son who has a 23" head. I used a 5 oz. skein of I Love This Yarn and the I hook. I only did 48 rows, with the 51 chains to start. He has a hard time finding hats to fit his head. I have just enough yarn left over to put a pompom on the top. I got my skein of yarn on sale for $3.49, so with tax this hat cost me $3.66, but because his mom made it especially for him, it's gonna be priceless to him.
This is my first time officially crocheting and I’m so excited. I spent like an hour just figuring out the different stitches and how to count. I hope it turns out well.
You made this really easy. I liked how you showed how to do the 45 half double to 5 single crochet. I have been confused about this. Now I think I can do it since I watched your video.
This is a great pattern! I used worsted weight yarn, the same as you and the same size hook you recommended and googled this circumference of the head of a 12 year-old and made it that size and it whipped up in no time. Thank you for your pattern.
You have an incredibly calming voice which was pleasant to listen to. Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial! Also I learned somethingntoday, I didn't know people used the actual weight of yarn used in a project- it makes things make so much more sense for me!
Hi from Ireland I have watched a lot of tutorials for beanies a d I have to say yours is the first I could follow easily.i have crocheted all my life but never did a ribbed beanie .thank you so much I subscribed and look forward to watching all your tutorials.great to see young people doing the craft.💝💝
I just got done with the written pattern for this beanie and it was so east to follow and do. It was my first time making an adult beanie and I love how it turned out ❤️
Just finished making my first beanie with this pattern!! It’s super simple and it’s nice to sit and relax while working on this, it took me about a week of working off and on with it and the most stressful part is sewing everything together at the very end 💀 It’s a really good starter pattern, I’ll definitely be making more hats like this in the future!!
i do suggest, if you are using a thick/ Chunky yarn, chain 2 before turning to start the HDC, dont chain 2 for the SC obviously, just when you turn it for the HDC. But this hat pattern is really nice, its easy to follow the written pattern
Thank you!! Made mine with size 5 bulky yarn and was able to get the perfect fit! I specifically used loops & threads bulky twist in fireside which makes a great colorway with this pattern.
I've just done this and for an absolute beginner this was easy to follow and came together fast. I made it harder for myself by doing a contrasting brim so lots of colour changes and it still was fast to come together. Thanks!
Thank you. Your tutorial was so easy to follow and I managed to make my hat after just two attempts. The first time I made the mistake you warned against of not crocheting into the last stitch!! I feel real satisfaction at completing it and am looking forward to wearing it❤
I used this tutorial to make a beanie for my little stuffed bears, its so cute, I made sure to leave some holes for the ears (by chaining some loose stitches and reattaching it) such a good tutorial
crafting the christmas present for my dad rn thanks to this tutorial ☺️ i took a break from crocheting for a few months and now my first project has been and is still frustratingly slow in its progress so I'm really glad I can make this beanie as a fun intermission project^^ 😄
I absolutely loved your tutorial. I was able to follow along with you. You did not rush it. Just perfect. TY my beanie came out fantastic for my first hat. Love it!! ❤
I just finished this beanie (it’s gonna be a gift for my boyfriend) and it looks great! Might make another one for myself. It did take me a looong time to make it but I guess I just hate doing half double crochets lol and the slip stitches confused me a lot but the result was definitely worth it. Thanks for the tutorial! xx
I just finished making one during my study breaks! easy tut and it came out cute! i had to increase the head size a lil (rows across), so now it fits snugly on my big noggin XD thank you Viv
This is a brilliant tutorial and every step is explained with such great clarity. It just makes it so easy to understand and follow. I made my perfect beanie 🖤
This is an amazing tutorial, incredibly easy to follow! I'm using this vido to make a Christmas gift for my husband, it's going to be the base of a hat that's supposed to look like a shiny greninja
I just made one of these and it turned out really good! I had to buy another ball of yarn though, but that was probably because I used a size 4.5 hook and a 100% cotton yarn (100 g or 150 m per ball of yarn). 54 rows was still the right size though. Edit: If you want to make some really simple colourwork, you can easily make the folded-up brim a different colour from the rest of the beanie by changing colours at the same position every row. I used a light green for the top of the beanie and a dark green for the brim. I changed to the dark green yarn when there were 16 stitches left in the row, since that resulted in the switch from light to dark yarn being hidden behind the brim :)
I have been crocheting for years but every time I attempt a beanie it comes out wrong. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I have completed my first beanie and it looks great. Thank you so much for this tutorial x
I’ve made many beanies using your previous tutorial and everyone loves them! I did not have an issue with the slip stitches and it really makes the top of the hat look nice. I am glad you removed the slip stitches from the brim. It made one like that and omitted that step going forward because it was a bit too snug. I am new to crochet - self taught from RUclips. You are an excellent teacher and have helped me so much. Thank you for sharing these tutorials and patterns!
i understood everything you said and I am super excited to try and make my first beanie. I just finished my first infinity scarf so I figured I would give a beanie a try. Thank you for making such a well thought out video.
Thank you so much for this video. I've recently taken up crochet and other than some curlicues to "add" to hats, this is the first time I've actually made a hat! It was a lot easier than I expected and your calm explanations were perfect. I shouldn't have chosen chenile to work with though! but that is totally my fault!
I will definitely make this beanie again, but with a different yarn. I thought that it would look cute with this slightly thicker yarn than I usually use. And holy cow, it is huge 😅 and it’s a gift for someone… so I hope it looks okay. It looks huge on me. But it’s very warm. I hope she likes it, if she doesn’t I may cry lol.
