This video was excellent in showing me what I needed to do to replace the touchscreen on my 2018 Chevy Equinox Premier. Found the touchscreen on EBay for $26.00 including shipping and it shipped from China. Dealer told me it would be over $1000 to replace touchscreen and parts were on national back order and could take a year to come in. Did it myself and it is working beautifully,
Great video, I recently bought a 2018 equinox LT Version, I like the radio display, it has some cool features, but it’s still pretty basic one. Do you know if I can updated with the version that comes with navigation system and all of that? Are the connectors on the back will be the same or do I need to use some adapters? Thanks
In Ebay there is a person who prepares the wiring, right now I don't have the information, but if you prepare it, you will only have the functions that are original to your vehicle, but if you can, I did it about 11 months ago.
great video about how to remove the console display..... maybe even the radio.... but what's the point? once removed what does one replace it with? it's not like you just put an after market double din radio unit back in the same place and still have access to major car functions.
Where is the radio receiver in a 2018 Chevy Equinox? This video shows how to replace the screen, the phone BT/WiFI module, and temp control module but the location of the radio receiver is not shown.
First off great video I do have a question I just purchased a 2021 equinox I found that the USB ports below the radio do not work the fuses look good. So I'm thinking the apple and Android ports are bad , first is there anything else I should check or how to see if it's got power, and second how do I remove it to replace that USB unit? I found replacements but no imstructions
I removed my radio from my 2018 equinox due to the radio not powering on. Checked all fuses and have literally tried all tricks and tips possible but never could get my radio to turn back on after it shut off while driving. I received my new unit and connected it just to make sure it would get power and the replacement unit will not power on either. Any suggestions other than checking fuses, removing terminals, holding home and forward button for 10 seconds (did work for about 10 minutes then shut back off and has never turned back on since) and disconnected all cables from the radio receiver as well. I absolutely cannot figure what the hell has happened. I went as far as changing out all fuses as well. What am I missing?
@Lard do you mean the receiver under the passenger side under the glove box? It seems to be the box that powers all usb ports, cigarette lighter and seems to control all sound for turning signals and Seat belt alarm?
Hello, I have a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, my question is can the screen be updated or do I need to change the screen and if it can be updated, what is the process?
Anyone successfully upgrade this radio screen for the bigger screen? Is there a link or any harness to plug the 3 plugs from the small screen to the big screen with only 2 plug inputs?
@Mechanic Life hi from Ukraine! Did you know where is radio antenna cable socket on multimedia? How can I check it? Any radio station does not work on my Equinox 2018 (
Hey there, is the touch screen the actual stereo? Or is there an actual part inside that is the stereo? On my 2013 ford focus the screen was NOT the radio it was seperate. I’ve been at this for a while researching can’t find anything. I’m trying to add a LOC to add an amp. Problem 1. All 3 harnesses from touch screen are disconnected. Bluetooth audio, steering wheel controls still work. Problem 2. None of the stereo diagrams I found march any of the harnesses inside the touch screen portion.
@@carlosovni7100 nooo the screen is just that. A screen. The actual radio itself is under the dash near the passengers right foot. Just hooked up my sub and amp.
Can you replace the old radio in a 2018 equinox with am aftermarket radio? I've heard due to complications regarding the computer of the car, that you cannot install aftermarket radios. Just want to know if that is true or not.
@@MechanicLife I tried that and I can't get it, lol. It's a 2019. I'm trying to get that part pulled off so I can access the air vent by the passenger side because the little clip that flips the vents open and close came off. The piece is inside. I know a few other pieces come off but that's the first step that I can't get pass.
I want to tap into my factory radio for subs. I have an equinox 2021 redline edition but need to know if radio is about the same before I start tearing into it. But I need to know what I'll need to tap in plz
I have this exact radio but my touchscreen stops working every couple days then will randomly start working again. Anyone have any idea of why its doing that and how to fix it? The radio works and the screen display stays on but, I try to use the touch screen and it's like it's frozen. I turned the car off, I've disconnected the battery terminal for 10 min and I've even tried to hold down the home button and fast forward button to restart the touchscreen. The display and radio always comes back on but, the touchscreen still won't work. I'd appreciate anyone's idea of how I can fix this
This is the best video that I have found for booking up an Amp to the radio in this car. Thank you!

How would you hook up an after market radio and still access all the car settings?
😂😂😂

People will replace them with a unit that will play video so they watch movies, TV, etc..
Thats an awesome video thank you
Did you upgrade the screen or just replace the old one?

Because he didn't replace the receiver. Just radio
This is a video showing the LCD removal, not the radio. The radio is behind and to the right of the glove box.
I have the same radio model. Any idea if I can change it out for the newer larger screen one?
Did you?

From what I found the receiver is somewhere else. Behind the glove box maybe?

If life was just that easy

That antenna socket should be on the back of the radio.
Is this the same process for the Premier 2018?
Just based on looking a photos online, it should be basically the same.
At least I can replace my Hazzard switch!😍
Yewwwww!!!

Yes you can.
Did you do something else before you removed the whole bezel? I can't pass the first step, lol
