I've been knitting since I was 7 (I'm now 54) and reading the pattern for this stitch I just couldn't work it out. This tutorial helped me no end, I've now mastered the bubble! Thanks so much 💜
I am soooo happy I watched this video!! I didn't even know a "row counter" existed; just ordered one from Amazon. I'm always losing track, when doing more intricate patterns, starting over, getting discouraged, and moving on to an easier project! Thank you so much! ❤️
If dropping the stitch really freaks you out, count down 4 and put a stitch marker in the 5th stitch, then you know that you will not totally lose the plot or your mind as you drop the stitches because the ladder will stop at the stitch marker, a safety pin will do, it’s time consuming but is helpful for a beginner until you gain confidence
Fantastic idea! I really like this pattern but I get panic attacks when accidentally dropping a stitch and couldn't imagine doing it on purpose over and over again. Your idea will be the reason I try it after all. Thank you!
I've never screamed during a knitting tutorial before, but watching you rip out stitches on purpose gave me serious anxiety. lol 😱😱😱😱😱 It looks amazing though!
speedysweetheart If you do it for a few repetitions you will learn you can recover dropped stitches and you loose the fear. The components of the stitch are always there. This also makes a beautiful baby blanket, as colorful as you like and cushiony for a baby. Thank you, Studio Knit. This tut reminded me how fun and useful this stitch is!
OMG I have seriously struggled with this stitch for years because I found it hard to navigate the dropped stitch row. This is the first tutorial I’ve seen which explains it so clearly. I actually finished a test swatch and it was perfect! Thanks for making these videos for us. Huge fan.
I literally learned how to purl yesterday, and today, after a first rough try to test it out, i am going super smoothly with this stitch, im in love with how it's turning out!
TRIGGER ALERT: Stitches are being seriously dropped in this video. But, not to worry! We then get control of that yarn like a bawse with our K4B. Have fun with it, guys! 💗
I love this stitch , I’m making our 3 grand daughters one each. The stitches your teaching us are amazing there are so many projects to make. I think I’ll make a bubble beanie to match the blankets for Bella, Freyja and BeeBee ( Phoebe). Thank you for sharing with us.
Okay.... you gave an old lady heart palpitations. But now that I am up from passing slap out......🤦🏽♀️ this is beautiful.... I am planning a few baby sweaters and this is perfect! New subscriber😁
This was scary at first but so much fun to do and once you get through it and see the pattern forming it is a beautiful new stitch I have learned and Kristen you are a really good teacher, making it fun and not as hard as it look.thank you young lady for teaching this old dog a new trick, can't wait to learn more
Wow, thank you for sharing this pattern, my daughter and I saw a sweater with this pattern, and she wanted me to make this pattern on a sweater. So excited to start this kind of pattern. It looks satisfying I’m pretty sure she’ll love the texture of this one💕
I haven't knit for years but decided I wanted to get back to making things. I decided to knit a bonnet for my 5 month old. So far so good! Figuring how to do the border with the bubble was a little tricky without a reference but I think I got it 😁 I love this stitch and plan on making many more things with it
Wonderful tutorial for a scary pattern! Dropping those stitches feels so unnatural, but having a clear demonstration like this really helps, haha! Thanks😄
Finally! I got it! After watching several videos on how to knit the bubble stitch, trying to work the K4B pattern out on my beanie only to have to rip it out because I really didn’t understand how it worked, watching this video I can see what I was doing wrong! I’m more of a visual learner and the contrast of the white yarn and the dark blue yarn made me see where I was going wrong! Whew! Thank you for making this video! I can now continue the bubble knit beanie pattern without giving up! ❤
I have been searching for good pattern to use for my farewell gift for my best friend this April. She's going to move to Japan this year...might try this one as I have 2 specific colors to use for her scarf. Thank you for teaching and sharing!
I just stumbled across this stitch looking for a chevron stitch. To heck with the chevron, I'm trying this one! And yes, I was on the edge of my seat as I watched you dropping that stitch until you caught it!!!
I, too, nearly stroked out just thinking about dropping stitches! Took a few tries but it worked! I made two turtles using the bubble stitch for the shells. So darn cute!
I love the bubble stitch! I’d share the colors I’m using but don’t know how to send a picture. Thanks so much for this pattern. My granddaughters are going to be very happy.
I didn't know knitting could be fun, I've been doing just the normal knit stitch for years. Then I found all these different stitches on RUclips. This looks so cute, would love to try this. Thanks for sharing.
Good afternoon ma'am, this is Rupa, from India. Had the habit of knitting, but forgot all about it. Bought myself some yarn and plan to take up knitting seriously once again.Ur videos r so encouraging and painstakingly made...am indeed very grateful to u
For the life of me, I have tried this pattern so many times and with different yarns and needles and tensions...and I can't get it to look like this!!! Frustrated to the max as I love the stitch when other people do it but I can't. But I will keep on trying because one day it will look perfect too...LOL. Thanks for this tutorial tho, it has once again given me hope. :)
I just have to say wow!! your tutorial was so amazing I really enjoyed the detail I could really see what was happening, I'm more of a crochet fan... but you just inspired me to switch teams. Thank you for the fun pattern.
I love this stitch pattern but it does use a lot of yarn! I made a matching baby sweater & matching bonnet for my first daughter. I have a photo of her father holding her wearing it in a forest preserve in October 1973.
I just made a baby hat out of this! I did the double rib stitch for a few rows, used this bubble stitch, cinched up the top, and knit together the open side before folding up the ribbed part. So cute and that’s for this videos!
Awesome sauce.....you got right to it.....great video! As a person who has 'tinked' four rows below (frequently; LOL !), I was quite comfortable dropping back four rows; LOL!!
Hi Kirsten....I LOVE this stitch...ooooo I am going to use it on hats and other nice knitted projects....Love your channel...totally loving knitting!!!! God bless you!
This is my first time on your web-site, love the way you describe this stitch and all of your directions are so clear. I think I just found a new home. I definitely will be doing a Bubble stitch hat. Thanks to you
You make the best and easiest tutorial videos i've seen on here! I haven't knitted in a while because i just could not learn from videos and it was just so discouraging that i kinda gave it up for a while. Then i found your video for how to knit a bunny and it was so easy to follow and informative that i haven't been able to put my needles down!Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You are a wonderful teacher and you're love of the art definitely seems to make all the difference in the world!I just wanted to let you know how much i appreciate your videos.Thank you so much for sharing them and teaching in a way that's easy to follow and truly pleasant to watch. I wish you all the best and look forward to watching and learning more from you!
I love this pattern! Thanks for teaching me! Also, I’m a little new to knitting so I put lifelines after the first and seventh rows and felt a lot better about dropping the stitches. Thanks again!
So helpful! You took the words right out of my mouth when those stitches dropped! 😳 I get why you have zero dislikes on this video. Especially appreciate the contrasting colors and your speed while explaining. Much more helpful than the visual aid that came with my new pattern.
Oh my goodness......this makes my heart sink.....just seeing the drop stitch. :) However, this excites me to learn something new!!!! Thank you for going slowly and repeating for us. I love watching your videos.
Wow! This is a fun easy project. Thank you :) ive got ice cream colored yarns that im looking for a fun pattern. And this is perfect !!! Really want to explore and do other different knit stitch but im a simpleton. Complicated written instructions are my worst nightmare. Your tutorial is very nice.
Oh my goodness....THANK YOU! I looked and looked for a tutorial on this and yours is by far THE BEST! Makes total sense....now I'm going to go and finish my hat!!! Lol
Oh, what a beautiful pattern. And you teach it well. I decided to make a blanket and after ripping it out on row #75 😭!!! I found it impossible to try to pick up the stitches and so I put it aside and started over..Aaaahhhh!!!!! Now after 3 feet of 3 different " swatches" I've decided to pick it up, slow down and try it again.

Dropping stitches on purpose: not for the faint of heart. Proceed with caution
Doing this stitch made my fingers sad but my brain excited

NORMA p great idea!
Normski Beat ah yes this is what I do if anything gets caught or anything else (idk...?) I just drop the stitch because usually it’s on the end
